Thule Hitching Post Pro Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches
The good: I like the way the bikes are held in and the ability to add the upright adapters to the bike frame holders. The straps are quality too. For a jeep with a spare tire, this is the perfect length to clear it. This rack is 5 stars from the bike holders to the base of it. The bad: the 2"receiver adapter and bolt are insufficient. I wish they made this in a solid 2" hitch. The entire setup is held into the receiver by a very short bolt. It only goes about half way into the receiver tube. So your hitch is only "secured" on one side. A hitch pin or bolt should go through the receiver tube completely imo so it can be secured on the other end with a retaining clip or nut. Because this only goes in the one side, the entire weight of the rack plus bikes are held tight to one side of the receiver by the undersized bolt and washer. A few bumps down the road and that bolt loosens. Now instead of distibuting the weight of the rack and bikes on the receiver and post, it's completely up to the bolt to keep you from losing the rack. The bolt threads get damaged too. I took this down a dirt road and nearly lost everything. I had to buy my own bolt with hd fender washers and lock washers to correct this. Thule should've provided this from the start. The current short bolt design where only one side of the receiver secures the rack is unacceptable. This rack is 1 star at best for the connection to the receiver.
I bought this bike rack back in April but wanted to make sure I used it to give the best review. First I want to say I did a lot of research on bike racks and found this one to be the best one to fit my needs. The best price I found was on etrailer.com, at the time it was When I called the customer service to place my order, I spoke to Dan. He was very pleasant on the phone and took the time and listened to what I needed and understood my concerns. I ordered the bike rack and also ordered the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device and the Thule Cable Lock w/ One Key System Lock. Dan suggested I also get the Thule Bike Adapter Bar, which I never even thought of getting. Delivery was in about two business days, which was really fast and at the time of order they were running a special free delivery over $99. When I went to put it together I noticed I was missing the flat cap screw M6 x 16mm, part number #853-5787-02. I emailed Dan and within 24 hours received an email that the part was sent out and also in the email their was a link to track the order. After I received the part I did notice that the flat cap screw was actually in the 2 inch adaptor sleeve. The instructions were very easy to read, and it took me about 20 minutes to put together. I did have an issue when I positioned the stinger into the cradle, with the 8mm locking nut, it was not staying tight and when I took it off I noticed the threads inside were gone, so I ended up going out to Lowes and buying a new one and its holds perfectly fine. I also had a question about that part because it is not a locking part and was worried someone would try to steal the rack. I contacted etrailer.com to find if they make a locking device for this and they said no but I can contact Thule to double check, I'm still waiting for an answer back from Thule. The weather finally broke and we installed the rack onto my hitch, tightened it and it doesn't rattle. When I finally used the rack and put my bike on, it did sway a little but at 50 mph I was very happy with it. The trailer comes out just enough away from my car that I do not have to fold completely out and I can open my trunk with no issues. I am very happy with my purchase and had a great customer experience with Dan. Would highly recommend ordering from them to anyone.

Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
I like the overall design of this rack, but unfortunately after hauling a couple bikes around for a while the point where the crossbar connects has apparently rounded off so the rack swings back and forth. I've used rope to tie the ends of the rack to the car to stop this from getting worse, but it's inconvenient. Note: the hitch connection itself is good and solid, but the point where the crossbar connects to the bar coming from the hitch has gotten loose and there's no way that I can see to tighten it.
It works great! Easy, quick, you know. One needs to screw in the hitch bolt, for some reason, before latching it. Other than that, it makes going bike riding way easier.

Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
Truly grooving on my wife's new Swagman Chinook bike rack. She wanted to be able to transport her nice road bike easily without throwing it in the back of her car, and since a roof rack is out of the question, this Swagman model fit the bill perfectly. It arrived quickly on the anticipated date. Kudos to etrailer.com for the email updates to keep me informed of my purchase. Within one hour, it was installed on my wife's 2014 Mazda3 hatchback. The Swagman is heavy and solid, which is reassuring as it makes me feel confident that it will keep the bikes secure. It also makes me feel like I got my money's worth. A ratchet wrench and Phillip's head screwdriver were the only tools required for the easy install. I did my research before purchasing the Chinook model as I was also eyeballing a very similar Thule rack that was slightly more expensive. I spoke with an etrailer.com expert who gave me the lowdown on both models. Ultimately, the Swagman won out because it has a smaller 'footprint' while extended or folded up ... and also can tilt away from the car for easy access to the hatchback area. Very convenient! FYI: Mazda doesn't make a trailer hitch for the Mazda3 as it's a small car with a small engine and has no business towing anything. Thankfully, the Curt company makes an aftermarket frame and trailer hitch that fits the Mazda3 hatchback perfectly with no drilling. Stupidly, I purchased it from another online company thinking I was getting a good deal. Turns out etrailer.com had it for less with FREE shipping. Oh well ... live and learn. Now I know that etrailer.com is one-stop shopping for bike racks AND trailer hitches. (Full disclosure: I had the garage down the street install the frame as it's easier with a lift) Only snafu: the shipment contained an extra set of keys that I assumed was for the hitch bolt lock (there was also a set of keys on the bolt itself). I spent 15 minutes using those keys trying to figure out how to remove the lock from the bolt to install it on the hitch. The keys just wouldn't turn in the lock. I called etrailer.com and Kevin told me to try the other set of keys ... and they worked. So an extra set of keys came with it that did absolutely nothing ... weird! Obviously, I can't speak to the longevity and durability of the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack as I just installed it. What I can speak to is the sturdiness of it, the ease of the installation and my complete satisfaction with the good folks at etrailer.com.
I ordered the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack on line from etrailer and so far have been very satisfied. The bike rack was delivered in less than a week. Unpacking the rack and assembly was fairly straightforward. I have read some reviews that complained the assembly instructions were a bit vague. I didn't have a problem but can see where others without a mechanical background get confused. The rack is very sturdy, but there is some side to side play in the tilt mechanism. I'm not sure this can be avoided with a rack that folds down. Installing the Curt trunk stabilizing strap takes most of the sway out of the rack. Installation is fairly easy and quick. It takes me 6 - 7 minutes to install the back on my hitch, and to install the bike and be ready to drive away. That seems reasonable to me. So far I've only loaded 1 bike. I've included pictures of my installation on a 2014 Mercedes Benz E350 sedan. Clearance between the bikes, the rack and the car are good. With the bike loaded in the inside, most forward position, I have 6" clearance between the pedal and the bumper. With the bike removed, the center support folded flat and the rack folded up in the storage position, I have 4" clearance between the closest part of the bike rack (the fold down hinge assembly) and the back bumper of the car. I am able to open the trunk of the car without removing the bikes or using the tilt feature, but I do have to remove the stabilizing strap first. Overall, I'm very pleased with the bike rack and think it will serve me much better than my old strap on rack. Since the weather has been cool since getting the bike carrier, I haven't taken any long trips to give it a real workout.

Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
First-time rack buyer / owner / installer. The rack arrived in a timely fashion, maybe a day or 2 ahead of schedule. It was well packaged. I’m LOVING this bike rack. It was easy to put together and to mount on my new Honda Passport. Thus far, no squeaks in my 2” receiver. Hardest part of initial set-up is figuring out the best way to position two bikes. Trial & error and some patience. The directions weren’t clear as to where the 2 left-over screws went. I found the answer in another review and have posted a pic in case others have the same problem (photo with pen pointing at screw). These screws go in the underneath side of both of the folding arms. They appear to keep the wheel wells from sliding off in case in you drive with an empty, un-folded rack, and forgot to tighten down the wheel wells. The folding arm push / pull pins can be difficult at times. I coated the tips with some lube. That and a little jiggling seems to solve that issue. I guess it’s better for the pins to be snug vs popping right out. I added a small Master lock to the hitch pin (in lieu of the provided cotter pin) as a theft deterrent. I read that a 3/16 shackle lock will fit into the bike clamp down arms to also act as a deterrent. I had an old 3/16 lock that did snugly fit and appeared to be locked. HOWEVER, I yanked on the lock and it came open as there isn’t quite enough clearance for the shackle to lock. I discovered that longer 3/16 shackle locks are hard to find. Have attached a photo of the lock that actually fits and works (Ace Hardware). One lock on the upper clamp down arm will secure both arms as the lower arm can’t be removed without removing the upper arm. The clamp down arms appear to be coated to prevent damage to your bike. I’ve tried a simple rag and ultimately settled on pool noodle pieces as a precautionary measure. I CAN NOT open my tailgate (regardless of whether or not the rack is fold up and in the bike carry position). If that’s a concern for you, then spring for the more costly titling version. My back-up camera still functions.
The Swagman XTC-2 platform bike carrier arrived very quickly from etrailer and in good shape, the actual carrier box is inside another shipper box, which I'm sure helped with its condition. Assembly was relatively quick and painless, even though the instructions could be a little more thorough. Installing the carrier on the back of our Jeep Patriot also was quick, it helps to have an extra ratchet & 3/4" socket laying around for just this purpose. Installing the bikes takes a little patience and trial and error the first time you try and put them on the carrier. It's easy enough to adjust the wheel holders to fit the wheelbase of your bikes, but for us at least, the challenge was trying to swing the vertical support bar up into position after putting on the first bike (closest to the Jeep). We couldn't angle the bike enough toward the Jeep to have the bar clear the bike. We learned that the easiest way to secure the first bike was to remove the ratcheting frame hooks altogether, put the bike in the carrier, swing up the vertical support bar, put in the pin, and then slide one of the frame hooks down on the bar. The outside bike is much easier because you can set the bike in the carrier at whatever angle you need, not being limited by the back of the vehicle. One thing we did to protect the bike frames was to use some foam pipe insulation as cushion between the frame hook and the frame (see pictures). Once you get a system for installing the bikes, it is very quick to load/unload them. The rack seems to be well made and doesn't wiggle excessively when traveling. All in all a good product for a good price, would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a platform bike carrier.

