Features to know about

Effortless Trailer Connection: Custom-fit T-One Wiring Harness

Tired of struggling with complex trailer wiring setups? The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector by Tekonsha makes installation a breeze. This custom-fit harness plugs directly into your vehicle's existing wiring, eliminating the hassle of cutting and splicing wires. Simply connect it in your rear cargo area and hit the road.

Reliable Power Delivery: Powered ModuLite Converter

Worried about your vehicle's light circuits overloading? The built-in ModuLite powered converter draws power directly from your car's battery, ensuring your trailer's lights are powered without taxing your existing electrical system. This means you can tow with confidence, knowing that your trailer lights will function correctly without overloading your turn and brake light circuits.

Universal Compatibility: Supports Multiple Signal Adapters

Planning to use different types of trailers? No problem! This wiring harness is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters (sold separately), giving you the flexibility to connect a variety of trailers with ease. Whether it's a small utility trailer or something more complex, Tekonsha has you covered.

Protect Your Investment: Durable Construction and Essential Accessories

Prevent the wear and tear that often accompanies trailer wiring with this robust harness. It features 16-gauge bonded wire for durability, and includes a dust cap for the 4-way flat connector, protecting it from the elements. Regular use of a small amount of grease on the connections will help prevent corrosion, extending the life of your wiring system.

Safe and Sound: Tail Light Converter for Two-to-One Wiring Systems

Concerned about mismatched vehicle-to-trailer electrical systems? The tail light converter merges your vehicle's separate brake and turn signals into a single wire system, perfectly aligning it with most trailer setups. This ensures your trailer’s lights mirror your vehicle’s signals, enhancing on-road safety and compliance.

Technical Specs at a Glance

Keep it simple with clear specifications: This harness supports a maximum amperage of 2.1 amps per circuit for stop/turn lights and 5.6 amps per circuit for tail lights. Plus, it comes with a reassuring 1-year limited warranty, ensuring you have the support you need for trouble-free towing adventures.

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Note

This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Vehicle Wiring for TrailerI recently purchased the T-One Connector w/Upgraded Circuit Protected ModuLite - for my Toyota Venza. This is a great product, installation was straight forward and the total installation was complete in 1 1/2 hrs. with most of the time consumed by removing required molding and then replacing when job was finished.

One suggestion - why not make the fuze holder assembly Black, then it would blend with background. It is hard to hide yellow. :)

2011 Toyota Venza

Received hitch and wiring within a few days after ordering. No scratches and no missing parts. I have a 2011 Venza with dual exhaust. Installed hitch in about 45 minutes with a little help from my son with no problems whatsoever. I didn't have to lower my exhaust system. I just manuevered it over the top of it.

I will do the wiring later.

So about a year ago I bought a reciever hitch, receiver cover, euro style ball and wiring for my 2010 Camry to tow a 4x8 foldable trailer for powersports......Installation was straight forward and dedicated an afternoon for install.....Directions for the products was easy to follow for both products.... so far the wiring is just as I installed it and the hitch is holding up great, you can barely notice that I have a hitch back there. I think it blends in nicely....I anticipate many years of worry free towing....
Customer service is top notch also ????

With the exception of the hitch cover cracking and dry rotting where it pivots, everything else is great. If I had to do it over again I wouldnt change a thing.....Im extremely pleased with the products I purchased from etrailer.com

I received hitch and wiring harness about a week ago went out this morning and installed both. Took about an hour and a half to do both. The hitch went on without having to drop the muffler and the wiring harness is pretty well plug and play you just have to run powerfrom the battery to the rear. This is the second vehicle I have done using etrailer can't say enough good about these guys the delivery was timely and instructions clear, videos on the site are always helpful as they are vehicle specific. Thanks etrailer

2011 Toyota Camry

Fit my 2011 Toyota Camry perfectly. I wish that the ground cable would have been slightly longer to reach the factory ground. That being said, there is plenty of space to attach the ground with the supplied self tapping screw. Installation was simple, the only time consuming part is running the main power under the car to the battery (not an issue for hybrid models where battery is in the trunk). Everything tucked away nicely.

A year later this harness is working flawlessly. Being able to store the harness end in the trunk out of the weather has been nice, it looks as new as the day I bought it. I tow with it once a week at least.

by:

The item worked OK only once, the first time. I have done some testing. There is continuity from battery to unit. There is continuity from unit's ground to trailer plugin. The lights on the car work fine with the unit's wiring: it gets feed from car controls. The unit is fully sealed so I cannot test continuity from unit to plugin, other than mentioned ground connection. Visually the wires from unit to trailer plugin are fine. I highly suspect the unit itself and not the wiring. I have tried the suggestions online to unplug power to it for some time to no avail. Needless to say, poor rating.

by:

This is my 2nd trailer hitch from e-Trailer. I have a small trailer I use to haul brush, furniture & my recumbent bike. I was very pleased with my first hitch, but after getting a new car, I needed another hitch. The quality products and video instructions make it straight forward to install. My kit required a wire to run from the back of the vehicle to the battery in front. The video outlined the best path to route the wire to avoid hot parts or areas where the wire could be damaged. The connection at the battery included a fuse to prevent a electrical fire if somehow the wire got damaged, like in an accident. When I ordered the 2nd hitch, I received an email letting me know the hitch I selected was no longer available within 3 hours of my order. They suggested another hitch to fit my vehicle. Whenever the need for another hitch arises I know the only place I will go, etrailer.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring Not Functioning Properly on 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander
I checked with Tow Ready and they have confirmed that the Harness part # 118482 is a fit for your 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander. One thing you should do at this point is test the 4-way of the wiring harness with a circuit tester part # PTW2993 for voltage on all of the right pins when the taillight signals are being applied. Just like in the video I attached. If the voltage checks out there but the trailer lights still don't function right then the problem is on the trailer wiring. That would...

I can get you set up with everything you need to add a brake controller to your 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander. You were correct in starting with the 4-way like # 118482. You will also need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7, which will give you a 7- and 4-way trailer connector (which you will plug your trailer's 7-way into), circuit breakers and the rest of the hardware needed to install a brake controller. As long as your Outlander isn't the plug in hybrid (PHEV), I'd recommend the # 118482 for vehicles without the factory tow package or # 118277 for vehicles with the tow package. If your vehicle has the tow package, it will have the tow package electrical connector located behind the driver's side bulkhead in the cargo area, to the rear of the wheel well as shown in the provided photo.
