Question:
I am looking for a front mount hitch for my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500. It will be used to carry my dual sport motorcycle so I need it to have a vertical weight of 500 lb or more, with that I want the most ground clearance possible I dont mind notching into the plastic fairing, or the bumper for that matter. From looking around it seems the ones with the best clearance only carry 350 lbs, Im hoping you folks may have something I havent stumbled across.

Expert Reply:
Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" Item # C31017 will fit tighter under the front bumper of your 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 compared to other options so for ground clearance I recommend going with it. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.
If you want more than 350 pounds capacity though the only other option is Draw-Tite hitch # 65046 rated at 500 pounds vertical load. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
