Video Transcript for The Low-Down on the Putco Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Putco 60 inch long Direct Fit Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar. Now this is a custom fit part. This is designed to fit the 2017 to 2019 Ford F250, F350 and F450 trucks. Now on a custom fit part like this I like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year model vehicle and it'll show if this will work for your application. Now this tailgate light bar will provide nice auxiliary tail, stop, turn, and backup light functions.

This basically will install in the gap at the bottom of your tailgate between the tailgate and the bumper. The LEDs on this will produce a nice bright red, amber or white light, based on which signals being used. Now one thing I do wanna mention at the end of this video I am going to connect the light, to some 12 full power to show you how the light bars work. But I first wanna go over some of the features of it. So I wanna zoom in here and show you right here the light bar itself uses COB, which is Chip On Board LED technology.

Creates a nice bright solid panel of light. These LED chips you can see are mounted close together for a nice uniform high intensity light similar to a lighting panel. It is a nice sealed lens of housing unit, which is waterproof. It is IP69K rated to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods. And if you notice the tinted polycarbonate housing provides a nice sleek look when this is installed.

Now this is a simple installation, comes with the included automotive grade 3M tape, the mounting clips, all the connectors you need, even comes with this quick connect custom fit wiring harness which will plug into your vehicle's existing light connection. So there's no cutting or splicing of wires. Again the application, this is for full size trucks. The dimensions on this, the light from one end to the other lengthwise is 60 inches. The width of it is only five eights of an inch.

Height is only three eights of an inch tall. Now the backup light output, in other words when you get the white light, when you go into reverse it's gonna be outputs over 3000 lumens, and it's gonna give you a nice cool white color. So now what we're gonna do is I'm gonna go ahead and turn on the 12 volt power, and with the power on you'll be able to see, I'm gonna go ahead and turn off the overhead lights. And you'll be able to see there's your light bar in the running lights or taillight position. It's all red lights lit up. And then what you're gonna do is you'll notice when your brakes are applied, you'll be able to see the whole light bar gets brighter just like your brakes will on your taillights. So that'll be your brakes. And if you go for your turn signals you'll be able to see, there's your turn signal. It'll be on your passenger side. You can see now those are amber lights, it'll be the turning signals. And then if we go to the other side, we'll do our driver's side turn signals and again there'll be a row of amber lights doing that. And then as we mentioned the backup light circuit, when you go into reverse on your vehicle your backup light circuit you'll notice that you'll get a bright as we mentioned, output of 3000 lumens and it's a nice cool white light. So when you do go in reverse and you're going to back up, you'll be able to, most people behind you will be able to see that light, bright white light. I'll go ahead and turn back on overhead lights. We'll go ahead and turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on this Putco 60 inch long Direct Fit Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar..
