Thule Hitching Post Pro - Folding Tilting 4 Bike Rack w Anti-Sway - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches
The good: I like the way the bikes are held in and the ability to add the upright adapters to the bike frame holders. The straps are quality too. For a jeep with a spare tire, this is the perfect length to clear it. This rack is 5 stars from the bike holders to the base of it. The bad: the 2"receiver adapter and bolt are insufficient. I wish they made this in a solid 2" hitch. The entire setup is held into the receiver by a very short bolt. It only goes about half way into the receiver tube. So your hitch is only "secured" on one side. A hitch pin or bolt should go through the receiver tube completely imo so it can be secured on the other end with a retaining clip or nut. Because this only goes in the one side, the entire weight of the rack plus bikes are held tight to one side of the receiver by the undersized bolt and washer. A few bumps down the road and that bolt loosens. Now instead of distibuting the weight of the rack and bikes on the receiver and post, it's completely up to the bolt to keep you from losing the rack. The bolt threads get damaged too. I took this down a dirt road and nearly lost everything. I had to buy my own bolt with hd fender washers and lock washers to correct this. Thule should've provided this from the start. The current short bolt design where only one side of the receiver secures the rack is unacceptable. This rack is 1 star at best for the connection to the receiver.
Not what I hoped for. Didn't realize until afterwards that only the Thule locking hitch pin fits, as I ordered the eTrailer one, which is too large of a diameter. My bigger frustration is that I can only fit one adult bike and two kids, when I need two adults and two kids... The picture shows it's maxed out with three bikes. No way I could squeeze them tighter to fit a fourth bike.

Thule Passage Trunk Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - Hanging Style
Excellent quality. Easy assembly with clear instructions. Stable attachment to vehicle. The bike(s) are secure on the rack. I do have to remove the front wheel of my bike for transport because it rests too low to the ground. I purchased this bike rack so I can take my bike to different areas of town for my daily ride. I am very pleased with the price, processing and delivery of my purchase from etrailer.com.
The carrier works fine on larger (adult) sized bikes, but 20" kids bikes barely fit on the forks due to their spacing and their large plastic saddles and straps, and they only fit on the outermost saddles. This is probably true of most fork-type carriers, but customers need to be aware that the carrier won't fit more than one 20" bike on it. In general, I 'm happy with the carrier. One other note, after mounting it on the car and loading the bikes on it, retighten the straps holding it to the vehicle, and stop and do so again after driving a few miles, as they stretch a little under initial load.

RockyMounts DropTop Locking Truck Bed and Utility Track Bike Rack - 1 Bike - Thru-Axle Mount
Super great bike mount very strong and can handle all thru axles with key lock shipping was exelent and fast we are very happy with this transaction thanks.
Sure beats trying to lift the bike and thread a thru axle through a close tolerance bushing. I didn't need the locks or other hardware. Very well made, but it is pricey. I wish the mounting holes were slots, which would allow turning the handlebars to avoid bars of the adjacent bike.

Malone Hanger Spare Tire Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - Adjustable Arms
I got this rack for my 2011 Toyota RAV4. This rack is great easy to install and use. It holds up on long, bumpy rides. The only complaint that I have is that the bar that goes around the top of the spare tire rubs against my rear windshield wiper arm, but I removed the small piece of plastic molding at the base of the wiper arm and it no longer rubs.
Does not fit 3 bikes easily, my son's bike will not even fit on it. the hubs are not user friendly. I would not recommend

Malone Pilot Roof Mounted Bike Rack - Wheel Mount
This is my 2nd review for the same rack (as I was not able to update the previous review). I rated the rack 4 stars because there were missing tray caps, which didn't affect how the rack works or its performance. The etrailer team (Amy) reached out and got Malone to send me the missing caps. Now that's customer service. I ended up buying another one. Keep up the good customer service guys!
The rack is solid and works great. The reason not a 5 star is because one of the caps for the tray is missing. It doesn't affect how the rack perform, but I'd expect quality control would catch it. It's not etrailer's fault, but Malone (the manufacturer)

RockyMounts HotRod Truck Bed Bike Carrier - Thru-Axle Mount - Bolt On - Black
This is not the first bolt-on 12mm thru-axle fork mount I've attempted to use, but it IS the only one I've ever actually been able to use properly. I'm always please with RockyMounts quality and this is no different!
I ordered two of these and have used them all summer. They are heavy duty and work really well for my two mountain bikes. I mounted them on a 2x6 board and haul the bikes around inside the back of my suburban.