Swagman Trailhead Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting
etrailer has the best pre- and post-sales customer service I've ever seen! I started out not knowing anything about hitch-mounted racks. So I wrote to etrailer telling them about my car and type of hitch I was about to have installed. Samuel wrote back with lots of great information tailored specifically to my car. He even included a photo that looked just like my 2017 white VW GTI with a hitch and rack installed. Okay something of a coincidence. But the rest of the assistance I got from the crew at etrailer was just as prophetic. I went into this a novice and came out knowing lots more about hitches and racks and finding the rack best suited to my situation. I have a small car, a class 1 hitch and a heavy mountain bike. I got exactly what I needed. As to the Swagman rack itself, it works fine. If I had a different situation I would probably buy a platform rack as they are easier to load. There's no reason to buy a bike rack anywhere else.
First off, thanks to Jason T. or "Troop". The exemplary customer service he provided is rare these days. Troop made several calls to the various manufacturers to ascertain which bike rack would afford me the most ground clearance as my new VW Golf sits low to the ground and my old bike rack frequently scraped the ground when I went up even a slight up hill grade. His efforts paid off as he found me the best bike rack for my car, the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Carrier. It sits up off the ground just high enough that it doesn't scrape on my driveway. It is also sturdy and holds my bikes securely. And, the delivery was amazingly fast. I had my rack in about 2 days! Note to Troop, see my Pittsburgh Pirates Logo on my bumper in the attached pictures? Pirate Fans persevere! The Bucco's will be coming after your Cardinals this year! Thanks again Troop!

Swagman Trailhead Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting
Draw-tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver Class I - 1-1/4 Swagman Trailhead 3 Bike Rack - Tilting The Draw-tite Sportframe class 1 trailer hitch and Swagman Trailhead 3 bike rack were ordered for a 2017 Honda Fit. The online order and shipping went just as expected. The trailer hitch and bike rack are very heavy duty. I recommend watching the trailer hitch install video before installing, whereas the video is very helpful. The bike rack has triangles that you can rotate to find the best fit for your bicycle's frame. The rubber straps are thick and secure the bicycles when you pull them tight. This bike rack will stay on the vehicle for 6 months each year. The tilt feature and folding arm feature are must haves for a smaller hatchback. I am pleased with this purchase, it appears to be good quality and good value.
My previous bike rack was a hitch mounted Yakima. It was sturdy but not well suited for my low Subaru Impreza. It stuck out too far and hung too low so that I had to inch my way down the driveway or over speed bumps for fear of it bottoming out. A roof rack or a rear window mounted rack was not suitable since I wanted to be able to also carry two kayaks. First, I tried to modify my rack by shortening the part that sticks out of the hitch. I tried to saw off about 6 inches so it wouldn't stick out so far but the steel was much too hard. I ended up ruining several metal-cutting blades on my power saw before I gave up. I looked for other rack options. There weren't many out there. But eventually, I found something that met my needs. I purchased the "Swagman Trailhead 3 Bike Fold Down Bicycle Hitch Rack" in 2013 from eTrailer.com. The part that enters the hitch curves up to increase clearance from the ground. It is sturdy and sticks out far enough so I can still open my trunk hatch without having to lower the main vertical bar on the hitch (though I could if I wanted to). It isn't often I am really excited about a piece of gear but this hitch rack has made me worry-free when I transport my bicycle(s) via car. The only thing I don't like is that it is advertised as being a 3 bike carrier but it only fits 2 hybrid bikes. Maybe it will fit 3 skinny racing bikes but for the average rider, don't expect to fit on more than 2. But my experience is that is the case for all bicycle racks.

