Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Hopkins Heavy-Duty Snow and Ice Windshield Cover on our 2020 Ford Escape. Begin the install by throwing this on top of your windshield, making sure the straps are facing outwards and that this string with the hook is towards the top of the vehicle. Next thing we're gonna do is take this little pocket and put your mirror inside it. Open the door, stick that hook and excess flap in there. Do that on both sides, and then we're gonna come inside for the final connection. We're gonna take both hooks and hook 'em to each other, and then that is it for the install.
So if you have to park your car in a parking lot or if your garage is inaccessible, then this is going to come in handy during the snowy seasons. It's gonna protect your windshield from snow and ice so you don't have to waste time being cold scraping your vehicle. This windshield cover also has three straps in case the fit is a little loose, you can just easily tighten it up. So overall, I think this is a great cover. It's definitely big enough for the Ford Escape.
The only issue that I have is that it doesn't quite cover the wiper blade right here. So if you do want something that's gonna cover both the windshield and the wiper blades, check out the etrailer 2-in-1 Windshield and Wiper Blade Cover. But otherwise, this does a great job. And that was a look on the Hopkins Heavy-Duty Snow and Ice Windshield Cover on our 2020 Ford Escape..

I can't give the product service/quality a rating quite yet because I haven't had the need to use it, however, I AM rating the excellent service and customer service that I have received from etrailer.com. The product appears fine and it appears like it will work perfectly the next time inclement weather hits; it seems sturdy and is exactly as pictured in the online webpage. The product arrived on time, there was tracking, and etrailer followed up with an email for this survey and to be certain I have received my package.

Haven't installed it, but ordering through eTrailer is an exceptionally good process. Free shipping and no tax made this a much better value than going through local retail. Shipping was a few days and delivered to my door. Research through local suppliers requires them to order model-specific products and it takes them a few days and at least two trips to their store -- this is a much better process. The instructional videos, reviews, and product details are spot on and more helpful than the manufacturers' site. Plugging in my vehicle loads up recommendations that fit my vehicle -- other retailers make you use filters and I'm less confident the product is specific for my make, model vehicle.

This is a product that will save a great deal of time and effort.... Not to mention cold hands, and other body parts. The actual cover could be better put together, some of the stitching and trim did not hold up. I do make an effort to place this on my windshield at the end of the day, this saves a bunch of time and frustration in the early morning hour as I head out to work..... Just remember to turn off your wipers and turn on the defrost if you have a remote start.

The service from eTrailer was excellent as always. My opinion of the windshield cover is mixed. I have an Excursion so I searched for the largest cover I could find. This one barely covers the lower and middle of my windshield. The top of the windshield is not covered, this can be a problem when it snows. I had to pull and stretch to get the cover over the mirrors and am afraid that when the temperatures go sub-zero it will not stretch without ripping. This cover is simply not made for bigger trucks like mine.

I purchased this for my husband as a stocking stuffer in December of 2015. He has used it in every snow storm since and really likes how easy it is to deal with at 4:00 am with freezing rain, wind and snow coming from every angle.
I think this is a must have for anyone who parks outside during the winter months. He was using a tarp of sorts and that would stick to the windshield every so often...and that was not exactly helpful.

Love it! While designed to keep from scrapping Ice / Frost - I use my cover to protect my windshield from spray and film build-up that occurs on Oil & Gas well locations.
I’ve add ~6 small magnets to the top edge of the cover to help hold it in place better in the wind. Have washed the cover twice - once by hand and once in the washer on delicate.
Other than adding the magnets - it rates 5 out of 5

The Mirror covers need to be wider with adjustable straps. The one I received is a tad to small/tight. I cover the passenger mirror and scrape the drivers side so I don't have to walk around the p/up. My p/up is a 2005 Ford F150. My brother had the same problem. His p/up is a 2006 Ford F350.

I would rate this product as fair. I expected my windshield cover to be heavier. I ordered this product because a co-worker had one from a few years ago. However, the one she had was made out of a heavier fabric - a canvas like material.
I do like the way the cover goes beyond the windshield wipers. I would have a problem with my wipers freezing due to snow and ice collecting at the base of the wiper.

The item was bought for a different vehicle than was listed. My mirrors were too large to fit in the pockets so I tied the corners of the cover to the door handle which worked fine. With the wind and sun that we have I do not think that it will last another 2 years.

Very thin material. Stitching is also rather week. Mine came with the edging coming off due to week stitching. Also, it did not fit over my large towing mirrors of the Nissan NV3500.

This a so so product . Very thin . It fits my 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 perfect. Haven't had a chance to use it but hope it does fine . Like i said it is very flimsy material don't know how long it will last.

The product is well made and does the job well. For my vehicle it is too large. I have made it work but a little hassle to install. No fault of the product just a very small windshield. Jeep Wrangler. Knowing what I know now , would I buy it again, probably. For the price it is a quality product.

It's a little odd to put on, but it has good coverage on my 2007 Honda Element. Covers both rear views, which is important as they are not heated and a pain to remove ice from. Saves me from a lot of scraping windows in the winter.

I believe it will work, but weather is just now getting bad. I miss having magnets and door flaps. Easier for me to work with instead of elastic bands that hook inside and take time. Time of essence when 10 below and 40 mph winds.

The more I learn about using my cover on my 2007 Chevrolet HHR, the more I love it! I have gone from installation from a couple of minutes down to seconds it feels like! So quick and easy! There is a spot on one of the mirror pockets where the seam seems weak, but I am monitoring it.
