Speaker 1: Today on our 2019 Ford Flex, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Yakima Four Timer, four bike platform rack, part number Y02469. Now we have a bike installed, let's take a closer look at some of the features. One feature I want to start off with first is that while we have a setup for a four bike configuration right now we can just remove this nut and bolt, and we can take off the two bike addition to convert it to a two bike rack. That's going to conserve some space that's added onto the back of your vehicle, if you don't want to quite take four bikes out.This bike rack can also tilt away from the vehicle. We're going to come and pull this gray pin on the other side. We'll let that hang.

Today on our 2014 Ford Flex we're doing a test fit of the Thule T2 Pro Platform Style 2 bike rack. That part number is TH9034. We already have our bike secured down here. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ford Flex

Today on our 2014 Ford Flex, we're doing a test of the Thule Vertex hanging style 4 bike rack, designed to work with 1 1/4" and 2" hitches. The part number for that is TH9029XT. First thing we'll do is take a look at how our bike is mounted to the rack. We've got 2 cradles holding that bike in with 3 straps, 2 on the frame, and then one as your anti-sway strap in the back. It's going to keep a lot of the shake and play out of the bike as you're heading down the road, so you don't have to worry about it damaging your vehicle. To remove those, we'll first start with our frame straps, and we'll just pull down and lift up.



Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Ford Flex

Today on our 2013 Ford Flex we're going to be doing a test for the Swagman Original-3 bike rack, part number S64152-2. It's for 2-inch hitches. I've already got a load into the receiver so you can get a good idea what it's going to look like in the back of your Flex. Let's go ahead and tighten it up with our included anti-rattle bolt. I've already got it loaded on the receiver as you can see there just to give you a good idea what it's going to look like on the back of your vehicle. It could be used for 1 1/4 or 2-inch hitches. Let's go ahead and tighten that down with our included anti-rattle bolt. Now, this does require a tool to do so. It does come with one but today we're just going to be using a socket wrench to tighten it down.



Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Flex

Today we have a 2011 Ford Flex and we'll be test fitting the Yakima Frontloader Roof-Mounted Bike Carrier part number Y02103. To mount our carrier to our roof rack we'll lift it up and set it on top of our crossbars. We'll fit the front clamp around our front crossbar and use the hand knob to tighten it down. Then we'll slide the rear clamp into position over the rear bar and use the T-bolt and wing nut to tighten it down. Now, we can prep to load a bike. We need to make sure that the front wheel hoop is up and that our wheel strap at the back of the bike carrier is open.



Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Flex

Today on our 2011 Ford Flex and we'll going to be test fitting part number TH934XTR. This is the Thule Hitching Post Pro Folding and Tilting Four Bike Rack with Anti-sway Cradles. Now, to begin our test fit we'll slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line-up the hitch pinhole and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 10 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is approximately 6-1/2 inches.



Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Flex

Today we have a 2011 Ford Flex and we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Fork-Down Roof-Mounted Bike Carrier part number S64710. To mount the carrier to our vehicle we're going to set it up on top of our load bars. We'll fit 2 U-bolts around the load bar up at the front and secure them with the wing nuts. At the rear we'll fit the U-bolt down through the bike rack and over our load bar. We'll take a plate and fit it over the U-bolt from the bottom and secure the plate with 2 wing nuts. With that done our bike rack is secured to roof rack and we're ready to load up a bike.



RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Flex

Today on our 2011 Ford Flex we're going to be test fitting the Rockymounts Tierod Roof-Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1014. To mount our bike carrier to our vehicle, we'll simply place it in top of our load bars. At the front we'll feed the straps around our load bar and re-secure them back into the head of the bike rack. We'll use an Allen wrench to tighten those straps down. Then we can reinstall the cover in the head of the bike rack and we'll also make sure that our skewer is open. Then we'll move to the rear of the bike rack where we can secure the clamp around the load bar using the two wing nuts.



Rhode Gear Highway Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Flex

Today on our 2011 Ford Flex we'll be test fitting part number RG8015220. This is the Rhodegear highway 2 bike carrier for both 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch hitches. Now, to begin our test fit we'll simply slide our bike rack shank using the included adapter for 2 inch hitches into the hitch. We'll line-up the hitch pinhole and install and tighten down our anit-rattle bolt and just like that our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. At this point we'll give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 10 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 7 inches.



Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2010 Ford Flex

Today on our 2010 Ford Flex, we'll be test fitting the Thule Domestique roof-mounted bike carrier, part number TH513. We'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's crossbars. We'll loosen up the Allen bolts on the rear bracket, as well as the Allen bolts at the head of the carrier, to bring both brackets around the underside of the front and rear crossbar. Once we've positioned the brackets over the crossbars, we'll use the Allen key to tighten down the Allen bolts to secure our Thule Domestique to our Ford Flex. Once everything's tightened down and secured, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll undo the tray strap at the rear of the carrier and double check to make sure the skewer's loose as well.



Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2010 Ford Flex

Today on our 2010 Ford Flex, we'll be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down roof-mounted bike carrier, part number S64710. We'll begin our test fit by placing the carrier onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll start at the head of the carrier and slide the silver brackets around the underside of the front load bar. We'll then use the black wing nuts to thread onto the bracket, securing the head of the carrier to the front load bar. We'll then move to the rear load bar. This time, we'll slide the silver bracket through the top of the carrier, down against the edges of the rear load bar.



RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2010 Ford Flex

Today on our 2010 Ford Flex well be test fitting the RockyMounts Tierod Stretch Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number rky1011. Well begin our test fit by placing the carrier on to the vehicles crossbars. Well then remove the black plastic cover at the head of the carrier to bring the rubber-coated steel straps around the underside of the front crossbar. Well then loosen up the Allen bolts at the rear of the carrier to bring the rear bracket around the underside of the rear load bar. Well then tighten down the silver bolt at the head of the carrier tightening the straps to the front load bar. Well then tighten down the Allen bolts at the rear of the carrier for the rear bracket to secure the rear of the carrier to the rear load bar.



Thule Vertex 4 Swing Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2010 Ford Flex

Today on this 2011 ford Flex were going to do a test fit of a Thule bike rack, part number TH9031, the Vertex Swing 4 bike rack. One quick note about this bicycle rack that it is designed for two inch receivers only. Well start off by installing the rack into the hitch. Well tighten down the anti-rattle bolt and then go from there. The bike rack does come with a tool to tighten it down, however a inch wrench may work better in certain applications. Next well give you some measurements that will give you an idea of clearance between the bicycle rack and the bumper and the ground.



Swagman XTC4 Wheel Mount Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2010 Ford Flex

All right, today on this 2010 Ford Flex, we're going to do a test fit of part number S64665 from Swagman. This is the XTC-4 bike rack. Okay one quick note about this bicycle rack that it is designed for 2-inch receivers only. We'll go ahead and install in our hitch, we'll slide an anti-rattle bolt and install a lock on the other side. Now with our bike installed, let's go ahead and give you some measurement that will give you an idea of clearance between the bumper and bike rack and the bike rack and the ground. Looks like bumper clearance is just under half an inch and ground clearance is 11 and 1/4 inches.



Softride Dura Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2010 Ford Flex

Alright, today on this 2010 Ford Flex, were going to do a test fit of part number SR26247 from Softride. This is a Softride Dura Parallelogram Bike Rack. One quick note about this bicycle rack is that will work of 1-1/4-inch receiver hitches, class 2 only, with the included adapter. In this application, we're using a 2-inch receiver. OK, we will start off by installing the bike rack into the hitch. We will tighten down the anti-rattle bolt and then install the lock onto it as well.



Yakima SwingDaddy 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2009 Ford Flex

All right today, on this 2009 Ford Flex, we're going to do a test fit of part number Y02422 from Yakima; this is their SwingDaddy 4 Bike Carrier. One thing to know about this bicycle rack is that it's designed for class two receiver hitches only. Now we'll go ahead start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, then we'll tighten down the anti-rattle bolt, then we'll install the safety clip on the other side. All right, with the bike rack installed, let's go ahead and get some clearance measurements. At its closest point from the bike rack to the bumper, we're looking at four and a half inches. Ground clearance looks like 14 1/2 inches.



Yakima FrontLoader Roof Bike Rack Review - 2009 Ford Flex

Today on this 2009 Ford Flex, we're going to do a test fit of part number Y02103 from Yakima; this is a Front loader Bike Carrier. A few notes about this bicycle rack is that it does not require you to remove the front wheel on the bike if it's round, square, and factory crossbars. On this particular vehicle we'll be using the Yakima Roof Rack System. The adjustable arm provides a sure fit for any size wheels. Now we're going to start off our test fit with the bike rack already assembled according to the instructions, so we just got to put it on the roof rack. We'll line it at the front clamp with the front crossbar, and then we'll loosely install it and then go to the back clamp and loosely install it onto the roof rack for the second crossbar.



Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2009 Ford Flex

All right today, on this 2009 Ford Flex, we're going to do a test fit of part number Y02098 from Yakima, this is a Forklift Bicycle Rack. A few notes about this bicycle rack that it will work with round crossbars, and square crossbars and most factory crossbars. Now with this particular vehicle, we will be working with the Yakima Roof Rack System. To start off our test fit, our bicycle rack were already assembled according to the instructions, so we just kind of put it on the roof rack. We'll start off by lining the front clamp up with the front crossbar, and then we'll go ahead and tighten it down but loose enough where you can still move it around and will go on to the back clamp in protecting the place as well. Then we'll go ahead and move the bike rack to the position that we want, then we'll go ahead and tighten down both clamps.



Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2009 Ford Flex

All right today on this 2009 Ford Flex, we're going to do a test fit of part number TH9029 from Thule, the Vertex 4 Bicycle Rack. A few notes about this bicycle rack that this will work inch and a quarter receiver hitches both class one and class two. However, with a class one receiver hitch, you're limited to carrying just two bicycles. Now this will also work with a two-inch receiver hitch with the included spacer. That's what we will be working with today. Well start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, then we'll go ahead tighten down the anti-rattle bolt.



Thule Parkway 2 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2009 Ford Flex

All right today, on this 2009 Ford Flex, we're going to do a test fit of part number TH958 from Thule, the Parkway 2 Bike Carrier. One thing to know about this bicycle rack, that it is designed for two-inch receiver hitches only. Now we'll start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, then we'll go ahead and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt. Okay, with the bike rack installed, let's go ahead and get some clearance measurements. From the security cable loop on the bike rack to the bumper, is going to be three inches. Ground clearance is going to be around 11 inches.