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Gunmetal Gray
This thing is built like a tank! It is of the best fit and funtion I have seen in a bike rack! Solid as can be, fits my bikes perfectly and looks awesome! Plus it folds completely out of the way to access the rear liftgate on my 2022 Rav4!
Great service from etrailer and the rack arrived as expected. Fairly easy assembly. OK video on Kuat’s site, but didn’t cover the foot pedal. Really glad we got the 2” hitch. It tightened up and we’re impressed with the quality and the stability of the rack. We haven’t done a road test yet, but look forward to putting it to the test. We have a Ford F-150 and it works great. The bikes were fairly easy to load with the batteries out and two people. We do need the strap extenders for our RadMini Step Thru’s. The tires are too big for the ones that come with. Only one set of extenders came with the bike and one adapter for a smaller tire. It’s okay, but since it’s a two bike unit, would have been nice to have both extenders. Otherwise, we are really liking the look and stability.

Swagman Upright Bike Rack for 1 Bike - Roof Rack Crossbars - Frame Mount
Planning on bringing bikes while camping. I mounted 2 of the Swagman bike racks to my new Sportrack on my pop-up camper. The bikes fit perfectly. The racks seem sturdy enough. Not heavy duty, but for my needs they should be fine. Assembly was relatively fast and easy.
We have used the Swagman Roof Rack a number of times when we have needed the additional bike carrying capacity. It took a couple attempts to get the initial spacing of the bike rack properly balanced on the van’s roof rack as recommended by the instructions. But it was easy to do and once set was very easy and quick to put on and take off. The rack works great, the bike is easy to put into place and secure. The bike and rack are very stable and quiet and haven’t required any mid-trip adjustments. We always put the cheapest bike on the roof (lol) but do use a bit of duct tape to protect the finish just Incase. We are very satisfied with the rack and consider it quite a deal for the money.

Malone Runway HM2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
400 miles and held up well. $1500 worth of bikes, so I stopped a few times to make sure everything was holding up. It did well! You can decide which way to put the “hooks” that go over the frame onto the rack when you assemble it. This will eliminate the problem of not being able to secure both bikes if one frame is lower. It’s also heavy as heck (with the bikes on it) to tilt to access the cargo in the hatch. For me, I can handle it...for my wife, not so much. Don’t plan on getting to the cargo unless you are strong and have a good back.
The amount you save on this bike will not counter the amount you pay for the damages to your bike after it fails on you on the highway. :-( When i purchased this rack June 2020, I was stoked for using it for my mountain bike this summer, and paying half the price of the competing brands out there. When i received the rack, I assembled it as the directions told me but then found out that the mounting piece was initially installed backwards by the manufacturer. I fixed that myself, but then the locking knob also broke off on initial install (see pic below). This is what caused problems. Not only could the bike not be secured without an additional lock, the actual knob broke off in transit. I made due by strapping my bike down with what i could--but eventually, on the highway, the top piece flew off and sent my bike dragging behind me until i could safely stop. The damage to the bike was about $600. Not only costly, but also very dangerous to me and the drivers behind me. So--my take away, is even though this rack looks ideal for your adventures--be aware, the components and initial assembly will fail on you.

Rhino-Rack Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Tilting
I purchased this bike rack a year ago and I use it A LOT. I had to buy and install a stabilizer because without it, the unit would sway back and forth even without a bike on it (very noisy). This makes removal more cumbersome but since I keep the hitch on year round it doesn't matter to me. The tilting function is fabulous allowing easy use of my RAV4 hatchback. I can even tilt it down with a bike on it. I got the 2 bike hitch. Plenty of room for two bikes to fit without rubbing. Lastly, the hitch has a sizable through-hole on the bottom to thread a good sized cable so I can lock my bike up. Sturdy. I highly recommend.
The unit ‘s simplicity is a real plus. It takes less than 3 minutes to put the rack on the vehicle. It is well built and very durable and has a nice feature that allows you to open the rear hatch for SUV owners without removing the rack.

