Hassle-Free Installation
Each JetStream crossbar has a bottom channel that allows you to mount it to any of the Yakima StreamLine towers - BaseLine, RidgeLine, SkyLine, or TimberLine. The rubber strip in the channel can be cut down to the exact size needed for installation and then re-installed in the channel. This helps keep dirt out of the bar and reduces wind noise.
Etched measurements along the bottom channel help you center the bar on your roof. Simply use the ruler on each end of the bar to ensure the towers are spaced properly in the channel.
Once you have the correct measurements, install the brackets in the bottom channel, set the bar on top of your towers, and tighten it in place with the torque tool (included with your towers).

Versatile BarBed
The BaseLine's BarBed is specifically designed to work with Yakima's entire line of crossbars.

It is only cosmetic, but when you pay top dollars for a good product you expect that it will be well packaged so is not damaged when shipped. Subaru Outback Wagon
These load bars are GREAT! I specifically bought these because they can comfortably handle any kind of sheet goods, including baltic birch plywood which comes in 5'x5' panels; it's much easier to securely strap down plywood when it's not hanging off the ends of the load bars.
These extruded aluminum bars are light enough that they're not a hassle to install and remove - I only put them on briefly when I need them, so I've had them on and off a dozen or so times and it's easily a one-person task.
They are of course very long, so I can't deny that there's more opportunity to bang your head on them when getting in/out of the car, but they are no wider than the footprint of the car (Subaru Outback) itself so they're not at risk of hitting a pedestrian or anything.350068

Bought kayak racks. Took a while to put together, but they are very high quality. etrailer send a wrong part (digits on the part number were reversed), but it was very easy to get this corrected and I received the correct part in less than a week. If you have longer bars from Yakima, like the 70" JetStream part # Y00427OR the 70" CoreBar # Y00423, then all you need for your 2009 Dodge Journey are the TimberLine Towers # Y33TR. If you happen to have Yakima round bars then you need the adapter # Y03536 as well.
For your Thule bars you will need to use the Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401 with the 69" ProBar Evo Crossbars # TH713600 as the aero-style Thule bars have a limited mounting space underneath them and I don't think it will view full answer...
In order to install the Yakima LockNLoad Platform Roof Tray above a tonneau cover on a truck bed you will need to install a set of tracks alongside the bed rails along with a crossbar system.
