Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Putco 60 inch long Direct Fit Red Blade LED Tailgate Light Bar. Now, this is a custom fit part, this one here is designed to fit the 2020 and newer Ford F-250, F-350, and F-450 Super Duty trucks with the factory LED taillights. Now, on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and it'll show if this'll work for your application. Now, this tailgate light bar will provide a nice auxiliary stop, tail, turn, and backup light function. It is designed to install into the gap at the bottom of your tailgate between the tailgate and the bumper, and the LEDs on this will produce a nice, bright red or white light based on which signal's being used.

Now, at the end of this video, I am gonna connect this light to some 12 volt power just to show you how the light bar works. But first, I wanna go over some of the features. Just wanna zoom in for a closeup. If you look at the light bar, it uses the COB, which is chip-on-board LED technology, and what that does is it creates a nice, bright, solid panel of light, the LED chips you can see are mounted really close together for a nice, uniform, high-intensity light similar to a lighting panel, so when the light comes on on this, all you do is see a solid glow of light, not just each individual LED. It does use a nice sealed lens and housing unit, which is waterproof, has an IP69K rating to stand up to severe environmental conditions and cleaning methods, and it has a nice tinted polycarbonate housing to provide a nice, sleek look.

Now, this is a simple installation, comes with the included automotive grade 3M tape, the different mounting clips you can use to mount it, and then all the connectors you need. Comes with a nice set of instructions that'll describe how this connects, and it also, if you look here, comes with these quick-connect custom fit wiring harnesses that'll plug into your vehicle's existing light connections, and then the 4-way, right here, this 4-way will attach to the 4-way on your light bar. Now, there's no cutting or splicing of wires required, and as we mentioned, it's designed to fit vehicles with the LED taillights. Few specs on this, the application again is for full-size trucks, overall length is 60 inches, the width of it is only 5/8 of an inch, and the height is only 3/8 of an inch tall. Now, when we go into the backup light output, which will be the bright white light, that's gonna be a nice, cool white light, and that gives you over 3,000 lumens.

So I have it all hooked up, so what we're gonna do now is turn on the 12 volt power, and with that power on, I'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights, and you'll be able to see, here's your normal taillight function. You see, it's just a solid glow of light, and then when you hit your brakes, you can see how brighter it gets just like the brakes on your taillight, that'd be your brakes. And then if we go to the left turn signal, left turn signal you can see, whoops, there's your left turn signal, you can see that just gets brighter also. And then if we do the right turn signal, there's your right turn signal. And the last one we're gonna do is the backup lights, so you can see, when you go into the backup light mode, how bright it is, we mentioned it's over 3,000 lumens, and it's a nice, bright, cool white color, so that gives you a whole backup light, the whole length of your tailgate.