Swagman Race Ready Roof Bike Rack - Wheel Mount - Clamp On
I am satisfied with the product except the bolts that attract the Swagman roof bike rack to Rhino-Rack VA 2500 Crossbars because the bolts are too short and the spare bolts provided are not enough. I had to go to Home Depot to get the similar bolts to replace all original bolts. Overall, I really love this Swagman Roof bike rack. I already test drive on freeway at speed 65 mph and everything is good and smooth when I checked after I got off from freeway in parking lot. Everything is perfect as advertising. See picture attached from my 2008 Nissan Altima 3.5L V6 SE Sedan.
Sure said it was compatible with the crossbars I bought. It is not

Curt Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting
Nice bike rack ! Saddles are well made and none of the ears that hold the straps in place have broken like they have with other brands I've owned. It came with 1 strap for each saddle and the straps seem just a tad stretchy. I looked on line and found that Home Depot has a good price for the straps so I now have 2 straps on each saddle. I've got it on a 1&1/4 hitch, but it came with an adapter for a 2 inch. It holds 3 road bikes. I used it all the time.
We are very happy with the Curt Bike Rack. It fits our 2 fat tire bikes and our tandem bike to the back of our motorhome with no problems.

Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount
Fits perfectly on our Lexus CT200h. Only on the old LS400, the side straps have to be fastened to the wheel arch edge, since the upper trunklid gap is to narrow for inserting the strap hooks. Mounting of two bikes is (with some routine) quickly done, and they stay safe even for longer and faster routes. For transporting three (mountain) bikes, though, the design doesn't seem big and robust enough. Nevertheless, the price-benefit-fun ratios are way better than reasonable.
We are very pleased with the quality and ease of use for our like-new purchase. From the online shopping experience with etrailer.com through multiple outings already, this bike carrier more than meets our needs. Thank you!

Curt Clamp-On Bike Rack for 3 Bikes - 2" Ball Mounts
This is the best product online. I had to do a few adjustments to make room for the clamp on the trailer hitch. The particular ball hitch I had had a reinforcement welded to the ball which I had to have a piece taken off. Once it was filed down the clamp worked like a champ. Now I have a $200 bike rack that I purchased a year ago that is obsolete. The product arrived early and in good shape. I would definitely buy this bike rack and use this company again!
Great product that has served us well for over a year now mounted on a Draw-Tite 4285 draw bar with Curt A-90 ball, all purchased here. We can carry two bikes with this setup while pulling our small T@B travel trailer; not three due to limited clearance of our trailer's tongue jack, but that's all we need. It's fairly quick to setup & take down, though caution is required before releasing the tension when removing (I can mitigate the snapping together of the V supports by standing between the two horizontal support arms & keeping my own arms away from them). The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I wish it was a few inches taller for better clearance between bikes & hitch coupler. It mounts very solidly though, and the sturdy rubber straps keep bikes secure. A hitch tightener can make it even more solid if the drawbar is loose. We've not had any problems after a dozen trips over the last year.

Saris Bones EX 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
This bike rack is perfect for our Kia carnival minivan. Very sturdy and does not put pressure on the back of the van.
Great product so far! Easy to install and adjust. A little tricky to load 2 large handlebar mountain bikes and a third smaller bike, but we just turned them sideways with the front wheels taken off. We had racks on bikes which were probably the impediment. We got them on though! Love how it folds up easy for quick storage. Works great on 2014 Subaru Outback.

Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms
Perfect for my 2019 RAV-4. I like this product because it allows me to drive and park without having to worry about height clearances in the city and parking was still navigable. Definitely worth the money!
First, etrailers.com is the BEST! Okay, this rack is amazing. If it was made in the U.S.A, I believe it would be closer to $ 800.00+, it's not, thus the incredible price point, imo. Incredible craftmanship, sturdy, versatile, nice to look at, as well. Very detailed instructions included. Fits my 2015 Prius 4 perfectly. Our beach cruises both required adaptor bars. I opted to wait on the bike rack, to ensure a good fit, etc. then purchase the adaptor bars. After much research, I went with Delta adaptors, I wish etrailers.com carried them, but they do not. Nevertheless, this rack is tops, highly recommend. Thank you for reading!

Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting
I installed this rack onto a Curt trailer hitch which is mounted onto a 2017 Honda Fit. I have been using it intermittently for several months, probably about 5 times with one bike and twice with two bikes. I give some pros and cons below and then elaborate. Pros: easy to assemble, easy to mount and dismount bikes, easy to lock and unlock, how to put the rack into different positions is intuitive Cons: inconvenient to put the rack into different positions, inconvenient to mount the rack onto the hitch, rack protrudes about 15 inches from bumper when in flipped up position (seems very vulnerable to someone backing into it in a parking lot, very inelegant looking I say the repositioning is intuitive because there is really only one way you could possibly place the pins for each position. But removing and replacing two pins is much less convenient than turning a knob or a lever, like some racks do. Also many racks fold and flip in such a way as to look very unobtrusive when in non-use mode. This one looks like kind of a monstrosity. That does not really bother me but it might bother some owners. The part that does bother me is how far it protrudes from the car. I back into parking spaces whenever possible to avoid someone bumping into the rack and damaging it (which happened to a friend). My number one suggestion for Curt is related to mounting the rack onto the hitch. Make it easier to tell when the holes are lined up so that the bolt/pin will fit and thread. As it is now, if you insert the rack as far as it can go it is way too far in. Ideally, it would be exactly lined up. Failing that, maybe some kind of click or other feedback to know at least that you are in the neighborhood. It would also be great to have an attaching device that is easier to fasten and unfasten than is the bolt/pin. Tip for mounting the rack onto the hitch: I assumed that it would be awkward to hold, what is it 46 pounds?, while trying to line up the rack probe with the receiver. If you have a garage with exposed collar ties, my solution could work well for you. I looped a cargo strap over a collar tie. Then I hooked both hooks of a bungie onto that loop. The idea is that you hook one of the bike frame holders of the rack onto the bungie, suspending the rack a few inches off the garage floor. This takes most of the weight of the rack so that you can just pull up or down and forward until you line up with the receiver. Tip for mounting bikes. Don't put the little screw into the post that prevents you from completely removing the bike frame holders. Remove both holders. Position the first bike, slide the holder into place, position the second bike, slide the holder into place. I found this makes it much easier, because you avoid parts of the bike hitting the holder as you are trying to get the wheels into place. The trick is that if you are mounting only one bike, don't forget to put the second holder back on - or maybe just stick it inside the car right away.
The rack carries the bicycle safely and securely, as advertised. However if some other method had been provided instead of pins that must be removed and reinserted to tilt the rack or fold the rack, I would have given the rack a higher rating. The pins work ok, but this feature could have been more user friendly. Also, I was concerned that I could carry my Bike Friday NWT, a bike with a very low crossbar and 20-inch wheels. I submitted the question of fit to etrailer and received a prompt assurance the the rack would work. It does, however the hoops that capture the wheels allow the wheels to settle deeper than if the bike had larger wheel (26" or more). My bike has fenders and I am planning to trim about an inch or so from the rear end of the front fender so that it doesn't hit the hoop. The technical team at etrailer are excellent. I have especially valued their installation videos when purchasing other products. etrailer gets the full 5 stars.

Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
This bike rack works great for our 2 Lectric 2.0 e-bikes. We mount it on our 2019 Honda Ridgeline. It folds up nicely when it’s on the truck and we are using our bikes. The locking mechanisms work well also. I contacted support for a smaller hook arm to clamp B over the bike frame. They knew exactly what I needed and shipped it - no problem.
I've been using this bike rack alongside a trailer hitch I got here for my small car (chevy bolt ev) and it was exactly what I was looking to get to haul around my fat tire mountain bike bike. Sometimes I throw two bikes on there (either an e-bike, slightly heavier at 60 lbs, or a 2nd mountain bike) and it's perfect.

Yakima EXO Swing Away 2 Bike Rack w/ Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches
Perfect for my needs, 2 bikes load easy and are secure. Gear tray is perfect dimensions for cooler and gear bags.
This thing is well built and Heavy! should work well for my needs. definitely have to load heavier things on the driver's side as it is off center and tilts to the passenger side when not loaded with gear. I also got the tabletop which now I realize is useless for my application. I am using this on my truck with a truck camper in the bed. this makes the table attachment shoulder high. wheels for the wheel kit at pneumatic and flat so I guess I will have to add air every time I intend on using them, I thought the description said they were solid wheels, but I must have read something wrong cause they are definitely phonematic.

Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
The Destination bike rack works perfectly on my 2020 Pacifica and I have clearance going over speed bumps! I recently upgraded my bike to a Trek step through which hung too low on my old Thule rack no matter how the cross bar adapter was adjusted. Problem solved!
I realy like how it holds my bikes securly in place. I also like that (without the bikes) I can open and close the hatch on my 2014 Hyundia Santa Fe. I have a 2" receiver on my car. We went away for a long weekend from CT to VT and had no issues with it holding my bikes. Would definetly recomend.

Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Speaker 1: Today on my 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, we're gonna be testing the Yakima Ridgeback two bike rack for inch and 1/4 and two inch hitches. Part number Y02457.We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look here. Starting out with the arms, at both ends of the arms here, we're gonna have the patented Yakima bottle openers with our cradles. They're gonna be stationary meaning they can not move back and forth or side to side, however they do have this super cushioned material here and that's gonna help protect your bike's frame once it's being installed, so it doesn't get any scratches on it.There's also padding on the zip strips, excuse me, to help with that as well. How's it's gonna grip your bike, will have three points of contact. We'll have two zip strips up at the top and one off to the side and that's gonna serve as an anti sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike to bike contact. Now, with the anti sway cradle, you can push this up and out of the way like I have it here and that's gonna help loading and unloading the bike's, much easier for you, so you don't have to shimmy back and forth trying to get around things.Let's go ahead and take the bike off.
Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, we're going to be test-fitting the Saris SuperClamp EX 2 Bike Platform Rack for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches. This is part number SA-4025-F.We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look here. Now, this can tilt away from the vehicle, like most platform racks, to gain rear hatch access. To do that, it has a very easy handle up at the front here. Just pull forward, and let it tilt toward you.
Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SA4026F
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport we're going to be test fitting the Saris Freedom Superclamp EX Four Bike Platform Rack for two inch hitches. Part number SA4026F.We already have it installed on our vehicle here. And like most platform style racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with all four bikes still attached. There's one thing you have to first. We're going to remove this snap pin up at the front here. Then we'll come up to the front and with this lever that you simply push down while holding onto the bike rack and let it lower down. That's pretty unique with a lot of these because most platform style racks will have these switches that are up closer towards the front.
Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport we're going to be test fitting the Thule T2 Pro XTB two-bike platform rack for 2" hitches, Part Number TH9034XT. We already have it installed on our vehicle here and we have a bike installed as well. Let's go ahead and take a closer look at it.This is much more of a high end platform style bike rack in that when it tilts away with both bikes attached to get rear hatch access you don't have to reach forward and grab a handle or pull out a pin while holding onto the bike rack and trying to juggle everything at once. Instead, we have this handle at the front where you can just as easily come back here, give it support if need be, but pull it towards you and let it tilt forward. Now we have full hatch access to get whatever we need and plenty of space in between the bike rack and the bumper to do so as well. Also, there's more than enough space in between our hatch and the actual handlebars, so that's not going to be an issue at all either. To lift it back into its original position, it's just as easy.
RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Speaker 1: So today in our 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts BackStage two bar platform rack for two inch hitches. Part number RKY10002. We have a bike installed on the rack, and this is a pretty unique bike rack when it comes to platform styles, because it has two really big functions about it. Like most platform styles, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached to gain rear hatch access. And to do that, they have this blue handle at the end, and you hold onto the bike rack, release that and let it come towards you. That's pretty nice, because most of the other platform style racks will have either the pins or switches up towards the front, which can be kind of easy, or 'scuse me, which can be kind of hard to get to, because you have two bikes attached and you have to reach through them.So pulling that lever towards us, and then I get it to come towards us.
Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, we're going to be test fitting the Inno Aero Light QM two bike platform rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number INH330.We are going to have a bike installed on our rack here, so let's go ahead and take a closer look. This is a pretty unique design when it comes to platform style racks. Instead of gripping it by the frame or by the hook, it actually grips it by the side frame here, so this can fit a wide variety of bikes. Right now we have a road bike on here, but this will also work with mountain bikes, alternate frame bikes and most kids bikes as well. The main post here, by going to this level here, are adjustable for different size bikes, and it ratchets back down. The wheel cradles are also adjustable back and forth, by loosening or tightening the knobs on the bottom here. This is to accommodate bikes of different sizes, but also to help out with loading.Like most platform style racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached.
Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, we're gonna be testing the Yakima HoldUp EVO two bike platform rack for two inch hitches, part number Y02479.We already have a bike installed on our rack here. Let's take a closer look at it. Like most Yakima bike racks, this does have the bottle opener at the end here. And also, like most platform racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached. They did make a slight upgrade to this where we have this handle up at the front, where before, we had two pins, one we had to remove and one we had to pull out to lower it down. Now, you simply just pull it towards you, and let it come forward, holding on to the bike rack.
Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Y02481
Speaker 1: Today, on our 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima, SingleSpeed, 1-Bike Platform Rack, for 1 1/4" and 2" hitches. Part number Y02481.We have a bike installed on a rack. Let's take a closer look here. And this is pretty much a bare bones basic rack for the one person who wants to take their bike from point A to point B. Right now, we have a road bike on it but this will also work with mountain bikes, most kid's bikes, alternate frame bikes and fat bikes with a tire width up to 5" wide. This is a wheel mount carrier. Meaning it grips it by the wheel mount here and then we'll also have a rear strap back here. Now because it is a wheel mount, you're able to carry all those wide varieties of bikes without having to worry about any frame contact, or having to use a bike adapter bar.At the end of our wheel hook up here, we do have an integrated cable lock to wrap around the bike through the frame here and attach it to this point to secure your bike to the bike rack. This is keyed alike with our anti-rattle knob but we'll get to that a little bit later. We'll start by removing the bike.
Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Y02469
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima Four Timer, four bike platform rack, for 2" hitches, part number Y02469. We already have a bike installed on our rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look.Like most platform racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle, with all four bikes still attached. This can get pretty heavy, depending the bike configuration. You may need an extra set of hands to help you out with this. What we're going to do is, we're going to lift up slightly on the bike rack, remove the gray pin on the side here and pull out this red pin and let the bike rack come towards us.This is going to be pretty tight, or at least it's going to look that way, but we still have full hatch access to get what we need, and there's more than enough space in between the handlebars and the hatch itself where that's not going to be an issue. To put it back in it's original position, we'll lift up 'til you hear the click.
Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport ts02g
Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, we're going to be test fitting the Kuat Transfer 2-bike platform rack for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number TS02G. We have a bike already installed on our rack so let's go ahead and take a closer look here.Like most platform-style racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached. To do that, it's a little different. We have this foot pedal at the front, so while holding onto the bike rack you just push down and let it come towards you. That's a lot easier than most bike racks where you would have to reach through both of them to get to either a handle or a pin that you have to pull out. With that done, we have full hatch access to get what we need, and there's plenty of space in between the handlebars and the hatch itself where that clearance won't be an issue.
Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport TH9054

