Even with a smaller trailer, it is not overkill and you can absolutely benefit using the Gen-Y Glyder Shock Absorbing Ball Mount for 2" Hitches # 325-GH-12001.
A trailer, regardless of size, is still going to be rigid, bounce, and affect the ride of your tow vehicle and the trailer. So adding some cushioning like you get with the Glyder is definitely a good idea, and something I recommend.

Good morning, Doug. I do have a potential solution for you, but I am sorry to say that Thule does not make a fit kit for the 2016 Lexus GX460. So, there is unfortunately no way to mount your Thule Evo bars on this vehicle.

You should only use the provided hardware to secure your hitch. Using any additional spacers or washers will void the warranty from the manufacturer.
If it is an issue where the bumper cover is resting on the hitch and you are able to install it and properly torque the hardware this is not an issue and is very common on a lot of the hitches that I have installed. This eliminates the need for you to cut the bumper for clearance since it isn't really an issue.

We have some roof rack options that fit your vehicle and have parts that could potentially fit other SUVs but I would need to know what they are to confirm fits. Since the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer # MAL73FR uses a different crossbar design. the frame just isn't really set up to be able to use the MicroSport to LowBed Conversion Tubes # MAL33TR cleanly.

We only have two aftermarket hitches confirmed to fit your 2015 Lexus GX 460 and both max out at 5,000 lbs towing capacity and are not rated for using weight distribution systems. There is not an option to get the 6,500 lb capacity of your the factory system. The hitch will be the limiting factory for your towing.

Hey Jason, thanks for reaching out. Yes, there should be continuity between the two brake magnet wires. One is for power and one is for ground, and either wire can be used for each function. Brake magnets are pretty simple to wire for this reason, so if you are not getting proper function on the wires it may be time for new magnets or new brake assemblies.

This WDS has a tongue weight range of 400 lbs to 600 lbs which is ideal since you'd want a system that has your trailer tongue weight somewhere in the middle of that range (10-15% of 3,500 | 350-525 lbs).
