Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Stromberg Carlson RV folding grab handle shim. This shim is going to help fill the gap or provide more clearance between your RV and your Stromberg Carlson RV handrail. This will work with the Lend-A-Hand and the mini Lend-A-Hand hand models. So if you have any of those models that you see on the screen there, this is going to fit for you. This is a Stromberg Carlson product designed specifically to fit with those models, so it will work really well.
So a lot of our customers that have used this and been very satisfied, have been needing to expand the distance between their RV and their handrail. Most of them have installed new RV locks and the handle wouldn't lay flat to the door which was causing them to worry about the potential of it opening while they we're traveling down the highway because it wouldn't seat correctly. So this provides the clearance required for that handle to lock back to its mount. So they're very happy with it because it was able to give them that peace of mind, knowing that their handle was secured the way it was supposed to be. So just to give you a few measurements here, this is right at 3 and 7/8 of an inch in overall length.
Our width is right at 2 and 3/8 of an inch and we do have 1/4 inch width or thickness, rather. These two mounting holes are 5/16 of an inch in diameter, and they are spaced 1 and 1/8 of an inch apart center to center. So if you are needing to provide a little bit more clearance for your hand rail to make sure that it's going to mount properly, this is going to be exactly what you need. Use this shim to fill a gap between your RV and your Stromberg Carlson Lend-a-Hand RV rail.I finally was able to get my 5th wheel back from the dealer after almost 7 months there to install my shim for my handle and so far it's what the doctor order.
Like always etrailer sent this right out to me quickly and I am very happy with it. I had order an RVLOCKs for all of my doors on my 5th wheel but the lock on my main door I wasn't able to close it all the way.
It would stay close after I close it but I didn't like how it was setting in the handle position, I have included before and some after pics. Now when I install the shim it clear the rvlock that I install. Awesome etrailer and thank you I will always order parts from you guys.
I needed these to make it possible to fold my RV entry handle over the new RVLock I had installed. They are fantastic and provide the exact amount of standoff required for the handle to lock in its mount. Fantastic product.

That really stinks.. I sent this to a team lead on the customer service side to help you Garrett.
A must have when replacing your stock lock with a keypad lock. Like others have said, these are sold individually.

Had no issues with installation.
Perfect for what they are intended for. Only thing is that most doors require 2. Misleading thinking they came in as a kit of 2.
Will need to order a second one.
Exactly what I needed to move my handle out the 1/4 inch for it to clear my new RVLock handle on the entrance door. Without it, the handle would not seat all the way into the holding portion of the mount so It could potentially open while traveling down the highway. This prevents that. Good job etrailer.

I still think it is the best purchase I have made from etrailer. Works like a charm.
We thought the item came in a pair. Husband had to make another one before installing but otherwise has met our intended purpose.
Once I added the third hole to the left of the other two for my model they worked perfectly. One extra shim top and bottom allowed for the extra room needed when I changed out the OEM lock handle with the Latchit handle. The shape of the outline is exactly the same as the grab handle on our Alliance 310RL fifth wheel. Perfect!
This shim is what we bought to take up the space when we put our Stromberg Carlson
folding handrail on our Cameo fifth wheel. It made the fit perfect and we did not have to drill new holes. We purchased the stainless steel handrail (AC-300) good for 200 lbs and it was well worth spending the extra money as it is very well built.
These were exactly what we needed for our extended handle. Great product.
Although they fit well they still did not get my handle out far enough for it to close after installing a new latch. I’ll have to order another set for it to work and these things are ridiculously expensive for what it is.
Incredibly overpriced! Paid more for 2 sets of these little plastic shims than I did for the Extended Assist Hand Rail that I needed them for.
Easy to install and moved handle out a 3/8 “ for more clearance
While I think eTrailer themselves is a great company, I was surprised when I got the shims, and they had only 2 holes instead of 3. Fortunately I had the means to make the 3rd hole.
Works perfectly! After adding RV locks, handle wouldn't lay flat to door. Shims were just what we needed!
These work perfect and has allowed us to keep our electronic lock on our door!! Thank you so much!!
Fits perfectly but I need to order one more for the bottom. My fault for being frugal.
My product came quickly.
I did not need the part but could be of use later.
I would use etrailer for all me rv needs.
Works as designed.
