Video Transcript for Breaking Down the Bauer Products T-Handle Lock for Truck Caps

Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a look at the Bauer Products replacement T-Handle lock for your small truck caps. If something happened to your original T-Handle, it got busted or broken off, this is going to be a replacement for that to make sure that you can still get in there and access all your stuff. Let's take a closer look, talk about some of the features and I'll give you some measurements to make sure it is the right fit for you.It's going to be a simple T-Handle. It does turn counter-clockwise to operate. I've got my key in there, and right now it won't turn, so it's locked. If I turn that key, I can turn it counterclockwise and that should operate the latch inside to open it up.

Now it doesn't have the internal hardware, so you'll have to either replace that or reuse the hardware from before, but then to lock everything back up, you just have to turn it back to the position, and then you can take out the key.Does come with the key to go with that, so allows you to operate that lock. It's made out of a sturdy glass reinforced nylon, and then the metal portion is zinc. It should be nice and sturdy for many years to come, pretty corrosion resistant as well. Since it's a blind mounted design, it's going to be just flush against the truck cap, and then the mounting hardware is hidden inside that locked cap.Let's talk about measurements. As far as the T portion of that handle, it's about two and three quarter inches long, and about an inch and a quarter wide, kind of flares out at the bottom.

The threaded portion that goes back is an inch and a quarter long, and looks to be about three eighths of an inch in diameter.
