Hitch-mounted residential plow has shock-absorbing springs and a steel-edge blade to easily clear driveways and parking lots. 3-Position blade pushes snow straight ahead, right, or left. Wireless remote lets you raise or lower plow from your cab.

The Detail K2 snowplow conveniently slides into your vehicle's front-mounted trailer hitch for fast, simple mounting. Easily raise and lower the plow from the comfort of your cab with the remote-controlled electric winch. The pivoting blade makes this plow ideal for rocky or uneven surfaces because it can adjust to the terrain.
This hitch-mounted snowplow simply slides into your vehicle's front trailer hitch receiver, making it a breeze to install. A plow that attaches to custom-fit brackets ties you down to just 1 vehicle. But this hitch-mounted plow can be used on most trucks or SUVs with a 2" x 2" front-mounted hitch. As a result, this plow can be easily switched between multiple vehicles. And because it offers a nearly universal fit, you won't have to buy a new plow when you replace your old vehicle.
To install the snowplow, just slide the shank of the plow assembly into your 2" trailer hitch receiver (sold separately). Then use a pin and clip or a hitch lock (sold separately) to secure the plow in the receiver.
The snowplow comes with flip-down caster wheels that make the installation process even easier on you. Simply flip the wheels into position and you will be able to roll the plow into position for mounting or storage. The height of the wheels can also be adjusted to match the height of your vehicle.
Once the plow is mounted on your vehicle, lower the blade and set it to the desired angle. To set the angle, exit the vehicle and manually position the plow straight ahead, to the left, or to the right. Angling the blade allows you to push snow off to the side where you want it without having to change the angle of your entire vehicle. This is especially useful on a driveway or a private roadway where piling the snow straight ahead would create a barrier.
The plow comes with a wireless remote that allows you to stay warm and out of the elements while still effectively controlling the plow. The remote operates on a 2.4 GHz frequency, allowing it to quickly send signals to the winch without experiencing delays. And because it's wireless, you won't have to run wires through your dash. Nor will you have to leave your window cracked open in the middle of a snow storm just so that you can run a wired remote into your cab. You will be glad to have it on those cold winter days.
To begin plowing, just drive forward. When backing up to take another pass, be sure to lift the plow with the remote, then lower it again before moving forward. When approaching a large pile of snow, be sure to decrease your speed. Slamming into a pile of snow can void the warranty on the snowplow.
When you are finished, put your vehicle in park and lower the plow. Remove the plow from your vehicle after every use.
The electric winch on this plow allows you to easily lift and lower the blade using the wireless remote control. If you prefer, you can also install the included in-cab toggle switch to control the plow. The winch uses a durable strap, which is much quieter than a chain, to raise and lower the plow.
The snowplow features skid shoes that allow you to adjust the height of your plow. This allows you to efficiently plow over surfaces that are uneven, such as gravel roads.
Blade stiffeners, or blade support brackets, reinforce the connection between the plow and your vehicle. They add 2 additional points of contact with your hitch on either side of the plow's T-frame. This prevents stress on the frame and on your vehicle, while also strengthening the performance of the plow.
Shock-absorbing springs allow the plow to dip forward in the event that you hit an obstruction. This flexibility protects you and your vehicle from impacts.
Easily attach a variety of accessories to the front of your vehicle with this fully welded, corrosion-resistant trailer hitch receiver. Perfect for winches, spare tire carriers and more.

Had to run to the hardware store a couple times to get the proper bolts and nuts. The plow doesn't come assembled. So expect a good evening to build this unit. First two years was great and the scraping was good. Back dragging slacks but again a lot of plows do that. So it's not terrible but does enough. Just leaves 1/4 of snow behind. But pushing snow forward works and scrapes nice on asphalt or concrete. The battery that came with the kit for the wireless controller didn't last 1 month. So be prepared to upgrade that. But it's been now on my 3rd year, one of the springs failed on it and currently searching for the replacement. The plow itself has a one year warranty so of course it's past due now. Overall it works and it's nice. Wish I had bought the power left and right but the manual lever works too. Also the side markers prematurely failed too so I had to buy meyer yellow ones from fleet farm. Cost another $xx. But I will update this as time goes.
It has been working very well as we have actually had a decent amount of snow so far this year. took a little longer than I thought it would to assemble and mount it but after it was on it works great and looks good.
The Curt Xterra front hitch is cool. I can tell it positively stiffened up the front chassis of my vehicle. My straight line ground clearance is unaffected, but please don't forget that it is installed when you are wheeling.
Got this front hitch for my Nissan Xterra so I can push my boat into my garage. Access to the garage is in an alley and the only way to get the boat into the garage is to hitch up front and push it in. A front hitch gives you pinpoint control and allows you to maneuver in really tight spaces. Product was exactly what I needed, is made well, was priced right, and delivered promptly. Couldn't ask for more.
Did not fit the vehicle it was meant to fit, had to modify hitch and drill holes on frame. Have had good success with etrailer in the past, this was not.

