Best 2021 Chevrolet Equinox Trailer Hitch Ball Mounts

I searched the internet to put a hitch on my 2016 Chevy Equinox and found an instructional video from eTrailer.com where they installed on my exact car. I decided to go with eTrailer.com because they answered all my questions and because of the video-I support businesses that go the extra mile with these videos. Shipping was quick and well tracked, however, the box was flimsy and the one end of the hitch had come out of the box side and the ball mount could have easily come out of that hole during shipping. If I were eTrailer.com I'd charge an extra couple of bucks for more sturdy boxes-people will still buy as eTrailer is a well-trusted brand and this would overcome a lot of the negative reviews you'll see on their site about this shipping issue in their own reviews :-) I installed the hitch by myself (definitely recommend help as two people holding it up to the frame makes attaching 100% easier) in about 45 minutes total (out of the box, read instructions, review video again and installation complete). All hardware went on with no issues. Great quality hitch! I also bought the lesser expensive wiring assembly because most recent equinox's come hitch ready with pre-wired assembly in the left side compartment-snap and done. Picked up a new trailer at Home Depot within days and drove 5 feet and the clacking was horrible. I had always had a welded hitch before buying a hitch that took a ball mount. I really thought something was wrong and when I searched the internet that night it turns out this is very common. However, all you need is some sort of hitch "silencing" device. The number of options will drive you mad but I went with the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch and it did the trick for much less than most of the other options. If I were eTrailer.com I'd have that as one of the RECOMMENDED add-ons and explanation why its super-worthy when customers are buying a hitch. Would have saved me the time and hassle of dealing with it later and the extra shipping charge for buying after the fact when I got free shipping for the other items the first time :-) All in all, I'm super, super happy with my hitch, wiring assembly, ball mount, ball mount locking pin and the hitch silencer. Ordered a receiver, hitch, ball, and wire harness for my 2017 Chevy Equinox. It was shipped the same day and at my house 2 days later. I installed it in the driveway in less than an hour! To make an already great online purchase better with the tracking info was install videos and directions for all the products I purchased. Etrailer.com saved me $210 over taking it to a local trailer rental retailer.

This is a great deal and very worthwhile for any new towing setup. The only way to make it better would be to include a locking pin.

This product may seem trivial as far as a review goes, but it is the main piece for towing besides the trailer hitch itself. Buying it with the ball attached and torqued is the best way to go. Buying separate and trying to tighten to specs is hard to do, so this eliminates the worries of it coming off in a tow down the road.

The ball mount fits my hitch perfectly. However niether the hitch or the ball mount suggested or can with the needed pin to hold it in the hitch. The selection process was easy it would have been nice if they would have provide the pin or at least told me what i needed.

We sold our small motor home and purchased a small travel trailer. This hitch provided a perfect solution to how to use our bike rack while towing the trailer. It even allows room for the pickup tailgate to be lowered without removing the bikes from the rack. The hitch is very hefty with a high weight limit - plenty for the GVW of the trailer (7,000#) plus 125# of rack and bikes.

This has been an amazing multipurpose ball mount. We purchased this to use with our Hollywood Bike Rack and also to connect onto our boat. We weren't sure if this would work, but it was awesome. It is very well built and We had to make some minor adjustments to the position of our boat on the trailer so the turning radius of the bike rack that was attached would clear the truck. This is very well made and solid.

To be honest, I use it upside down. I needed a hitch with rise, but none were available at time of purchase, and yours, inverted, works perfectly! The welds are regularly checked and remain all secure. It's a good hitch.

Working in the sand and grass of my driveway my wife and I installed our new etrailer receiver hitch. Great fit and finish! Went right on as described in the online guide. Hitch required a spacer washer on top back bolt attachment point. Taped it on so it would not move while lifting in place and it stayed right there! Used a car jack to raise up and hold the hitch into the underside of the trunk tighten the bolts and reattached the tail pipe done. Now we can pull our Sunfish Sailboat any where the car will go.

I haul a 5.5x10 open trailer w/ a 900 lb. ZTR, a push mower, and a handful of other tools 3 days a week. It is what it is. It does the job, no problem. A little finish wear and rust on the ball, but nothing major. I LIVE ON A DIRT ROAD, which is probably responsible for the wear.