Malone Runway Spare Tire Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - Adjustable Arms
The eTrailer has been a God send and we are so grateful. Our son-in-law died from COVID last year which left our daughter and two grand-daughters alone. This eTrailer was a gift which allows the three of them to get out for bike rides whenever they need to “clear their heads” and be refreshed in God’s glorious creation. This is the ONLY three bike carrier we know of… and Thank You for making it available. God bless.
We received the bike rack very quickly and installed it on our 2011 Rav 4. The rack seems quite sturdy but we couldn't be confident in using it. The straps holding the unit onto the spare tire, when tightened as much as humanly possible, still left the hooks somewhat loose. We simulated a bouncy dirt rocky road and the straps worked their way loose towards the sides of the spare tire thus loosening the whole unit. We felt that the whole thing could easily come off the spare tire taking our new bikes with it. We just felt like it was too risky. The way the Rav 4 spare tire is mounted makes it hard to get the straps all the way straight under the tire and, therefore, leaves them vulnerable to working their way loose and off the tire.

Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
We have had the rack for a year and did not have a chance to use it until this past month. When we went to raise the arms to put the bikes on they were completely locked…we could not get them to release. We are seniors and need something with much more ease of movement. Very disappointed that this doesn’t work for us.
Great bike rack and very sturdy. It was more than I paid for other bike racks but it should last. Rust proof, easy loading and clips to keep bikes secure.

Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
We just completed an 8K mile RV trip with the Hollywood rack mounted on our rear hitch. We have 2 Lectric e-bikes, we purchased this rack because it was rated for the combined weight of our bikes. The rack performed perfectly! We were able to easily load and unload the bikes and the rack held up very well. While the photo doesn't highlight the rack, it does show the use of my etrailer adapter to support the Hollywood rack and our tow vehicle. The rack is nicely out of the way of the tow vehicle and has plenty of clearance from the airflow at the back of the RV.
Very solid construction. I have 2 heavy electric bikes and it seems to work fine. Not many racks are rated as high for weight.

Inno Tire Hold II Roof Bike Rack - Wheel Mount - Clamp On - Aluminum
I reserve 5 in any review I do for disruptive, mind-blowing, revolutionary, etc. This bike rack is not that. But, four stars means that this product is great ...and I am one picking SOB who does A LOT of research before buying anything. In fact, I ended up telling the owner of the local roof rack store (they sell only racks) about these racks. Anyway, they work kind of like a ski boot binding, opens like a clam shell and the bike pops into the rack and locks down tight very easily. No removing any wheels or anything else to do. I had imagined this very design before I found these racks because it's so obviously the best design. Anyway, as you can see from the picture, they hold two very heavy electric mountain bikes on top of the M3 neat as a pin! -- It's kind of the only rack to get. ....you;re welcome ;-)
So close! This rack is great, with a few caveats... First, it's almost too small for an XL (21" frame, 29" tires) mountain bike. I had to completely remove the adjustable wheel holder thingy on the rear arm (brace? lever? support?) to be able to properly fit my bike. Not a deal breaker, but not really working as intended, I think. Second, the front mounting bracket is... middling. It doesn't have a lever like the rear, and so tightness is purely dependent on how hard you can twist the little knob. Also, there's only one in the front, unlike the double setup in the rear. The brackets, themselves, aren't designed particularly well. I'm not sure what crossbars they were using as a baseline, but the angles just don't make sense. (at least to me...what do I know) What I do know, is that they don't grip the factory Outback crossbars very well, and I found myself constantly adjusting and tightening them to where I wouldn't get any sliding left to right on the crossbar. (I did finally get it to where I was satisfied, but it took some doing, and I imagine it would be like that every time if you wanted to take the rack off occasionally.) TL,DR: Does the rack do what I need it to do? Yes. Is the fitment a bit frustrating? Kinda. Are there other similar options out there? Not many, and none that I could find at this price point. Would I recommend, or buy again? Yes and Yes.

