Video Transcript for Ultimate Overview of the Putco Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Putco 60-inch-long direct fit blade LED tailgate light bar. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2020 and newer Ford F250, F350, and F450 Super Duty trucks. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website and use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now this here is a tailgate light bar that'll provide a nice auxiliary tail, stop, turn, and backup light functions.

It is designed to install in the gap at the bottom of your tailgate, between the tailgate and the bumper. And what's nice is on this light bar it has LEDs which'll produce a nice bright red, amber, or white light based on which signal is being used. Now, at the end of this video, I am going to connect this to the light to some 12 volt power, just to show you how the light bar works and how bright it is. But I first wanna go over some of the features on it. I'm gonna zoom in and show it up close.

It does use the COB, which is chip onboard LED technology. This creates a nice, bright, solid panel of light. The LED chips, if you notice, are mounted close together, gives you a uniform high-intensity light similar to a lighting panel. This does have a nice sealed lens and housing unit which is waterproof, has an IP69K rating to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods. And if you notice it's a tinted polycarbonate housing, provides a nice sleek look.

Now this is a simple installation, comes with the included automotive grade 3M tape, the mounting clips, the connectors, and it even comes with this quick-connect custom fit wiring harness that'll plug into your vehicle's existing light connections and it has a four-way plug on the other end that you'll plug your light bar into. So there's no cutting or splicing of any wires. Application, again, this is for the full size trucks. The dimension on the light bar from one end to the other lengthwise is 60 inches. The width of it is only 5/8 of an inch wide, height is 3/8 of an inch tall.

Now the backup light, when it goes into the backup light mode, you'll get a nice, cool white backup light, and it'll give you over 3000 lumens. And when I turn that on, I'll be able to show you how bright that is. So what we're gonna do now is I got it hooked up to the 12 volt power. We'll first turn on the power and then that'll give you your running lights, your taillight, and you can see it's all red LEDs. I'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights and you can see it better. There it'd be under your tailgate, this'll be installed. And then when you go to hit your brake lights, you'll notice that as you apply your brake lights, it gets brighter, just like your brakes on your taillights'll do, so this'll match them. And then when you go to your turn signals, we'll first do the passenger side. So you can see that'll do the passenger side and that is lighting up actually a row of amber lights right under the red lights. So that's gonna give you the turn signal and then you'll also have it set up for the driver's side turn signal. And again, it's another row of amber lights right under the red lights. And then we talked about the reverse lights. So actually when you put your truck in reverse, it'll automatically go to the cool white mode. You can see the whole light bar lights up and gives you the cool white. And again, it's over 3000 lumens, so it's very bright, so anybody behind you will be able to see or notice that you are backing up. We'll go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights, turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on the Putco 60-inch-long direct fit blade LED tailgate light bar..
