Big bikes deserve solid support. The NV 2.0 handles up to 60 lbs per bike, making it ready for electric bikes, carbon frames, and fat-tire setups. The platform design uses ratcheting wheel hooks that grab bikes securely by the front wheel with zero frame contact—perfect for delicate finishes or carbon builds. Each tray adjusts for different wheelbases up to 50" so you can mix bike types without hassle.
Running into the back for gear shouldn’t mean unloading your bikes. The NV 2.0 uses a spring-loaded foot lever that tilts the rack down even when fully loaded, keeping both hands free to control the drop. When the ride’s over, the same pedal folds the rack up flat for compact storage. The aluminum frame keeps the total rack weight at 52 lbs, so handling it is easy.
From skinny road tires to 5.0" fat rubber, the large front cradles and sliding rear straps adjust to fit. The included extender strap handles one fat bike, and additional extenders are available if you’ve got more. Standard wheel straps fit tires up to 3.0", and adapter kits bring support for 20"-24" wheels. Whatever your ride, the NV 2.0 fits it securely.
Trailside tune-ups just got easier. The integrated Trail Doc repair stand clamps onto your bike’s seat post or top tube and holds it steady for adjustments or cleaning. The rotating, rubber-coated clamp protects your finish and locks in place when not in use. A protective cap covers the housing when you prefer to roll without it.
The NV 2.0 installs tool-free with a hand-tightening cam knob that expands an internal wedge to take out hitch play. A locking hitch pin and keyed-alike cable locks keep the rack and bikes secure with just one key. Built from lightweight aluminum with a metallic black powder coat, the rack resists rust and stays steady mile after mile.

Once assembled, this bike rack appears very sturdy and solidly built. A few assembly hints for you:
One person can do this, but 4 hands are better when installing the trays. Note that there are openings on either side of the trays shaped to accept the nut - and then insert the tray bolts into the round cavities on opposite side. I found that adding a strong box to a table made a good work surface.
The rack will be used to transport bikes on an 800 mile ride between homes, and I am looking forward to not having bikes swaying around like on my hanging hitch.
Just got my rack from etrailer. Free shipping was great and arrived early. Etrailer had the best price on this rack. 20% lower than anywhere else. Plus free shipping. Can't beat that. Customer Service was outstanding. Called a couple of times to check on estimated delivery. Will definitely use etrailer again.

This is one professional business. Great service and follow through. I ordered a Kuat bike carrier and it even happened to be on sale - welcome surprise. One other item I ordered and later decided I did not want, called to arrange a return. Again, no hassle and made it very easy to print a return shipping label and ship it. The lady who helped with the return was a joy to work with. Again a nice experience. Great line of products and in my earlier RVing days, wish I would have known about them. Was incredibly happy to find this as an open box special, I don’t mind spending on quality but savings is savings. It came in a like new box and I don’t think it was ever opened. Kuat makes the best of the best for racks. And etrailer has the best selection, prices and customer service!
Great rack and was fairly easy to install. My only gripe is that it took almost 4 months to get it. Shipping was fast and etrailer did a good job to update backlog status on the website. Good price point for a high quality rack. I would have given it 5 stars but I was disappointed on how Kuat handled my inquiry regarding the delay.
Rock solid. Well packaged upon arrival. Instructions clear and easy to follow. Rack is heavy so you need a large flat bench or table to assist in assembly and another pair of hands or leveling blocks (I used some of the packaging foam). Immediately took a 700 mile road trip with two bikes. No rattling or any movement at 80+ mph interstates and curvy mountain roads. Worth the extra money versus other name racks.
EVERY BRAND HAS ITS PROS AND CONS. THE PROS ON THIS RACK IS THE HIGH QUALITY OF MATERIALS AND CONSTRUCTION AND THE INNOVATIVE FEATURES. THE RACK IS EASY TO USE AND EASY TO INSTALL. I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE INTEGRATED BIKE STAND. IT IS EASY TO USE, UNOBTRUSIVE, AND COMES IN VERY HANDY WHEN YOU WANT TO MAKE A TWEEK ON YOUR BIKE WHILE AT THE TRAIL HEAD OR IN THE PARKING LOT. I KNOW THERE MUST BE A NEGATIVE TO THIS RACK, BUT AFTER A YEAR OF USE I HAVEN’T FOUND IT YET. IT IS A BIT PRICEY, AND IF YOU DON’T CARE ABOUT DURABILITY, QUALITY OF CONSTRUCTION, OR ADDED FEATURES, THEN A LESS EXPENSIVE BRAND MAY WORK FOR YOU AND YOU WILL SAVE A FEW BUCKS. ALSO, IT IS A BIT HEAVIER THAN SOME OTHER RACKS, BUT I AM IN MY 70’S AND I CAN HANDLE IT FINE.
I love this rack! Fits all my bikes and has adjustments so different combos of bikes fit handlebars over seats etc. only thing is change is, I use padding under the rear tire strap as the plastic step scratches up my rims.
Holds my two e bikes 40 plus pounds each, well built (you need extra hands to assemble rack on main stem) well labeled parts on ware thy attach overall pretty good bike

Best bike rack I've ever owned. Bikes are extremely secure and can be loaded and off loaded with great ease. Every time I see somebody struggle with their bikes I just smile. Well worth the money. Would purchase again in a heart beat!

