Some play in the receiver and between components can occur. Test fit your shank in the receiver to gauge movement and ensure pins are fully installed. If rattling bothers you, a thin rubber wrap on the shank or drop bar was a workaround one owner considered. Recheck clearances so nothing binds under load.
Tighten the adjustment bolt on the ball platform with a 5/16" Allen wrench to secure the hitch balls. Recheck for any jiggle after tightening. Periodically inspect the bolt so play doesn't return. If movement persists, verify you're using the correct size shank and all pins are fully seated.
Measure from the ground to your receiver opening and to your trailer coupler, then choose a drop or rise that keeps the trailer level. If your truck sits high or your trailers have low tongues, plan for more drop. An adjustable Fastway hitch lets you fine-tune for different weights/tongue heights so you can keep things level as loads change.
Some may not. One setup needed the machined surface 1/2" further on the top side and 1/4" further on the bottom (drop) side for Rock Tamers to fit after pinning. Check that the collars can slide on the shank once it's pinned and that there's clearance between the hitch and bumper before committing.
