RV Tire Covers for sun and storage
Shield your tires from sun and heat to help prevent cracking, whether your rig's parked long-term or for a few nights. Choose covers by overall diameter (examples like 27-29 or 37-41 inches), and pick white, black, camouflage, or gray. Easy slip-on designs with snap rings, elastic edges, or grommet-and-bungee tie-downs stay put in windy spots.
Measure your tire's overall diameter and match it to the cover's size range. For example, a cover labeled 24 inch to 27 inch is meant for tires in that range. A tire like ST205/75R15 is right at 27 inches. Covers at the bottom of a range can fit looser; going down a size can get tighter but may be too tight. Check that the cover reaches the ground if you want full sidewall coverage.
Durability varies with exposure and materials, but long service is possible. Some sets have seen years of use, and upgrades like brass grommets can improve longevity. UV and weather will eventually wear them down. Inspect stitching and grommets, and expect wildlife like squirrels to chew if they can access the covers.
Snap-ring styles slip over the tire and are very easy to install and remove without crawling on the ground. Other styles use elastic around the top and sides and may include rear flaps with grommets for a bungee. If threading a cord behind the tire, a long tool helps push and pull it through. Both styles can fit well when sized correctly.
A snug, true-to-size fit helps reduce movement in wind. Elastic-edged covers can be secured further by adding a bungee through the rear grommets. Snap-ring styles hold onto the tire to help keep them from blowing away. If you're in high winds, avoid a cover that's overly loose for your tire diameter.
