The only way to carry a kayak and/or canoe on the 2020 Ram 1500 while towing is to install a roof rack on the truck and use a carrier. I recommend the Yakima JetStream Crossbars part # Y00427 because they are aerodynamic and their built-in ridges help control air flow to cut down on wind noise. They also have a nice T-slot channel that allows you to mount accessories with a rubber strip that does not need to be trimmed to add accessories like other brands. You will also need the BaseLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars part # Y28TR and the BaseClips # Y06135.

For the kayak/canoe carrier, I recommend the Thule Compass Kayak and SUP Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style, Post Style, or Saddle part # TH890000 which will allow you to carry 1 kayak and 1 canoe. It also comes with the tie down straps so you won't need to get those. The weight capacity is 130 lbs so you would need to make sure your kayak and canoe do not exceed that weight.