The Kuat NV 2.0 bike hitch and extension hitch have been great products for our family. We use it for the regular hitch for quick two bike trips to the beach and the extension when the entire family is taking a ride or we’re heading out on a family road trip. These hitch racks are a safe secure way to transport bikes.
This is rack’s construction is a rock, heavy hitch tube and the scissor extension swing is solid due to the ball barring lock feature in the mounting tube. The ease of mounting bikes with tire saddles, installing and construction quality excellent. Purchased the wide tire kit adds flexibility to my use of road to fatter tire bikes. Being able to install the bike service bracket is a breeze for airing up, lubing. Use it on my Hylander to my truck camper
Very impressed with the ease of installation, features and function of the KUAT NV 2.0 hitch-mount bike rack. Assembly instructions are well done and assembly took about 30 minutes after reading instructions and watching a video. Really like the dedicated 2" square bar that goes into the hitch receiver instead of a smaller 1.25" bar with a 2" adaptor. Makes for a more stable and very solid installation, especially with KUAT's anti-rattle device. The hitch mount really locks down tight. Also going to like the built in trail doc bike stand for doing maintenance and repairs. Etrailer's product video was very helpful when deciding on purchasing this bike rack.

We use this rack 2-3 times per week and it has functioned flawlessly. Great design makes it very simple and quick to load and unload. Very stable on rough gravel roads. We add a front tire strap when off-roading for extra security.
Product was pretty easy to assemble. If assembled it solo, and it was a bit tricky keep the trays level as I bolted them to the center beam. I used the foam blocks that came with the packaging to keep them level as I tightened the bolts. The product looks fantastic in gloss black (matches my trim). Have not mounted the bikes yet (it's winter) though I did mount the rack in the hitch and took a test drive ... all good.
Awesome bike rack. This solid rack is a must for hauling expensive and heavier e bikes .
I am very impressed with the quality and it was very easy to put together. Etrailer was awesome and very prompt shipment.
What an awesome rack. The modular aspect of it is fantastic. Sometimes it’s just my and my wife, no need for a 4 bike carrier. Other times, another couple may want to go with us, not a problem, add on the extension to make it a four bike rack. I’ve never timed it, but I don’t think it takes more than 15 minutes to add the extension. The hitch tension wheel (sorry, don’t recall what KUAT calls it) is great. Pin the hitch, hand tighten the wheel and you’ll think that the rack was part of your vehicle. No swaying or bouncing around. The cradle and hook system is quite secure, I’ve never felt unsure about it. The built in cable locks are nice if you are overnighting at a hotel, great peace of mind that your bikes will still be there in the morning. The drop mechanism is spot on, the hatch clears when you drop it down, if only by a smidge causing my wife to gasp once or twice that her paint would get scratched by a handle bar. Naturally, lifting the rack back up with 4 bikes loaded on it can be a chore but the rack never claimed to defy the laws of physics. The only downsides: the rack is too heavy and awkward to handle with the extension. If you have the extension on and loaded, there is a lot of weight back there. This rack is for my wife’s Expedition, no small vehicle, and if I change lanes too quickly, it will definitely give you some sway. I could only imagine what it would feel like in a smaller vehicle. Obviously, with the extension on, it adds quite a bit of length to your vehicle. However the last 2 points are easily managed simply by remembering the bike rack is on there.
We have been using a Yakima rack for about 8 years and 40,000 miles. This last winter it failed and we began looking for a replacement. The Kuat is top shelf. Easy to assemble, I had my 4 year old granddaughter hold while I ran the bolts. The whole unit is much more stable the it's predecessor. Rock solid once mounted on the Jeep. etrailer service was super. Price was great and everything was delivered on time as expected.

Fantastic bike rack!! After getting fed up with loading my bike up repeatedly in the back of my 2003 GMC Sierra pickup (with a hard top cover) I decided to purchase this kuat rack. I wish I would’ve sooner. Assembly was easy and straight forward however I would use a magnetic parts bowl if I had it to do over. Kuat doesn’t included any extra nuts so I had to contact them to get another after I dropped and lost one (they were very polite and shipped one right away.) As far as function goes this rack is really easy to use. Just slide it into the receiver and put the lock pin it. Just like in the video you then tighten the knob at the back to secure the hitch so there is no movement. Load your bikes up and secure them and you’re ready to go. I did utilize the retractable cable locks after my ride when stopping to eat and they are very easy to use. No worries at all about a stolen bike. And the tilting feature is great too. It does allows you to access your truck bed with the tailgate down just as in the video. As an added bonus this rack fits perfect in my standard size truck bed even with the hard top cover closed (my truck is too long to fit in the garage with the rack folded up installed in the hitch.) Michael H. was outstanding providing schematic drawings with the dimensions so I would know this before my purchase (they’re on the Q&A page.) The free shipping was very fast so that made the purchase even better. I will definitely be a repeat customer as eTrailer is the one of the best companies out there with great customer service and timely communication. Great job!!
the bike rack is great a little heavy but other wise great. after a few longer trips i let u know but the not raddling or moving around is great.
After much searching, I decided to purchase the Kuat NV 2.0.
I was fairly easy to put together….” Read the directions “ it will tell you exactly what and how to put it together.. Great instructions easy to follow. I was able to adjust the wheel cradle to fit my bike quickly.
I was a SMALL problem…. I did not get any information from etrailer like I have in the passed… which was strange. So I did not know if they were processing my purchase or not… The money came out of my account. So I after my bike rack showed up… I sent a text to them, with in minutes I received at response, that said they were looking into the problem.. maybe 20 mins later I got a response from them … It seems I Fat Fingered my 1 letter on my e-mail address so etrailer could not send tracking information… Thank you so much GREAT SERVICE. I will use them again