Thule Spare Me 2 Bike Rack - Spare Tire Mount - Folding Dual Arms
This bike rack works great. Took my bike on a cross country road trip from Tampa, Florida to Whistler, British Columbia and back with no issues. There was no slipping or excessive shaking with highway speeds up to 80ish mph. Encountered 105 degree heat, rain squalls and snow storms with no issues. No problems with the set up and the fact that the rear spare tire on my 2011 Toyota Rav4 is off center was not an issue as the rack can accommodate for this. It's a well made product from a reputable company. Make sure to read the directions as they advise against opening the rear hatch with the bike on the rack due to weight concerns. Shipping was quick as were replies to questions to customer service. Follow up correspondence from etrailer was also appreciated. Overall great experience, would highly recommend the product as well as etrailer. Thanks!
It's been just shy of one year since we purchased this for our Toyota RAV4's spare tire mount. It's been easy to install, use, and keep our bikes secure for trips both long and short. It has also been convenient that the assembly allows us to easily open and close the horizontal swinging trunk door of the car without straps or other parts getting in the way. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a safe, secure solution to moving two bikes around for compatible vehicles!

RockyMounts TomaHawk Roof Bike Rack for Fat Bikes - Wheel Mount - Clamp On - Aluminum
The RockyMounts Tomahawk bike-rack is a high quality aluminum frame, which will last years to come. And it's universal fit makes it easy to mount on any roof rack! My bike has big Bontrager tires which fit pretty well on the carrier. It took 15 minutes to assemble, but the instructions were not very clear. A [online] video was better help! I haven't used it on a trip yet, but so far so good!
This is my first Rockymount product, and they have won me over. This was well-designed and secures bicycles very well, despite the broad selection of wheel accomodations. In the future, I will not even look at the other two major bike rack makers. I really like how it requires common bicycle tools to disassemble, which makes me think it is more secure than all the other racks I own that have wingnuts everywhere.

Saris Bones 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
It has been pretty stable when using the Saris Bones 2. A little bit of a learning curve to use, but once you understand, it is very easy to use. It is very well made and I am very happy with the quality of service from etrailer.com
It is well designed, relatively intuitive (the installation videos on their webs site are a great help), and very stable when mounted on our car (We have a Volvo station wagon). I wish it had better strap management. When mounted on our car, there are four long lengths of unused strap that need to be coiled and stored so that don't flap around. I don't want to cut off the spare strap lengths because that would preclude using it mounted on a conventional trunk.

Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting
The rack carries the bicycle safely and securely, as advertised. However if some other method had been provided instead of pins that must be removed and reinserted to tilt the rack or fold the rack, I would have given the rack a higher rating. The pins work ok, but this feature could have been more user friendly. Also, I was concerned that I could carry my Bike Friday NWT, a bike with a very low crossbar and 20-inch wheels. I submitted the question of fit to etrailer and received a prompt assurance the the rack would work. It does, however the hoops that capture the wheels allow the wheels to settle deeper than if the bike had larger wheel (26" or more). My bike has fenders and I am planning to trim about an inch or so from the rear end of the front fender so that it doesn't hit the hoop. The technical team at etrailer are excellent. I have especially valued their installation videos when purchasing other products. etrailer gets the full 5 stars.
After a lot of research, I purchased this for my 2018 Jeep JL. According to what I read, it would fit my vehicle. I got it assembled and on the hitch. I really liked it. Loaded bikes, perfect. Then came the bad news. I tilted out the bikes to access the back end. It doesn't work. The lower part of the rack interferes with the spare tire and you can only open it a few inches. That was the whole reason I purchased this unit. So now I am stuck with a rack that I will have to completely remove each time I need to access the back end.

Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
The Destination bike rack works perfectly on my 2020 Pacifica and I have clearance going over speed bumps! I recently upgraded my bike to a Trek step through which hung too low on my old Thule rack no matter how the cross bar adapter was adjusted. Problem solved!
Generally pretty happy with the product. The one issue that I have had is that the spring loaded clip on the frame clamp ratcheting strap has broken and no longer provides spring loading and no longer secures the strap in place. Fortunately, I only carry a single bike and am able to use the other frame clamp, but if this one clip fails I am out of business until I am able to get replacement parts.