We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go and take a closer look here. This is a pretty base model when it comes to platform style racks, however, it does have a lot of good feature to it. Unfortunately, unlike the others this will not tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes attached to get rear hatch access, but it does have other things.Such as how it actually grips to the bike.

The cradles can be adjusted back and forth and be adjusted side to side to accommodate different size bikes, and this is going to hold your bike at three points. We're going to have two rubber straps up at the top, then off to the side, and that's going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike-to-bike contact.

And they also are padded so once you set your bike into place, the frame of it's not going to get scratched up or anything like that because of that padding. It does come with an integrated cable lock and the mast that'll wrap around your front-most bike and attach to this point here and lock into place.
RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport RKY10004

We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go ahead and take a closer look here. Like most platform style racks, this can tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached. However, to release it, it does have this lever up at the front, which is a lot more convenient, because most other platform racks will have either the latch, or a pin or something up towards the front where you have to reach through both bikes to get to it. And that can be a little difficult. With this, we have this lever that you hold onto the bike rack, pull towards you, and let it come forward.
Swagman XTC-2 Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

The frame hook is padded.
Yakima Trunk Bike Racks Review - 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Speaker 1: Today, in our 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima full back two bike rack for trunk mounts, part number Y02634.We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look here. Starting out with the arms, on the end of one we're going to have the Yakima bottle opener. However, on the other end, we're gonna have an integrated cable lock, which you wrap around the bike in the front and attach it to this point here to secure your bikes to the bike rack. The cradles are stationary, but they do have a super-cush 00:00:30 material where the bike is going to make contact with the rack, and this is to help prevent any scratches or anything like that getting to your frame. It's gonna grip your bike at three points. We'll have to zip strips up at the top, as well as one off to the side, and that's gonna be your anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and causing bike-to-bike contact. Now, when it comes to loading and unloading bikes, what I recommend is you take that anti-sway cradle, and you push it up all the way, and that's gonna make unloading and loading much easier. You're not gonna have to go back and forth and shimmy it off when you're installing your bikes.Alright, lets go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside.

SportRack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Today on 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander were doing a test fit on the SportRack Ridge. This is a folding and tilting 5-bike rack. Its been designed for use with the 1 or 2 hitches. The part number on it is SR2405. The Ridge is going to use 3 straps to hold our bike in place; 2 for our top frame tube, and our frame here is narrower at the rear, wider at the front, the straps and cradles do a good job of holding onto those, and the third one were going to have right down here thats our anti-sway cradle. As you can see moving that bike back and forth it doesnt have a lot of range.
Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Today on our 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander, we're going to be doing a test on the Swagman Trailhead. This is a folding and tilting four bike rack. You can use this with an inch and a quarter or with two inch hitches. The part number on it is S63380. The Trailhead uses a series of three straps on the top of the frame to hold the bike in place as well as an anti-sway cradle strap here on the back to prevent that front and back movement of the bike as we're traveling down the road. It's going to help out some with preventing that from hitting our mast or coming back and hitting our other bike. By giving those straps a pull, we're going to get those to release.
