Video Transcript for Feature Review Putco Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we'll take a look at this Putco 60-inch long direct fit blade LED tailgate light bar. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2021 and newer Ford F150 trucks. And on a custom fit part like this I do like to always recommend to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show you if this will work for application. Now, this is a nice tailgate light bar which will provide auxiliary tail, stop, turn and backup light function.

This does install in the gap at the bottom of your tailgate between the tailgate and the bumper. This light bar uses LEDs and produces a bright red, amber or white light, based on which signal's being used. Now, at the end of this video I am going to connect this light to some 12-volt power to show you how the light bar works and how bright it is. But first, I wanna go over some of the features on it. Gonna zoom in on the bar itself.

It uses the COB, which is the chip onboard LED technology, which creates a bright, solid panel of light. Do you notice these LED chips are mounted close together for a nice uniform, high intensity light. So it's similar to a lighting panel. The lens and housing on this is a nice sealed lens and housing, which is waterproof, has an IP69K rating to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods. Also, if you notice the housing on this, you can see it's a tinted polycarbonate housing, provides a nice sleek look when it's installed.

Now, this is a very simple installation, comes with the included automotive grade 3M tape, the mounting clips, the connectors, even comes with this nice quick-connect custom-fit wiring harness that'll plug into your vehicle's existing light connections. So there's no cutting or splicing of the wires. Application, this is for full-sized trucks. The length on this, again, is 60 inches long. The width on it is five eighths of an inch, height of three eighths of an inch.

Now, when this goes into the backup light mode, which is the cool white color, the output is over 3000 lumens, and I just will show you that when we hook that up to the power. So I have it all plugged in. So what I'm gonna do is go ahead and turn on our 12-volt power. And the first thing you'll see is it'll come on with the all red LEDs. I'll go ahead and turn off the overhead light. And this would be like your running lights, your tail light function. So this will match what's on the vehicle. And then what'll happen when you apply your brakes, you'll also get this light bar to go brighter, just like your brake lights would go. And then another nice thing is when you go to your turn signals. You can see there's your passenger side, and those are amber LEDs. So you can see that that'll give you your passenger side turn signal. And then if you go to your driver side turn signal, it'll be the same way. You can see the amber LEDs will light up. And then the last one I wanted to show you, we talked about when you go into reverse, you'll use your backup lights will come on, and you'll be able to see, when those come on there, you can see how bright it is. It's a different, cool white color. But the other nice thing, the output on is about 3000 lumens. So it's very bright. So everybody behind you will be able to know that you're going in reverse. Gonna turn back on our overhead lights. And we'll turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on this Putco 60-inch long direct fit blade LED tailgate light bar..
