The EXO Swing Away hauls 2 bikes and a full load of gear on a single hitch. The DoubleUp rack holds bikes by the wheels—no frame contact—and supports 40 lbs per bike with tire widths up to 4.8" and wheel sizes from 20" to 29". Beneath it, the GearWarrior cargo carrier handles 110 lbs of coolers, firewood, or luggage. Both tiers attach to the SwingBase using Yakima’s cleat system and SpeedKnobs for a quick, tool-free fit. If you only need one tier, the top can be removed, upping the cargo tray’s capacity to 250 lbs. It’s a complete system built to adapt to whatever the day brings.
Reaching your hatch doesn’t mean unloading the bikes. The hinged SwingBase moves the entire system out and locks in place, giving you full rear access while everything stays secured. Once extended, the top tier can swing 180° for clear access to gear on the bottom rack. A built-in jack stand keeps everything level if the system stays open for a while. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference when you’re mid-trip and need to grab something fast.
Ten Same Key System (SKS) locks secure the rack, carriers, and bikes. The tiers lock to each other and the hitch, the arms lock the accessories, and the bike rack includes two cable locks for the bikes themselves. The threaded hitch pin tightens with a 24-mm wrench to reduce movement and noise. Powder-coated steel construction resists rust while the anti-rattle design keeps the ride steady—mile after mile.
Installing the EXO system is straightforward—slide the base’s shank into a 2" receiver, insert the threaded pin, and tighten it down. The cleat tracks and SpeedKnobs make it just as easy to switch from a bike rack to another EXO accessory like a ski or enclosed cargo carrier (sold separately). Rotate the knobs, lift one piece off, drop the next one in, and you’re ready for a new adventure without tools.
Even packed with bikes and gear, the setup stays balanced. The entire system weighs 160.5 lbs, with 4-1/4" from the hitch pin to the closest part of the rack and 35-1/2" to the farthest. The bike rack measures 26-5/8" long x 72" wide x 7" tall, and the cargo tray spans 23" long x 60" wide x 6-1/2" tall. It’s a sturdy, thoughtful configuration that carries more while keeping space and stability in check.

After a year, I would say this is still one of the best purchases we made for our RV. It is easy to install and modular. There are times when we do not want to take our bikes, but do need the extra storage. My Blackstone Grill fits perfectly in the Cargo Carrier with room to spare. Plus the ease of use is pretty amazing. You can just swing the bike rack out to access the cargo. And if you have a door in the back of your RV, the entire unit swings free so you can open the doors. Its also very stable as you travel. This is a must have if you like to bike and need extra storage. Too bad there are only five stars!
