by:

the hitch looked great but i ordered the wrong one and had to send it back

by:
2007 Dodge Ram Pickup

The front mount hitch receiver is great however it was damaged during shipping and bent one side of the mount going to the frame which could be corrected by wrapping both ends of the mount in foam or cardboard to protect during shipping.

by:

Seems to be fine.Install was easy.I used the 2 supports that hang it from the bumper bolts. Then welded to the frame.Couple hours tops no fishing bolts.Should be plenty strong enough for a motorcycle carrier

For my 2005 Ram 2500 4WD. This product is well made and I am looking forward to using it for a winch that can go on the front or rear of my truck and may get carrying racks, etc. I believe the product I received was damaged in shipping. The span between the flanges that bolt to the sides of the truck frame was about an inch narrower than the distance to the outsides of the truck frame where the hitch fastens to the vehicle. One of the flanges was badly out of square. I widened the gap by placing the flange in a vise and pulling on the end of the hitch till it was closer to square. Then I used a large crescent wrench to tweak both sides till the dang thing would go on. Then I still had to use a pretty big hammer to wack it into place. Also, this installation was very difficult for me to do alone on the ground. A buddy and a lift would have made this much easier. The included fish wires were super effective and high quality; once the bolts are in place just thread the wire through the mounting holes in the hitch as you lift it into place. Went much easier than I expected. Instructions say use a hole saw, I used a step drill bit and that worked well, except for the small burns I got from hot chips raining down

Excellent customer service

2007 Dodge Ram Pickup

The hitch is very well made and arrive in 2 days! Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Just like the description said and easy to install. Fast shipping and nice to ask questions before the sale.

Ram 2500

My particular model of vehicle (03 Dodge 2500 pickup) was a very easy install. I am very happy with the Curt Front Hitch. Now I can easily mount my winch, bicycle rack and a cargo hitch to the front of my truck.

by:
Dodge Ram Pickup

Quality product that is low profile and fits the truck nicely. On my '03 Dodge Ram 2500, I was able to retain my Banks Ram Air intake that mounts below it!

by:

Awsome product. We needed it to maneuver our trailer into a very tight space alongside our garage. It does the trick ever time.

by:

Great unit. Well made and fit nicely.
Only
reason it did not get 5 stars is the instructions are a bit vague. Be prepared to spend some time drilling larger than expected holes to get the bolts in place.
Nice piece at a very fair price overall.

by:
2004 Dodge Ram Pickup

Excellent customer service and consistent followup provided me with the perfect product and support. Thanks etrailer team.

by:

best customer service on the planet, bar none.
only sell first rate products which assures highest value for my buck

by:

Great hitch. Did take longer than expected to install but not a big problem. The hitch fits well on my truck.

by:

Seems like a quality product, however, did have to dill a few holes to make this work.

All front mount hitches for this generation Dodge Ram require some holes to be drilled in the frame for installation. Ive linked this hitchs installation instructions here for more information.

  • Recommended Front Mount Hitch For A 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4
The front mount hitches we have available for your 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 (Curt # C31017 and Draw-Tite # 65046) will both mount under the bumper, which I have examples of in an included picture. With that said, we do not have an option that will mount up at the tow hooks, unfortunately. Both of these hitches are rated to 9,000 pounds of line pull, but the Draw-Tite # 65046 is rated to 500 of tongue/vertical load, which will be higher than the Curt's 350 pound capacity. Between the two, I...

  • Recommended Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2008 Dodge Ram 3500
The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 65063 is not a fit for your 2008 Dodge 3500. It will only fit 2010-2018 models. For your 2008, I recommend the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # 65046 which is a fit and will give you a 500 lb vertical load rating and 9,000 lbs line pull rating. I've attached an installation video to assist.

  • Front Mount Hitch Receiver Options for a 2009 Dodge Ram 3500
We do! The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65046 will sit just below your front bumper while the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31017 requires you to cut out some of the bumper for the installation. Both work great so it just depends on where you want the receiver located. Cutting into the bumper doesn't sound appealing, but a lot of people prefer that to a lower ground clearance when the receiver is below the bumper.

  • Differences Between Curt C31017 and Draw-Tite 65046 on 2007 Dodge Ram Truck
There's a few differences. • The Curt # C31017 is manufactured in the US, while the Draw-Tite # 65046 is manufactured in Mexico. • When installed, the Curt hitch will sit higher on the vehicle for more ground clearance. The underside of the receiver tube will sit even with the bottom of the fascia under the bumper. The fascia will need to be notched so the receiver can pass through it. Unless you're planning on carrying something very heavy on the front of the truck like a generator...

  • Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver for a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie
Curt hitch # C31017 is not listed as a fit for the 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie models. The original answer you received stated that it could fit but you would have to grind down the tow hook brackets some to get the hitch to fit (as one customer reported). So it can fit if you are willing to do that. The Draw-Tite hitch on the other hand, # 65046, is designed to fit all models of the 2006 Ram 3500 without any special requirements. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.

  • Why Won't The Curt Front Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31017 Fit a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 Laramie?
According to Curt their Front Receiver # C31017 will not fit due to a different bumper. I did see where one person said they were able to make it fit but had to do some grinding to make it fit. Because of this you would be best to go with the Draw-Tite # 65046 as it does not require any modification.

Hey Michael. I have other options for you but the Draw Tite Front Hitch item # 65046 only fits the 2500 and 3500 models. For a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 we have two options both of which have a 9,000 lbs line pull capacity. Which one you need is going to depend on what cab your truck has. • Recommended Front Hitch for a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500
Hey Doug. The correct front mount hitch for your 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 is the Curt item # C31017. This hitch is specifically designed for the 2500 and 3500 models. It comes with all hardware necessary to complete the installation. The Curt item # 31320, you referenced, only fits the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. What do you plan on using your new front hitch for? You can add this information, along with any other questions you have, where it says Reply to Jerred H.

  • Which Front Mount Receiver for 2007 Ram 3500 Will Not Require Bumper Fascia Trimming
Your perception is correct. The Curt # C31017 would install so that the top of the receiver tube sits about 1.63 inches (about 1-5/8) below the underside of the frame member of the truck. This means that if your truck has the rubber or plastic fascia, you'll need to notch it. This hitch is NOT compatible with Laramie models. The same dimension for the Draw-Tite # 65046 is 4-1/2 inches, which should place the top of the receiver tube against the underside of the fascia under the bumper,...

  • Front Mounted Hitch Receiver for 2007 Dodge Ram 2500
For your 2007 Ram 3/4 ton, I'd recommend the Curt # C31017 which would mount to the underside of the frame members and would have the receiver tube sitting directly under the front bumper. I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite who confirms that their # 65063 is a fit for the 2010-2015 Ram 2500 only, and wouldn't be a fit for your 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. If you refer to the photo I've edited for you, you can see the hole spacing of the 65063

  • Comparing Curt & Draw-Tite Front Mounted Trailer Hitch Receivers For a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500
The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65046 and Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31017 that fit your 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 are very similar in the mounting location. The main difference that I see is where the cross tube and receiver come together. The cross tube on the Curt is cut and the receiver passes through it. While the Draw-Tite receiver is welded to the bottom of the cross tube. Not having that cut in the cross tube will make it stronger which is why I would...

The Draw-Tite # 65046 front mounted receiver will fit the 2004 Dodge Ram 3500. When the hitch is installed, the receiver tube will butt up against the underside of the front bumper fascia, a few inches below the license plate, as you'll see in the photo I provided. We do have a couple of possible options for front mount hitches for your 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab. You can use # 65046. • How Low Does the Draw-Tite Front Hitch 65046 Sit On a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500
The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65046 is designed to sit flush with the underside of the lower bumper fascia skirt on a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500. I have attached a photo which shows this. It sits as close to the underside of the bumper as possible without trimming. If you're looking for an option that does not sit as low as the above, we do offer others such as the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31017 but this requires trimming of the bumper fascia skirt.

  • Location of Curt Front Hitch Receiver For Fitment on a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500
I've answered a similar question on the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # C31017 in the past. In that question they wanted to know the distance from the frame of the vehicle to the top of the crosstube which I found to be 1-5/8" (see attached). Since this is a 2" receiver we just need to add 1" to that total (making it 2-5/8") to determine where the center of the hitch receiver will be located in regards to your truck frame.

I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. If you want more than 350 pounds capacity though the only other option is Draw-Tite hitch # 65046 rated at 500 pounds vertical load. I contacted my Curt Manufacturing rep, who tells me the total drop of their # C31017 is 4-1/4 inches. The drop is the distance from the top surface of the mounting flange that would sit flat against the underside of the frame members to the lowest point of the receiver tube. So, if you'd measure downward from the underside of your frame member by 4-1/4 inches, you'll have a very good idea of where the lowest point of the hitch would sit.