Can you please elaborate on what was not fitting? I see that this hitch is a confirmed fit for the 2005 Nissan Xterra. Sometimes, if the hitch arrived flexed, it gives off the appearance that it will not fit the vehicle. I would be more than happy to further assist you with more

It was an inch too narrow

I am so sorry that you had to drill holes into your frame. This is not normally done for this hitch to fit your 2005 Nissan Xterra. It sounds to me like your hitch arrived flexed and that can be resolved by bending the wings of the hitch back to a 90 degree angle with a vise. I have a link attached with more information on this for your reference.

The DK2 plow and hitch are awesome! As always, the communication from Etrailer from order to delivery is top-notch. Assembling the plow and mounting the hitch was easy. Took about 4 hours with me enjoying a few beers and taking my time one evening after work. Took on wiring the next day. I like a clean finish, so this part took me about 2 hours. I placed the control module on the fuse block as suggested (etrailer's videos are a BIG help). I placed the remote transmitter on the drivers side. I ran the plow lead down to the hitch from inside the vehicle. There is just enough wiring supplied and this allows me to tuck the connector inside the hitch when not in use. A hitch cover protects it from the elements. First use was 30" of snowfall! I plowed for about 3 hours straight. The engine compartment did get warm which made the control wiring warm and pliable; so the connector came out of the control module mid way through plowing. I used some dielectric grease and it stayed connected the remainder of my plowing. It takes some practice to hitch up to the plow easily. This set up took a beating first time out. Sure glad I ordered it!!
Front mount hitch arrived from etrailer.com with no delay. Unit installed in 40 minutes just as the instructions stated. Low profile hardly noticeable and very stable. Here is a photo with my surf rod holder attached.
The plow works very well. It's not real heavy duty but it has been adequate so far. It went together quite easily and is fairly light and maneuverable when I take it off for the summer. I am glad it has the extra turnbuckle braces beside the receiver to stiffen it up. I almost wish I had gotten a wider plow. When I have it set for straight forward it is good but when I have it angled it is a bit narrow for my Suburban. One minor problem I had was when I hit a hard object and the plow snapped forward and down both of the little red plastic end markers that stick up broke off. Long exposure must weaken the plastic.
Well made, sturdy. Needs an extension to accommodate most of my hitch items like bike rack, plow, etc. Easy to mount also.
Love this new addition to my fishing equipment. In addition to making it easier to transfer rods back and forth to my charter boat, it also performed great on the beaches at Nags Head even when taking a few mounds of sand head on. I did have to add a wood shim to remove all the free-play but that was easy and now it's firm.
Overall, I was satisfied. Instructions could be more complete, and it was missing a few bolts and nuts. But Looks like a solid plow for the application I need.
This hefty, well made, front hitch receiver mounted perfectly on our new 2015 Xterra Pro-4X. If your Xterra has a front skid plate (all Pro-4X’s do), you will need to remove it temporarily in order to install the receiver, and reinstall it afterwards. You will also need to permanently remove the vehicle recovery hook that is mounted to the front of the passenger-side frame rail (you will not be able to reinstall the recovery hook, as the two threaded holes in the frame are used to mount the receiver). I did this installation by myself, but I would recommend having a friend to help, if you have someone available. A couple of bolts and nuts are in tight places, especially the ones near the lower radiator hose. You will need to temporarily pop out the plastic clamp that holds the hose to the frame until the bolt is installed. You can then snap the clamp back in place. A BIG hefty rubber mallet is your best friend on this and most other hitch receiver installations. It is useful to tweak the hitch into position in order to get the hardware started, and to perfectly locate the receiver before you torque down all of the fasteners. The ground clearance to the lowest part of the receiver is 10”. This hitch receiver will decrease the maximum approach angle, but unless you are heavily into serious off-roading, it won’t usually get in the way. In a way, the receiver actually provides more serious protection than the flimsy, factory skid-plate. It will certainly “warn” you if you try to go over anything taller than 10”, before you fatally clobber the plastic lower facia items, or otherwise disembowel your Xterra!
Some of the many uses for a front hitch receiver include:
Great for jockeying a trailer into tight places.
Install a winch on a hitch slider. It’s not as sturdy as a frame-mounted winch, but it makes it so you don’t need to haul around that added weight of a winch all the time.
Keep a (front or rear) receiver-mounted recovery hook and pin in your vehicle (I heartily recommend the TR63044 “tow hook”, available on this website), along with a strong tow strap. Great if you need to pull someone out of a predicament, or give them a short tow.
An assortment of specialized sliders for specific uses such carriers for bicycles, scooters, etc.
Being that Xterras (and many other vehicles) are a really tall reach, as far as under-the-hood maintenance, I may even cobble a special t-shaped slider with a lateral tube that is about the width of the front of the vehicle, that can be temporarily mounted to give an elevated step area that is about a foot off the ground, for those times when you have lots of maintenance items to reach.
Make sure to live within the design ratings of the receiver. Although this is a very stout hitch, be careful when dealing with lateral forces (things other than a straight-line pushing or pulling).
Had to bend upper tabs out about 1/8" eahc to fit right. Otherwise pretty easy install. Suprised I could fit skid plate back in with no problems. GOOD PRODUCT!!
the hitch was about 1/2 inch short of overlapping the frame, your service dept told me how to stretch the metal to fit. It was not in the direction. It makes sense to have the product built this way. It was very easy to mount if you knew all of the tricks.

