When you're towing heavy-duty trailers, you need a hitch that can handle it all – and that's where the Curt Class V XD hitch shines. This beast is rated for up to 17,000 lbs of Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) and 2,550 lbs of Tongue Weight (TW). It's built for serious towing, whether you're hauling equipment trailers, large RVs, or decked-out toy haulers. Made with precision robotic welding and a sturdy square-tube design, this hitch offers unbeatable strength and longevity.
Tackle every weather condition without worry thanks to the Curt hitch's black powder coat finish. This coating over a protective base offers superior rust resistance, ensuring that the hitch maintains its robust looks and function through snow, rain, and mud. It's crafted to stand up to the elements, keeping your hitch looking sleek and performing flawlessly for years.
Forget about complicated installations. The Curt hitch is engineered with a bolt-on design that fits perfectly onto your vehicle's frame. All the necessary hardware is included, meaning you can have this hitch secured and road-ready in no time. The included installation instructions and straightforward design make it easy even for those more accustomed to a steering wheel than a wrench.
The 2-inch receiver opening of this Class V hitch gives you the flexibility to use a wide variety of ball mounts and accessories. Whether you're coupling up to a trailer, adding a bike rack, or mounting a cargo carrier, this hitch has you covered. It’s an excellent fit for any adventure or job, making it a great all-rounder for your truck.
Even with its robust design, this hitch integrates seamlessly with your existing setup. With careful planning and design, it doesn't interfere with your spare tire storage or the vehicle’s wiring. You won't need to rearrange your truck’s essentials, keeping everything functioning just as it should without sacrificing towing capability. It's ready to hit the road with you, fully prepared.
I didn't find any information on this site regarding if this would fit under a ranch hand bumper replacement. But luckily it did. It mounted right up as stated. I believe my spare tire is stock, and that also fit right back into place. The hitch has much more beef to it than stock. I haul a lot of different heavy trailers, both bumper pulls and goosenecks, can't wait to see how this unit works out.
Very pleased with the hitch and fast shipping. I installed by myself in less than an hour. My pics show how to use 3 pieces of rope to lift and hold without hardly any physical lifting on my part. One rope at the rear up to the bumper a one on each front bolt hole to the front bolt hole in the truck frame. Just keep shortening the ropes until it’s tight to the frame and install bolts. Very easy. Factory spare tire still fits.

Great! Very pleased.
Sturdy! It came in a teared box but all hardware is there, smart way of packing the bolts! I think is double the size of the Ford one I had on. It took a while to take the old one down, the Curt is straight forward in mounting, took 45min with drilling (yes you need to drill the 2 holes for the outlet support, use self tapping screws, is faster). Its heavy, I put myself on the creeper and with the hitch on my belly went under the car with 2 long zip ties. Secured left first, and right after, the holes close to the bumper. The hitch will stay in position... because phisics. Then applied blue lock threader on bolts and... easy peasy. Torqued to 150ft/lbs. Done. The spare tire it will fit just fine.
This is a great replacement for the factory hitch on my 2011 F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab short bed truck, except it doesn't have all of the holes needed to attach the factory wiring harness (3 holes missing) or the trailer plug bracket (2 drilled and tapped holes). I drilled (17/32") and tapped (m8-1.25) the two holes needed for the trailer plugs, so they're back in place just fine. For the wiring harness, I just zip tied it in place for now. In my experience that will last about 3-5 years where it's at. Also, my factory sized full size spare just barely fit. When lifting the tire back into place you do have to push the tire back and forth to make sure you get it in just the right spot. See the pictures to see how much clearance there is - around 1" total.
There also was a hole that should've been drilled or a cutout that should've been included for the head of one of the bolts that holds in the charcoal (EVAP) canister. Because this wasn't included, the frame rail got bent when torquing down the nuts for this hitch. I included a picture of this as well. This item, more than any other small gripe I had above, is what cost this product one star.
I can also state that this fits well under the Ranch Hand Ford Sport Back Bumper that came on my used truck.
All in all though, I really like the hitch and I think it'll do great for the next thing I need to tow - a 90's 1/2 ton truck on a rental bumper pull vehicle trailer.
The factory hitch had rusted completely through. This hitch from e-trailer looks like it will outlast my truck. The construction is far superior to the factory hitch. I was concerned that it would hang down and look silly since it doesn’t have the same contour of the bumper as the factory hitch does. But this hitch fits nicely under the truck and looks like it belongs there. Installation was simple with the included hardware and instructions.

I think the install looks great! Great job.
It was an exact fit. I'm 60 and with a couple of jack stands I had it in stalled in less than an hour. Instructions didn't mention it but I also used blue loctite on the bolts and the 7 pin/4 pin connector did not have any holes to connect it so I drilled 2 holes 1/4" into the hitch used original bolts and a nut driver to get them in place. Most people would not have that mechanical knowledge so in future there should be pre drilled holes for that. Overall good experience.

