Off-road trails can punish your suspension when the axle hits its limit. These Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops use progressive-rate rubber springs that absorb energy instead of delivering a harsh stop. As the axle approaches full travel, the springs engage smoothly to cushion impacts and keep the ride predictable and quiet, even when bottoming out.
When you’re loaded up or hitting uneven terrain, these bumpstops add support that your factory setup can’t match. Rated for 2,000 lbs with a bump load of 4,800 lbs, they keep the rear end steady and soak up road shocks before they reach the chassis. The result is a controlled, stable feel whether you’re crawling over rocks or driving washboard roads.
Factory bumpstops can crumble under repeated off-road stress. Timbren’s design uses a natural rubber compound that stays flexible and tough after years of hard use. The steel brackets and disks are laser cut and finished with a durable powder coat for long-lasting protection against dirt, moisture, and corrosion.
Getting extra suspension control doesn’t require a shop visit. The kit comes with hardware for straightforward installation so you can bolt it up and get back to exploring faster. Once installed, the system works automatically—no maintenance or adjustments needed to keep your suspension working at its best.

Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the line of Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops. These are gonna have a variety of different vehicle fits and the ones we're looking at today are gonna be for the rear. They also make some fits for the front on certain vehicles so be sure to put your vehicle information into our Fit Guide and get the right set for you because they are gonna have special brackets to fit a variety of different vehicles and be designed specifically for those, but functionally, they're all gonna work in a very similar way. Let's check it out.
Whichever kit you end up going with, generally, this is going to be a very large upgrade to your factory bumpstops. They're typically going to be quite a bit bigger but they're also gonna be stronger. So as you are going off-road or you have a heavy load in the hitch and you need some extra support, this is either going to reduce the movement that your axle has and just help cushion any shock that you're experiencing going down the road, over some bumps or it's just going to provide some extra support so you're not getting such a harsh hit whenever you're going over bumps and don't feel so much shock going down the road. So these are designed with off-road use in mind so it doesn't have to be just towing or with carrying something really heavy in the hitch. Just going off-road and having some extra travel in your suspension going over bumps, these are gonna help provide support and not put so much stress on suspension.
These are gonna have a progressive spring rate and what that really means is the more it compresses the harder it's going to work to help return your vehicle back to its natural ride height. The compound rubber material here is going to be maintenance free, so once they're on you really don't have to worry about them. It's just going to give you some extra support and you don't have to think about airing them up like you would airbags, they're just going to be these. The install process is gonna differ depending on the vehicle you're putting them on. We just did them on this 4Runner and it was really easy.
Overall, they're designed to be a bolt-on installation and will feature brackets to fit your different vehicles and get you the right fit for your own. Now whether you're gonna be using these while towing or with a heavy load in the hitch or just some extra support when you're going off-road to help cushion that axle when it's going up and down and make a smoother ride quality overall, I think it's gonna be a really great addition to the vehicle. For me it's great that they don't have to worry about any maintenance with these. Once they're on, they're good to go and it's gonna give you a lot of upgraded help over your factory bumpstops. And that'll do it for our look at the line of Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops.
Thanks for watching.

I'm glad you were able to make it work even with the zip ties being too close together when trying to relocate them to make space for the bracket. What are you planning on towing with your Maverick?

I have them on my 4th Gen Toyota. Have an Wedge Camper and can go backcountry with 600 lbs or more in the back. The Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops helped tons just last weekend while 4x4ing grinding out up old minning roads and camping in eastern CaliforniaNevada. Saved use numerous times form bottomming out hard. Very satisfied.

I pull a 20 ft car hauler with the Tundra and recently hauled a car to Arizona then hauled another back. The frame just touches the top of the Timbren when loaded. After 3,000 miles of driving I am even more convinced that this is a great product. The truck never squats from trailer load and the Timbren also keeps the ride smooth straight and steady when pulling a load. When unloaded there is about a one inch gap between the frame and the Timbren so it drives like stock when lightly loaded or unloaded.
