This multisport cargo basket fits on the roof-rack crossbars of large vehicles, allowing you to carry big loads and mount Yakima accessories. The basket front and rear crossbars serve as mounting points for Yakima bike and boat carriers. The basket accepts any Yakima mount accessory that works with a crossbar spread of 38".
A movable load bar mounts on the side rails of the cargo basket and repositions to serve as a mounting point for shorter roof rack accessories.
Additional accessories - including High Lift Jack Brackets, Spare Tire Carrier, Light Bracket and Axe/Shovel Brackets - attach directly to the side bars of the cargo basket.

Got the product I ordered today. There was a long delay on the manufacturers end but the group at etrailer kept me informed the whole time and were always accessible by phone. I was very pleased with the way they handeled the sale. No hesitation ordering from them again.

Roof rack arrived dented and scratched which complicated the installation because I had to hammer out dents to get the pipes to fit. Apart from that, the paint/coating scratches off fairly easily and the installation design is pretty awful. Instead of threading the pipe to accept screws they have this complicated plastic gasket mechanism which takes forever to align. I expected more from Yakima and for the price. Quick delivery from etrailer and good fit overall-- just need to wait and see about rust.
Yakima Road Warrior with extender was easy to mount onto my 2004 Chevrolet Z71 Surburban. Justin assured me it would fit and he was correct. I had went to a specialty roof rack shop and they told me I’d have to have one custom made for a vehicle this old.
So far, so good.
I originally ordered the Curt basket, which is cheaper. But it turns out it wouldn't fit on my Xterra's factory bars (even though the Curt website shows it on an Xterra, unfastened!)
Also the Curt instructions say their basket is not meant for permanent installation -- I guess it's like a clamshell you put on for a trip and take off after. Not what I wanted.
This Yakima fits the wide, oval Xterra factory bars -- just barely, but it's secure. I like that because I was trying to minimize height.
I installed it myself; just lifted it over my head and walked it on, no problem.
It's big, especially with the extension, but I figured as long as I'm putting one on, I might as well make it as useful as possible. Cost about the same, on sale, as the smaller LoadWarrior.
I could mount my old bike racks on it, as shown. (I have a trailer so a rear mount doesn't work.) But after I knocked a bike off going through the drive-thru at Burger King I decided I'm just going to lay the bikes flat and strap them down. Until they invent bike radar.

They had the rack I needed, in stock, and at a great price. Shipping was free, quick, and easy to track. Item arrived well packaged and undamaged. So what's not to like?
Installed on Yukon XL for camping materials...chairs, grill, camp blocking, storage bins well built provides plenty of room for items you do not want to place inside vehicle used four cross bars for mounting and support tough look very satisfied
Easy to install and looks great with the extension. Bit of wind noise but not unexpected.
The package was a little roughed up when it arrived. When I opened it, I found that the extension section for my Yakima MegaWarrior XL basket was a little bent. I was concerned, but everything seemed to fit together okay with a little elbow grease, so I'll just chalk it up to ordering by mail. I would not be surprised if the damage occurred during shipping rather than on the etrailer end. I was also missing one little screw/washer combination for the installation. I contacted etrailer and they have promised to send me some replacement hardware, so that's fine too (I've got an equivalent sized screw in there now, but it's galvanized rather than black, as the rest of them are, so I will replace as soon as the kit gets here.) Overall I'm very pleased with my rack. I think it looks great, and I'm going to use it soon on a road trip to Colorado. My plan is to put all my luggage up top so I can have some space for my dog in back of my SUV. The folks at etrailer have been responsive and helpful, so I'm pleased with them too and happy to submit this review. (Note: At one point I was a little exasperated with the slow response time from etrailer; however, I later discovered that I HAD received a response, only it was trapped in my email program's spam filter. Note to self: check spam filter!)
Only had this on a few day, but have found many uses...love the rack and so far so good!
Wow !!!! Excellent service and very fast shipping. I bought the Yakima Megawarrior cargo basket with the Thule Aeroblade roof rack and the Carpod walled folding cargo basket. I love the way these parts fit as well as the cargo carrying capacity. I really can’t say enough about trailer customer service and shipping they really do place value in their customers. Product was exactly what you would expect from a reputable company such as Yakima. Fit an finish was spot on. I was happy to go with the megawarrior instead of the loadwarrior seeing as of how well the megawarrior flows with my 4Runner body lines.