Used on my 1999 Dodge Intrepid's CURT 12006 Class II 1.25 in. Receiver Hitch: 350lbsTW/3500 lbs GTW. I use this Curt Class II Drawbar - 3-7/8" Rise - 11-1/4" Long - 3,500 lbs to tow a 3,500+ GTW dual axle trailer. I have used it with the trailer FULLY loaded and it performs EXCELLENT. You have to make sure the trailer is loaded correctly so as not to put too much down force on the tongue/drawbar. I was skeptical that the SOLID 1.25" bar would not take the load, but it is super strong. I chuck it in the trunk when not in use to protect passerby's shins, but it sticks out far enough clear the Intrepid's bumper, and is solid with a 2" ball (required a bushing). etrailer got it out fast at a good price! I would totally purchase this again from them.

Every part excellent quality. Perfect fit, all parts were exact for my vehicle. Watched the video on youtube for wiring and being a mechanic for over 50 years was able to connect signal lights all from driver side of harness. Instead of leaving plug inside trunk I wired through the rubber outlet to the back of the hitch ready for use. Very happy highly recommend etrailer.

Very happy with this ball mount - provides just the amount of drop we required for a level tow of our GeoPro travel trailer by our RAM2500. Plus, the extra length not only allows a tighter turning radius, but also allows us to lower the truck tailgate without having to detach the trailer. Huge improvement on all accounts for us compared to our prior setup. The product is well built and I'm confident will provide us years of good use.

Overly tight on the receiver end bit functions as intended.

I am an infrequent trailer user, but getting my daughter home from college was necessary in March. This drawbar fits my hitch and utility trailer well, did exactly what it is supposed to do, and was the last thing to be concerned about right then. I have a '11 Mini Countryman S with a Class II receiver from Mini Fini, (which cost twice as much as a Curt) where the hole is flush with the fake grille near the bottom of the bumper cover, so I needed the long bar to reach out past the bumper. The Curt receiver for that car hangs visible underneath the bumper (ugly), which also increases the lever arm on the receiver beam and would have needed an even taller rise. (Curt take note!) All just part of the kit to create an occasional 1 ton pickup out of my Mini, leaving the "bed" at home most of the time.

This is exactly what I needed for my front end mounted receiver.

I've got a lowered 1995 VW Jetta with a 1.25" receiver. I had to use a 6" extension along with a long, straight drawbar so any steep incline had me going at an angle and even then I would sometimes scrape. Some one had this drawbar on their Jetta and it looked good. With the measurements provided on this site I determined it would sit far enough away from my bumper and elevate the ball so my trailer wouldn't be angled down so much. Very glad I ordered this unit, it fits the car and works perfectly! Much better than my previous fix.

Great all around except for the fact that the retaining pin is a clip over, as opposed to a push through. That said, I simply safety wired the retaining clip and that took care of it. Very satisfied overall.

Excellent product! With the three different ball sizes, this tri-ball mount gives you a lot of flexibility. Gone are the days of having several different ball mounts to fit different tongues. High quality construction makes this an excellent investment.

Hitch is solid and install was 2 hours

Here's 2 photos of the finished product. Doesn't stick out very far which is fantastic, because it definitely would have looked bad on the back of a 2 door coupe GTP. As for installation, being a mechanic, all I had to do was remove 2 rear exhaust rubber hangers and the one right behind the fuel tank, lower the exhaust onto a set of jacks to support the weight. Then drilled 2 1/2" holes with a 90 degree drill. The coiled wires included with the parts saved me tons of time trying to get the bolts in. Overall, it was fairly simple to install. Torquing the bolts proved a little difficult. I would recommend you inform the customers that they'll need at least a 10" eye to eye reciever (I have the 11" one on mine) in order to clear the rear bumper and provide some space between the bumper and trailer tongue. As for the wiring, I cut a small slit in the rubber plug under the spare tire, ran some bulk trailer wiring up through it, under the tire, under the floor matting, to the right side of the trunk, behind the tail light. And up under the lid on the right side, is the tail light wire harness/connector. Test light confirmed which wires were hot, tapped into them and all the wires and lights are good to go. Just some extra info for the DIY'er that might be handy on the website so they won't have to search for it! Couldn't be happier with the hitch.
