Hello, neighbors and friends, I'm Steven here with etrailer.com. Today, we're looking at the Rhino-Rack's Foxwing Awning Mounting Kit for round or square crossbars. Now, here's an idea of what it looks like when it's installed, folks. It will adapt your Rhino-Rack Foxwing Awning for use with square or round rack crossbars. You're gonna get the two U-bolts, adapter blocks, and all the hardware necessary for install. So as you can see, you got two that are curved inside, that's for the round bars, or you got two that are square inside for the square bars.
And then, obviously, depending on how you mount it and everything, you got the U-bolts included. So very nice kit. As far as some measurements and whatnot when it's installed, I'll give you both them. The one on the left is for the square, and the one on the right is for the round bars. Nice two-year warranty on all the products.

The brackets that the manufacturer offered would not fit my van, a Chrysler Pacifica. I was stuck with it and with the awning . I had to creat brackets myself in order to use the awning.

I tend to push things to the limit and my Batwing awning is no exception. I've got it mounted to my camper shell via yakima crossbars and this kit has been put to the test. My off-road adventures are mixed from high speed desert washes to bouncing around while rock crawling and this mount has stayed tight from day one. It's a heavy awning and I was worried that the vibrations would shake things loose but one year later we're good to go!
Works with Batwing to mount on Yakima bars, the U bolt does not fit through the brackets that come with the Batwing. I called Rhino Rack and they said to drill out one hole on the bracket a little larger ( I forget was size bit). I did and it worked fine. A few hundred miles and all is well. Rhino took my info and said they are getting a new bracket and will send me a set soon.
Shopping and shipping experience with etrailer was fantastic, and why this gets 4 stars.
The product - why does Rhino not plan for their brackets to be used with Thule square bars? The awning brackets need to be re-drilled in order to widen bolt holes to accommodate new mounting hardware. Would have been better customer experience for the holes to be adequately sized from manufacturer.
I purchased this product so I could mount my 270 awning to the Yakama round bar system on my Jeep LJ. The product works flawlessly and makes it easy to remove the awning when not needed. I highly recommend this Mounting solution for round bar applications.
Product fit as expected and has been used extensively to secure Batwing (RR33300) awning to my existing roof-rack (all GREAT products).
