There won't be any problems towing your 2016 Mini Clubman S on a tow dolly, even with its low ground clearance at the rear. The vehicle's rear axle and wheels are very far back, so it isn't going to tilt downwards enough to cause issues over flat pavement, though over speed bumps, if it is raised up enough, it could of course hit the ground, and unfortunately there really isn't any way to overcome that type of obstacle.

That's a good question, and for your 2003 Mini Cooper, the biggest difference between the Blue Ox # BX1303 and Roadmaster # 521876-1 base plates is indeed the tow bars that are compatible. While technically there are adapters that make them cross-compatible, that is an extra step and honestly just more work for you. I reached out to my contact at Curt and he said the owner of the vehicle in the photo was outside of the their # C11126 hitch compatibility because as manufactured it will absolutely have issue with the center exhaust on your 2004 Mini Cooper S. The Curt trailer hitch # C11417 is actually NOT a fit for a 2015 Mini with a spare tire. Instead you would need the EcoHitch # 306-X7290 which does fit a Mini with a spare tire.
