    • Designed for use with a factory tow package
    • Compatible with 5-pole and 6-pole adapters (sold separately)

    • Locate connection points at the rear of your vehicle
    • Plug in connector

  • 90-Day limited warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located at the rear of your vehicle, slightly toward the driver's side.

Once installation is complete, the connectors will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket is included to keep the connectors secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 7-pole and 4-pole connectors - to help prevent corrosion.

Vehicle Wiring

Note: Refer to the diagram above to determine if this harness will fit your application. The plugs on your vehicle must have 5 terminals on one side and 2 on the other. If your vehicle has 3 terminals on one side and 4 on the other, you will need wiring harness HM43385 instead.

Product worked great and the shipping was EXTREMELY fast.

Toyota Tundra

The mounting bracket doesn't fit my tundra out of the box. I had to drill additional holes to make work.

by:

Easy to install. Replacing older broken unit. Like this one better.

by:
2008 Toyota Tundra

Great. Had to make new holes in the bracket to install where old one was screwed in . Worked fine when connected.

by:

Like another review. I had to drill holes to mount the plug. The quality of this Hopkins unit is not as good as the OFE.

by:

As advertised. However the mounting bracket had to be redrilled to match the factory holes under the bumper. Otherwise the connectors fit with the factory wiring and appears to be working fine. It may not be as heavy duty as factory parts but it is also1/6 the cost.

by:
2010 Toyota Tundra

I have to say that it fits great and I was actually able to change the location of it so I will not be breaking it as I have with the one that came with the truck due to poor location and it looks great as if it was designed to be there. sorry I dont have any pics.

by:

Very fast shipment, good fit, saved about $200 vs the dealer cost for the same part. etrailer.com does it again!

by:

Not as heavy as the original pig tail but both plugs matched perfectly and the system worked flawlessly! I give it a 5/5 for price and ease of installation.

by:
2010 Toyota Tundra

Clipped right into my 2010 Tundra factory wire harness at the back of the truck. Took just a few minutes to install. A+

by:

Same as factoy at much better price, fast shipping

by:
2008 Toyota Tundra

Toyota plugs fit properly, it works, but not an exact replacement. Modifying is required. Connections are not brass.
Worth the price.

by:
2010 Toyota Tundra

Not excellent, but better than good. Mounting Plate not the right plate for a 2010 Tundra, and holes do not align. Had to bend plate, and redrill holes to larger diameter and placement. Not quite as "plug and chug" as I had hoped for.

by:
2007 Toyota Tundra

Good product at a good price and thr service could not have been better. Will use etrailer for all my applicable needs. Great website for the do it yourself type.

by:

very happy with product easy to install worked great.. fast shipping would reccomend to anyone that does not want to mess around with their local dealership and spend way to much money!

by:

I made my own bracket for this out of 5052 aluminum, but the connectors are very good quality. Also, the potting on the back of the assembly is WAY better than the factory unit.

by:
2008 Toyota Sequoia

Excellent product. Used on a 2008 Toyota Sequoia and connections fit perfectly. Fast shipping from Etrailer

by:

Products are good but etrailer shipped them with no manufacturer box or instructions. All they did was remove them from their original boxes and threw them into another box for shipping! No packing material or anything, just a bunch of loose parts rattling away! Pretty sad Etrailer.

by:
Chevrolet

Product works great. $300 less than whatthe local Toyota dealer wanted for the same thing. If I ever need an item(s) again I will check with etrailer first. The price for this item was less than the local automotive parts stores had for similar items that fit ford, chevy etc. Even with snail mail the package was here in the northeast in five days. Yes, I recommend etrailer.com to anyone.

Harness: I like the dual type connection (I'm not a trailer guy) that apparently is the most common used. Hardware was zinc and because of potential rusting, I replaced it with weather protection hardware. The connections fit perfect, did not need to modify. Only modification was to the bracket; drilled holes so would fit horizontal to existing bracket rather than vertical.

Hitch ball and mount:
Fits great and works great. Good quality. For theft protection I purchased the receiver padlock rather than the coter pin style. Great quality and feels very sturdy. Glad I found your company, thanks bunches. Already told friends about your quality.

2007 Toyota Tundra

This item was an excellent replacement for the wiring harness on my 2007 Toyota Tundra. The only thing I had to modify was the mounting bracket but the plug ins were perfect.

by:

Product exactly replaces the OEM unit at a fraction of the cost. I should have bought two in case I drag my back end and break it again! It's not that the quality is such that they break, but water bars and off roading can be hard on hitch components.

The wire quick connectors clipped exactly into place. The mounting bracket needed some minor modifications, but nothing that you can't manage if you were installing this thing int he first place.

2008 Toyota Tundra

My truck: 2007 Tundra, double cab, SR5, build date 8/07 with factory tow package and wiring.

The OEM trailer cord has two plugs which hook to my truck with a 2 prong and 5 prong connectors. The Hopkins HM11143395 which has this configuration is listed for a 2008 Tundra. A Hopkins 43385 is listed for the 2003 to 2007 Tundra. This cord has a 3 prong and a 4 prong arrangement.

I think Toyota did a running changeover on the OEM trailer cord plug and hence that is why my truck requires the HM11143395. So buyer be aware. Check your connector plugs before ordering.

HM11143395's bracket needed to be altered to mount to my truck. Everything is installed and checked with a meter but have not hooked it up to a trailer yet. Do not foresee any problems.

Just an update with my 2007 Tundra, double cab, SR5, build date 807. I did install the HM11143395 as noted above . I have hooked the truck up to six different trailers and the lights all work properly.I also see etrailer added a video on the running change by Toyota on the 2007 Tundra.

  • No Power at 12 Volt Pin In 7-Way on a 2008 Toyota Tundra
The first step I would take would be to check the 30-amp trailer brake controller fuse which is located in the # 10 slot on the fuse box under the hood of your 2008 Toyota Tundra. If the fuse is still intact, then you will want to move to the 7-way trailer connector. Using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993, check the black wire on the back of the 7-way way while the vehicle is running. If you are getting power here then the problem is in the trailer connector, and it will need to be...

If you have a 2003-2006 Toyota Tundra the 7-way wiring harness part # HM43385 that you referenced would essentially be the exact same thing as going with the Toyota brand connector. Most likely the Toyota connector does not have the 4-way option that comes with this as well. This will most likely be less expensive too.

  • Replacement 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connector for a 2007 Toyota Tundra
We do have a replacement 7-way and 4-way trailer connector for the 2007 Toyota Tundra, but before we can determine which harness will work for your truck, we will need to know what type of plugs your trucks tow package wiring requires and how the connectors are wired. Unfortunately, Toyota decided to wire this truck a number of different ways. The Tundra had a generation change between 2006 and 2007 and this caused some discrepancies in the wiring. Your factory 4-way and 7-way trailer...

  • Replacement 7-Way Trailer Connector for a 2007 Toyota Tundra
From what I could find, the 2007 Toyota Tundra used a harness like the 2006 model, # 20137. However, the plugs in this replacement connector do not sound like what you are describing. What you are describing sounds like the harness for the 2008 to 2010 models, # HM11143395 that you have referenced. Also, for a 2007, I found that a harness like # 54701-004 will fit and it has connectors like on # HM11143395. You will need to examine your connectors closely to determine which one, # 20137...

The correct replacement 7-way for your Tundra should be part # HM43385. You can confirm this by examining the connectors under the truck that the connector would plug into.
