You picked out a beautiful campsite for the weekend, a nice place to pause and relax. But before you can enjoy it, you have a whole checklist for getting your RV set up at your campsite. Getting your manual retractable awning extended is one of those tedious chores. Wrestling with your heavy canopy as you crank it all the way out, turn by turn, is exhausting and takes forever. It's time to find a better way to do this.
With a power awning, there's no bother and there's no effort: push a button and your awning rolls in and out, just like that. It wires right into your RV's power so it's always ready to go. If you ever find yourself without power, there's a manual override built into the drive head that you can use to retract or extend your awning with a power drill (not included).
Note: The manual override function is not available on 2017 Forest River Cherokee campers.
Best of all, this conversion kit is a great economical option. You don't need to buy new fabric or a new roller to upgrade to a power awning. You just need these new awning arms and endcaps, and you're good to go.
One thing that can quickly ruin your camping trip is a broken awning. It's not easy or cheap to replace, and you can't really enjoy your patio without one. A big hazard to a healthy awning is rain: water pools in the fabric, stretching it out and putting strain on the arms with extra weight it wasn't designed to hold. Next thing you know, the fabric rips - the arms snap - the whole awning comes crashing down, slamming against your RV and leaving you with a big and costly problem.
For traditional awnings, it's up to you to run out in the rain and lower one of the arms yourself. If you're away from your RV when it starts to rain, you can only hope your awning isn't damaged when you get back. Solera awning arms are smarter than that. This conversion kit comes equipped with an automatic rain dump function. As soon as rainwater starts to pool in the fabric, one of the arms will automatically drop, giving your awning a pitched angle. The rainwater will then run off to one side, taking the pressure off your awning and your mind.
It's hard to get your awning in just the right place to keep you in the shade all day, especially with those awnings that are pretty high off the ground. Sometimes you need just a little slant to your awning to keep the sun out of your eyes. The manual pitch adjustment built into these arms gives you that option. Simply pull on one of the arms at the friction joint to drop that corner. It comes down easily and holds itself there for as long as you need it. When it's time to retract your awning, there's no need to readjust it; the awning will slide back into place.

Been 1 year and working great. Replaced the arms after a hit and run tore one of them off completely. Replaced both to ensure a good fit. Installation not too difficult, took about an hour.

These arms were an exact replacement for my 5th wheel awning.The original arms got bent by a heavy overnight rainstorm and of course I didn’t retract it or lower one side to shed the rain before turning in. I have used etrailer many times over the years, they are my “go to” supplier - always have exactly what I need and their delivery times are 2nd to none!
Package was a bit beat up, but the awning arms were well protected inside. I replaced my damaged Dometic arms with these. Easy to install and about a 95% exact fit.

Nothing but friendly and thorough support from Joshua. My order shipped quickly and the pricing was competitive. I plan to do a follow up review after my awning is installed.
Found that the end caps for awning roller will not fit carefree longitude style roller, was able to adapt caps using 3 inch schedule 40 PVC pipe. Cut to 1 inch length then notched to fit inside of cap, attached with self drilling self taping screws, picture of modifications shown. Awning now has excellent arms with all the adjustments I could ask for
I have not received the awning arms i only received the awning tube. Do you have E.t.a.

The service was great had my parts in a few days and they were the exact same as the ones I replaced. Have a extra person on hand to hold the awning tube while you switch out the arms and it only takes a few minutes
Perfect fit for my custom built Sling Shot hauler camper.
Worried at first because the directions state the arms are to convert other brands but it fits my Solera brand awning perfectly.

To be honest, the electric awning didn’t work well at all. I tried to get it warranty out, but it was an extreme hassle going back-and-forth between you and Lippet. To this day, I still do not have a resolution as to whether or not the motor is defective or the power supply amperage is in adequate. The awning goes out, slow but fine however it will barely retract especially if the awning is damp or wet. It will not retract at all. I assumed when I purchased this product from E trailer that I would be dealing solely with E trailer for any warranty work, but instead, I was pushed off to the manufacturer and they kept brushing me off or requiring unreasonable hoop jumping without resolving my problem. Basically, the entire ordeal was exhausting and I just gave up and now I’m stuck with a poor performing or non-functioning electric awning system.

Hey Bradley. I'm really sorry this all happened. That is not what we want our neighbors to have to go through. I am going to get this taken care of for you.
This was a great option for replacement after my awning lost a battle to a wind gust. The install went about as smooth as a universal fit could go. I did have to compensate for the head shafts being about an inch longer from center than original, and I had to drill a 1.5" hole in the back to fit my feed wires through, but mounting was a breeze. I suggest having caulk handy for every screw hole you can reuse, and every new screw you drive through the siding. As for shipping, With the way electronics leads are right now, shipping was the best it could be for an out of stock product. Etrailer stayed with me giving updates through out the whole process, even giving me replacement options I could have taken. All in all this was a great product with an easy 2 person installation. Etrailers customer support is top tier!
After one of my employees backed into a customer's 20 day old travel trailer and destroyed the awning emailed came to my rescue. These were an exact match, good quality and installed quickly. The package was delivered on time and the etrailer videos were very helpful. Simple easy replacement
A windstorm bent every one of hte arm pieces from our awning and we needed a replacement fast. We ordered these replacement arms, wired them up and had a working awning in a few hours. They're done great for us!