Perfect fit. We have been all across the country and no issues. Excellent product.
Easy install ( my bumper was already off because of my flat bed )fit perfectly. looks much more robust then Reese hitch's from the early 2000's. I noticed I had a hairline crack at a weld probably from all the road salt in NY on my old hitch .
The hitch receiver looks good. I used it to replace my factor Ford F350 hitch receiver for higher tongue weight ratings. Note that this hitch does not come with mounting holes for the factory wiring bundles that the factory hitch receiver had for wire attachment devices. I had to drill my own.
Also note that the etrailer shipping box was not well prepared. My hitch box came with holes and parts of the hitch sticking out. Luckily everything was there and no significant damages or scratches. etrailer really needs to improve their shipping process. No padding or wrapping inside the box to prevent this shipping damage was inside.
Product was as described and was easily installed. The only negative was the shipping container. It was basically destroyed during transit. Fortunately, the hitch is pretty much indestructible.
Price is perfect, shipping was fast! As others have noted, the box arrived a little beat up. But that is to be expected with a heavy chunk of steel inside a cardboard box. Contents were packaged so there is no chance of missing parts.
Installation wasn’t bad. Use a large breaker bar or a heavy duty impact wrench to remove factory bolts. 350,000+ mile F350 from the rust belt came off with some muscle. This hitch lines up perfectly utilizing the Ford factory centering nubs.
One thing to note is that this hitch will require lowering your spare tire as it has a straight square tube instead of Ford’s factory bent tube that wraps around the spare tire. See pictures.
Installation for me took a little over 1 hour due to a lost security key for the spare tire winch. Ended up deciding to cut the winch cable and replace the winch. With a heavy duty impact wrench and the ability to lower your spare tire, complete installation should take no more that a half hour.

Fantastic!
Highly recommended! This was the best price from a "reputable and manufacturer authorized" seller. Website is easy to navigate. Competive products can be selected for comparison. Easiest online shopping and check out. Fast and efficient delivery. Everthing about this transaction was convenient and easy.
Trailer hitch is leaps and bounds better than the factory hitch I removed. It's beefy and very well made, and I highly recommend! My only complaint is the packaging left a lot to be desired and unfortunately the really nice matt black paint was worn off in a few spots due to the really poor packaging. I get that it is a very heavy item and shipping companies are not going to care for it during transit. It totally could be wrapped better using additional packing products to protect it before it's packed in the box.
Very stout. Just enough room on an ‘04 F-350 to keep the factory 7 pin plug. Plenty of room for factory spare tire. 1 person install in about 45 min. Great value.
Great product! A major improvement from the factory hitch. Easy to install, but I did have to remove the spare tire from under the truck to install.
Fit great with no issues. Fast shipping
extremely fast shipping, excellent comm unications!
Hitch is fine. The box/shipping materials however were DEE-STROYED in transit. Never seen anything like it before. I know it's a large, heavy piece but it could do with a little better packaging
I couldn't be happier with the hitch and etrailer. I was a bit worried about putting a class V hitch on myself. I thought with the weight I sometimes tow, I really wanted it done right. Every truck I've bought before already had the hitch on it. I watched a video etrailer had that actually was on a 2006 F350 Super Duty and with that being the truck I have I was really lucky to see how easy they made it look. I was a bit concerned about the weight over my head, and thought I'd check the cost of having a shop nearby put it on, before ordering it, and they told me I couldn't even get a hitch since my truck was built as an incomplete truck to be finished with utility boxes by Monroe truck. He was also concerned about the Tommy Liftgate that was added after Monroe truck finished building it. He just didn't measure correctly, assuming my frame was wider than standard.
Anna, at etrailer assured me the one I wanted would fit, helped me with the order and got it to me in 3 days. She was right, it fits great and it was a breeze to install. I used a motorcycle jack, with a bungee cord attached to the jack, holding a ball receiver I put in, to keep it more or less straight as I lifted it into place. I think the actual time it took me, installing it by myself, was just about an hour. I highly recommend etrailer for their service from before ordering, with their informative videos, the willingness to answer all your questions, getting the item to you quickly, keeping you informed about the order's status, and then being pro-active in volunteering to help
This hitch receiver was a direct fit for my 2000 F250. It took about 40 minutes to complete the whole job, and I definitely recommend having a helper. Other wise the job would have taken much longer.
I was amazed at how much bigger the curt receiver hitch is compared to the factory hitch. Definitely worth the purchase.
Installed very easy. Very stout. Poor box it was shipped in was beat up. Could have expanding foam to keep the hitch from moving and beating up box. As stated in some reviews, the stock location for the electrical connection for the trailer could not be used. I just drilled a hole in the bumper above stock location to mount the trailer plug. This will keep the plug out of the way. See picture.
Box was severely damaged in transit, but the hardware kit was securely taped to the hitch itself, which is good. Not surprising for an 80 lb steel piece wrapped in cardboard. Four stars because, despite being a 'direct fit' for my truck, the hitch interfered with an existing mounting screw on the frame rails that could not be relocated, so I had to grind some clearance in the mounting flange of the hitch. While it was a relatively minor inconvenience for me, it could be a show-stopper for someone without the proper tools to make the modification. Also, this hitch does not come drilled for the OEM receptacle bracket. etrailer recommended a strap-on option in one of the question responses that allowed me to bolt my existing bracket to it, but the band clamp that came with it was not large enough to go around the massive tube on this hitch. I was able to use a stainless steel 6" diameter hose clamp from the local big box store to clamp it on... Just barely.
Half the price of the local shops, super fast shipping, and in the end, it works great!
Excellent hitch, looks good.Allows me to tow my 10K dump trailer.Super easy 2 person swap with a floor jack. Wife drove the floor jack.
This hitch is beefy! More heavy duty than stock hitch for 08 F350. Also comes with bolts.
bolt holes lined up exactly but there was an issue with the rest of the hitch lining up exactly. We were able to modify. The hitch is quite beefy
Out of the box you know it’s built to work. Haven’t installed just yet still working on truck. But first impressions are impressive. Will follow up after I get to install and working the hitch. Upstate NY puts a hurting on all metal with salt and calcium sulfate. Time will tell photos to come

This is a great hitch. Very sturdy, gives great peace of mind. This hitch can handle a heavier trailer than the truck could.