Kuat Trio Roof Bike Rack - Fork Mount - Clamp On - Aluminum - Gunmetal Gray
I got this since the rack I originally ordered was no longer in production. I really like that this rack is not the plain old boring solid black like most out there. It was super easy to install. BUT, keeping in mind I am blonde and prone to daft moments (or few), I kind of had issues putting my bike on the rack at first. With some jiggling and jangling of the fork mount, I was able to figure out that you pull on the end that does not have the lever and to loosen up the rubber stopper that connects to the lever to make room for the fork to mount to the skewer. And then it was easy there after! Derr... I drove in 20mph+ winds and on 70mph interstate with my bike on the rack and did not encounter issues, as well as through pouring rain. I did stop to check how secure my bike was mounted and it was fine. I tightened the fork mount a few times just for minor jiggling security's sake. I then drove on some rough-ish mountain roads to get to the trail head (yes, I know it says no off road, but c'mon, mountain bikers have to in order to get to the trails) and the bike remained secure the whole time. In all, so far, I highly recommend this product. I drive a 2015 Subaru outback with the stock roof rack and it fit fine, even with hatch door open. My bike is a 29 hardtail Haro. It fit fine.
I was excited to use the Kuat Trio because it has taken a different approach to locking. With every other roof bike rack I have used there is no way to lock the rear wheel. Kuat solved this by using a cable lock that can wrap around the bike frame and rear wheel. A simple solution for protecting your rear wheel from theft. The rack is very easy to install, but not the easiest, with 4 allen bolts and 2 wing nuts. The racks with the speed link are just a bit quicker to get on your roof. The Trio will take maybe one or two extra minutes to set up. After getting the rack on my roof I found it to be exceptionally solid, no worries about putting my beloved bikes on it. I was a bit skeptical of the rear wheel strap having both sides connected in one piece. But after putting a bike on I understood why Kuat did it. When you slide the wheel strap into position the other side of the wheel strap is perfectly aligned, you don't have to reach underneath to find and position the opposite side. The on my road bike I have Zipp 404s and the strap did fit over it with about 3 clicks to spare. With wheels deeper than the 404 you will want to add the strap extender. The skewer for the front fork is a great design. Out of the box it works with quick release and thru axle forks, no adapters! The design on the rack makes it so that it looks the best to have the rack on the driver side of the car. There is a cutout section with the Kuat logo and the skewer handle closes nicely inside. The rack does work on the passenger side if you flip the skewer around, but it does not look as fancy and neat as when it is installed on the driver side. Also the handle part of the skewer is easy to operate. It is larger than on most racks so you have more leverage when opening and closing it on the fork. But the knob on the opposite side of the skewer is on the small side and can be a touch difficult to turn when you are fine tuning it to change bikes. Last but not least, it is easily the best looking roof bike rack available. Kuat has done a great job with making it interesting to look at as opposed to the typical black or silver tray.

Swagman Pick-Up Truck-Bed-Mounted 2 Bike Carrier - Locking - Fork Mount
I used 2 inch square tubing cut the length of the tie down support bracket in my 2007 Honda Ridgeline and secured with a stainless bolt and wing nut, use a large enough washer to cover the diameter of the supply hole in the Honda Ridgeline bracket on the truck. A couple of notes: Be sure to use something as a cushioning gasket to insure a snug fit and to protect your truck lining. I used rubber or foam exercise mat cut to the same as the aluminum square tubing. Use a washer that a combination of hard plastic and metal to avoid the corrosive effects of dissimilar metals in contact with each other. last: My 26" full suspension bike fits, but I have swing it to one side slightly before i close the tailgate and lift the bike up and slide it down....It's a very snug fit but the suspension adds pressure to the tailgate and its works out very well. Or you could just use a tailgate extender.
Referring to special mounting instructions if you have a bed liner: (line #3). I do not have a bed liner, but I do have a molded plastic cap on my bed rails ('04 Ford F350). The first install over the plastic cap the locking pin or pin as called out in line #3 was nowhere near making contact with the metal lip of the metal bed under the plastic. What I did next on the second and final install was remove/cut away the plastic on the inside of the bed rail to allow the vertical portion of the "L" mounting bracket (Fig 4) to contact the metal bed. The locking pin is now at a position almost where it would protrude under the metal bed lip if I would remove the rest of the plastic under the horizontal portion of the "L" mounting bracket, I did not do that. After cutting a notch in the metal rail to accept the pin, the pin barely flushes out to secure the rack. A 1/4" longer pin would take care of this problem. One other thing that was not addressed in the install instructions was if you have a full size pick-up bed you are likely to attach the passenger side fork mount (Fig 2) to the right of the extension tube locking mechanism. The extension tube is a smaller diameter, so you will have resize the fork tube clamp (Fig 1) for the smaller tube. I can't explain how to do it other than it's a Chinese puzzle.

Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount
This carrier fit my car perfectly. It's quite stable even at highway speeds and fits my 2 bikes well. The only problem is the difficulty in getting the bike frame over/around the mounting brackets to the back position. Even rotating the middle brackets down didn't help a lot because it just hits the bottom of the frame instead of the top bar. Still, it gets my bikes where I want to go.
It not only wasn’t stable, it damaged my car in the process. It was sketchy with one bike on it, let alone three.

Hollywood Racks Express 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Fixed Arms
The bike rack is so easy to install and easily holds two adult mountain bikes firmly. I have only driven with them on back roads so I am not sure how they would do on an interstate or highway. My only gripe is that the padding is not sufficient in all areas and I had to supplement padding to protect the paint on the car. In all, very satisfied.
The picture shows that the rack will fit a G35 Infiniti, but when I tried attaching it to my car it didn’t fit properly. I called etrailer and they said that this particular rack is not a guaranteed fit, yet a G35 Infiniti is the picture that was on the box. Seems like a bait and switch to me.

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Subaru Crosstrek
Zach: Hey guys. Zach here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 on our 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. This is going to be a nice versatile bike rack that not only holds a lot of different bikes but it just looks good and it functions well. When I say it's very versatile, it holds a lot of different bikes especially because it's wheel not a design so I can put my carbon bike on here.Frame mounted bike racks aren't ideal for carbon bikes because it puts too much stress going down the road on those frames. It has a 60 pound capacity per bike so you can get a lot of those e-Bikes and some fat bikes on there. If you are carrying an e-Bike though, please take the battery off.

It's going to have a third point of contact for each bike.
Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Subaru Crosstrek
Adam: Hi everyone, Adam at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Transfer on our 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. So this is the gunmetal gray version, but we do have two different types and we are going to have black and metallic black as well. So go online and pick the one that's right for you. But this is going to be able to hold two different bikes. The cool thing about this bike rack, it doesn't have any frame contact. We are going to clamp down on our wheel here. So that's going to be great for your carbon fiber bikes, just so you don't do any damage or make any contact with that frame. One of the best features of this bike rack, it does allow you to tilt it with the bikes installed and what this is going to be good for, maybe you left something in the back hatch.

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro on our 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. This is gonna be a great way of hauling four bikes to and from your destination as long as you have a class II hitch or above. If you have an inch and a quarter class I hitch like we have today, then we can only carry up to two bikes and it's gonna be 35 pounds per bike, just keeping that in mind. And it does have a tilt away feature which is awesome for getting stuff out of your hatch but you have to take the bikes off to do that, so I'll show you that in just a bit. Right here we have three points of contact, two over the top tube and then an anti-sway strap right here. It's just gonna reduce the amount of movement it has and it's gonna help your bikes not collide with each other as much cuz if I took it off, notice we have a lot more movement.
Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman Chinook bike rack on a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. This is gonna be a great choice for transporting your bikes of up to 45 pounds per bike. Since it is a frame mount, if you have a custom paint job or a carbon frame style bike, this might not be the one for you, but we do have a cool tilt away feature, and that's gonna allow us to keep our bike on the rack and still have access to our hatch, and when you fold it back up, you're gonna hear an audible click letting you know that it is secure. We have three attachment points, a strap for each tire, and the frame mount. To take the bike off, we're gonna start with the straps and just swing them out of the way, and then keeping one hand on the frame so it doesn't fall on your vehicle, we can then push on these buttons and swing them up, and I like to just take the hooks off 'cause it makes it easier for me to take the bike off. And I also like to lower this center mass down by lifting up on this lever.
Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Hollywood Destination Bike Rack on a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. This is a good entry level bike rack 35 pounds per bike. And since it is a frame mount, if you had a custom paint job or your carbon frame style bikes, this might not be the one for you. But it's gonna be made out of steel, so it will be very durable, last a long time. and it's finished with a black powder coat making it rust resistant. We're gonna have three points of contact, keeping the bike on the frame, and that is a strap on each wheel and then this center frame mount.
Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

How's it going Ryan here at etrader.com. Today on our 2017 Subaru Cross Crosstrek we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium Pro 2 bike rack. Obviously with the rack in this position, you wouldn't have much luck getting in and out of the hatch. What we can do is come down here, flip this lever, and tilt the rack out of the way, then we'll have more than enough room to get all of our gear in and out of our hatch. Now this rack can hold up to two bikes, however if you need to carry an extra one, there is a three bike version available as well. Now the bike is held down at three points. We're going to have two straps here on the top two, and one strap down here.

We're going to start by releasing those and we can pull our bike off and set it off to the side.
