To install Stromberg Carlson's commercial rail, you must make sure that the rail's mounting blocks are positioned in front of a wall stud or the blocking behind the door. Anodized aluminum screws are provided, but rails should be bolted to the RV's wall studs for a snug fit.

This grab bar is great! The length extends all the way to the bottom step of our Lippert 4 step fold up steps which makes it easy to use. When folfed against the side of our DRV Mobile Suites 5th wheel, the lowest point is still only about 2 " lower than than the bottom edge of the skirting which equal to the step box. The bright SS handle reflects the heat of the sun so in 100° heat it is still cool enough to touch to not require any padding or grip material. Overall a great upgrade.
Love the stainless steel look, but would like more abrasive surface on handle.
The option of choosing black would be nice.
Exact fit over existing handrail holes. Recycled foam pads protector/sealers from previous unit.
My wife has mobility difficulties. Our new 5th wheel has a 4-step entry stair that extends quite far from the side of the unit. The standard grab bar only extends out a few inches and could not be reached from the bottom stair. This handrail system fit perfectly, matching the stair slope and extending out to the bottom step. Easily mounted using the same holes as the original grab bar, but had to add some spacers behind the mounting blocks to allow this handrail to fold across the entry door when in motion, since the rear slide out blocks folding away from door.
We installed on our camping trailer. Because of the length of the handrail we are able to manage our steps without falling. We would reccomend this handrail to others.
Great product. Really helps my wife with bad back. The only reason I would not give it the best review is because of the problem with the installation. On my 5th wheel trailer I had to build spacer blocks so the handrail would fold against the trailer. With the ridge on the door frame sticking out, the handrail would not fold. Made the spacers out of 1/2 inch plastic, the same size as the handrail mounting brackets.
We replaced the factory handrail with the Stromburg Carlsson
Handrail , and we absolutely LOVE it!
Installation was simple...and it offers a stable hand hold all the way to the bottom of our campers steps !!!
Replaced the short step rail on our HitchHiker 5th wheel. Went on in the exact same location as the original rail, which only had 2 holes for each mounting block, so had to drill 2 additional holes for each block. Dw loves this new rail, as she can now walk down the steps forward instead of walking down backwards. Definitely worth installing

The handrail is wonderful
Sturdy but I had to drill new holes in my brand new camper because they didn't line up with OEM. Took me 2 trips to town to find the correct length of screws needed. Despite all the negatives it is still sturdy for my disabled wife.
Wife and I are getting older and this longer assist bar works great for us getting in and out of our 5th wheel camper. Works so well I put one on our back porch to help getting up and down the steps.

Still Great!! Both working very well in both locations. They are a great upgrade for us.
Love this hand rail!! My 5th wheel is very tall and I have had to reach up high to use the short installed rail to climb the steps until my son installed this for me!

Perfectly!
Product was exactly as described and new condition. Well packaged and padded and arrived when promised. We have a new 5th wheel with a 4-step entry. The standard grab bar did not extend outward and downward far enough for my wife, who has mobility/balance problems, to reach the bar for support. This product was a perfect answer in that its outward and downward extensions were just right to provide hand support at the first (lowest) step and will fold away when on the road.
The handrail looks good and functions perfect for our 2 year old son on a 4 step Dutchmen voltage. The mount holes do not line up but I was able to put it beside the door trim and hit the aluminum framing to make it solid. Etrailer is always easy to deal with and they know their products very well.
The product is good, had the same problem as some did, had to put 1/2" spacers between coach and mounting block so it would go in to travel position against the door, if the manufacturer would make the mount blocks thicker it would look better after installation
the grab bar installed nice. The location holes from the bar I removed were to high. I lowered it down to make it more comfortable. It did close over my door without having to add spacers. I have a 2021 Forest river platinum 27 camper

My order was shipped and delivered very fast I was extremely please. The only draw back to this order on particular is that I only received the hardware for one handrail only and I ordered two handrails. So instead of me receiving 16 screws I only received 8 screws total
Easy to install into the same position as a smaller handrail that was there before. It really makes it far easier and safer for us to climb the steps (one of us is disabled. It even has locks that add security when folded over the door. Well worth the cost.
Hand railing installed and I am very happy with it.

The handrail is strong and sturdy
Appears to be sturdy. Item had a bit of a twist to it when taken from package. Was able to straighten it out. Will have to wait and see if it remains straight.

Handrail works great. Must safer than the one that came on the trailer.
Excellent product. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is no instructions. They would have been helpful.

Without this rail my 91 year old Mother that lives with us and our special needs daughter would not be able to safely enter and exit our motor home, and we wouldn't be able to continue to have great family times!!!