I use the hitch for my fishing supplies when I drive on the oxb also extra storage when family vacation while pulling my boat. This hitch will pay for itself in usage. Also I read below about mounting a winch on the hitch been thinking of mounting a hand crank winch on a 2 inch bar that I have that if one of my fishing buddies get stuck at the oxb that I can winch him out, before the tides comes in. This would be rare times but rather have it and not need it. Jeff could you also sent me that link with the info on winch Thanks Ron
Well worth the money! No longer having to worry about someone else coming to plow is a God send!!!
I used this as a replacement for the Nevada hitch the dealer took off the Xterra I bought after they took pictures of it being on it. I didn't have to deal with taking out any bolts, they left the rear bumper on with just 2 bolts. It was a very easy install, I didn't have to touch the exhaust system, I lowered the spare and moved it to the side, put the hitch up and wiggled it right into place. Put in the 2 12mm bolts in by hand and then the other 4 14mm bolts, torqued everything down to the provided specs, and I was done. I'm 60 years old, and did it in under 45 minutes, by myself.
This Front end hitch fit perfectly on my 2011 Nissan Xterra, and
made it sooooo much easier to maneuver my boat into my garage,
as "Pushing" it in enabled me to control the movements much better than my
backing it in--used previously.
Believe me-I'm thrilled that I decided to go with etrailer in purchasing this product!
I highly recommend it to others!
Good solid product and the fit for my 2011 Nissan Xterra
Is spot on. Bought this front hitch to mount a home snow plow
I think this is going to work very well.
Good for the price, really needs to be able to be able to angle from the cab of the truck. (deluxe model.)
The front hitch for the xterra made life so much easier, It was perfect. Easy to install. Went in exactly as stated in the instructions. No adjustments..... Should have purchased a long time ago.
I love having this plow easy to install, easy to attach and remove on my 2 door Jeep Wrangler. I would recommend it to everyone looking for a plow.
Difficult to put together - manufacturing quality is terrible - holes drilled off of center, causing plenty of work-arounds. In the end, it was a small plow with a complicated and messy assembly instruction. I resold it for $100 to get rid of the eye-sore. I don't recommend this at all.
Works great even better than the old fisher plow even though this one swings manually, the blade goes much higher when pushing up banks of snow.
Only got to use the plow blade one time but it worked great!
installed in half/hour,used a floor jack to lift and hold in place.looks and fit are great, now i can put bike rack on the front so i can easily raise rear hatch.nissan xterra,

Product has worked out 100 after a year of regular use and is hands down the best solution for my situation. I fished probably 20-25 times last year and it gets used every time.
