Inno Velo Gripper Truck Bed

The space-saving Velo Gripper bike carrier lets you transport 1 bike in your truck bed. Because your bike sits along the side of your truck bed, you'll have plenty of room for everything else you need to haul. This carrier mounts easily onto the side rail of your truck bed, and ratcheting straps hold a bike of any shape or size by the seat stay and fork. Built-in D-rings act as tie-down spots so that you can secure your bike with a cable lock or secure other cargo with a bungee cord or tie-down strap.

Hassle-Free Bike Mounting

Inno Bike Mounting

Two ratcheting straps on adjustable rods hold one bike of any shape or size by the fork and seat stay - no need to remove your front wheel to mount your bike. The rods rotate so the holders can grab your bike from any angle. Rotating the rods also allows you to adjust the amount of space between your bike frame and the side of your truck bed. That way, you can position your bike close enough to the side of your truck bed to save space but not so close that your bike and truck bed make contact.

Simple Truck-Bed Installation

Inno Bike Mounting

The Velo Gripper installs without drilling onto your truck bed. To install, place the included protective plates on top of your truck bed rail to prevent the mounting brackets from scuffing or scratching the paint. Then, position the mounting brackets over the protective plates. Tighten the clamps down with the eye bolts to complete installation.

Space-Saving Design

Inno Space Saving

Your bike will rest on both wheels in its normal upright position on the inside of your truck bed. This mounting style leaves most of your truck bed open to carry other gear. You can position your bike at the front or the rear of your truck bed to help reduce the potential for the bike to roll. This not only reduces pressure on the Velo Gripper but also saves space in your truck bed.

D-Ring Attachments

Inno D Ring

Each clamp has an attached D-ring that enables you to use tie-down straps with or without your bike mounted. Loop a a cable lock with a maximum diameter of 3/4" (sold separately) through the D-rings or the eye bolts and through your bike frame to lock the carrier to your truck and your bike to the carrier. A 5' - 6' long cable is recommended for locking your bike and both clamps. When you're not transporting a bike, these D-rings make great tie-down spots for securing other gear in your truck.

High build quality but the the straps are too short for a mountain bike. This Prevents where you can attach it to the bike. This product would be 5 stars if the strap were an inch longer.

I ordered 2 racks. It took a little while to get the clamps in place and tightened down primarily because my truck has a 5 1/2 foot bed and the bikes are longer than that. Once I got the placement right I was able to clamp the bikes in place without taking off the front wheels. Tested the security on a rough road and the bikes stayed solidly in place. I have more room in the bed now the bikes are closer to the side of the truck than before. The racks are going work well for us.

We use these racks every time we travel. I highly recommend them. Well worth the money

A wonderful little device. I’ve used the bike Velo Gripper Bike Rack a lot over the past year. It’s easy to fit to my bike, it’s secure on long rides, and stows underneath my back seat. Great product!

Using the Grippers for carrying 2 ebikes, weighing 55 & 75 lbs. I know this is above the rated bike weights but so far they have performed well. My short bed keeps the 75# bike pretty well locked in front to back so that may help.

We have two bikes. I ordered one bike rack because I was unsure about how the rack would work with my mini folding E bike. After installing and checking the regular bike I checked the E bike. No problem. The gripper works great. The quality is good and it has the ability to adjust how far the bike sits from the truck’s rail. I ordered the 2nd rack online and within 20 minutes received a call from etrailer asking if it was a duplicate order. I appreciated their call and concern while explaining why I now was ordering another gripper. Great product and great customer service.

Comments
After a year using the Gripper Bike Rack I am still impressed with this product. The rack holds our two bikes securely and takes a minimal amount of time to strap them in. Love them and would advise anyone with a pu truck to look into purchasing them.

Inexpensive and reliable way to carry your bikes upright in your truck bed without having to remove the front wheel to put into a receiver. leaves lots of room to carry other things in the bed because it allows the bikes to be secured closed to the side of the bed.

Great product that works as advertised. I have a 2018 f150 5.5’ box. I have used this twice to transport my bike and the bike is really secured well. I have to leave my tailgate down as the bike comes out of the bed maybe an inch or 2. The wheel well in my bed does slightly get in the way when screwing in the eye bolt but once in place it hold the bike perfectly. I do use a stretch cord also due to the fact that the tailgate must be left down.

I ordered these grip clamps so we could transport our electric bikes upright in the back of our truck. And I am very happy with them. They are well made, easy to install and even stay secure when going through the car wash. I highly recommend them.

Great product money well spent! Little bit of a challenge to figure out how I was going to make it work with a pickup with a toolbox in the back especially having a Fat Tire Bike but the flexibility of the clamps makes it very easy to find a location to hold up my bike. Looks dope and works great easy on easy off. Note to self when the clamps are on Mark the edges with a marker or paint pen so this way when you take the clamps off you can put them right in the same spot and you don't have to worry about figuring out where they go again

Have had these for about a year. They work great! They store under the seat of the truck when not in use. Easy to put bikes in the rack without having to get in or out of the truck. And install / uninstall quickly. Even has a loop on the top that I run a cable through when racks are on but bikes aren't to lock up the racks themselves.

This is my second purchase from etrailer and both have been seamless. Great communication, pkg arrives in its' original box expertly wrapped inside a shipping box. Product arrived as claimed and is more heavy duty than I'd have thought. etrailer pricing is excellent and less than other online sites! Easy install. Most difficult part of the install was finding the "voids" in the 2018 F250 bedside allowing the handle to tighten/loosen w/o rubbing the bedside. Still only took about 15 min. Great product from a reputable distributor-highly recommend both!

The 201 bike holder is top quality. It is built strong, with metal components. After testing my first one, I did not hesitate to buy another for my wife's bike. Installation takes about 5 minutes and will remain where you put it. To secure them, simply run a cable through some loops. I recommend this solution for those cyclists who don't want to drill holes in their truck beds. BTW, shipping was fast!

These clamps are beefier than expected, easy to install, and hold bike very firmly in place. One drawback is that with my bike and truck size, the hold down strap on the seat bar hits where the derailleur is clamped to the bar. So I had to raise the RT201 with a small wood block.

We take our ebikes when camping, but because the RV uses the truck hitch, are not able to use a rack. Tailgate keepers allow too much movement of bikes plus they are susceptible to rocks and other road damage. We ordered the Inno Gripper hoping to carry the bikes inside the truck bed. As with most ebikes in a standard truck bed, they are too long to fit straight in, so the front wheel must be turned in order to fit the bikes and shut the tailgate. As a result, the front frame is several inches further from the side, so the gripper doesn't reach the frame. I found the dimensions of the threaded rod and replaced with one several inches longer so the gripper would extend to the bike. Voila! Our ebikes are securely attached to the truck bed with virtually no movement. We've traveled nearly a thousand miles with our ebikes safely secured by the Inno Velo Gripper and couldn't be happier. Even friends who previously used tailgate keepers or racks have switched to the gripper as it secures the expensive bikes so much better than other options. etrailer did not have the longer rods, so I purchased on [online]. Inno really should make extended rods available as an option as everyone I know has an issue with bike length in their truck bed (the reason they go with tailgate keepers and racks). It took me a long time to find the properly threaded rod and extra couplers.

Very easy to use and probably the best bike mounts I have ever bought. We even have other people stop and ask us where we got them.

- INRT201
by:

Better than I expected. C-clamp is beefy. Assembly is easy and straightforward. Best of all, once you get the dimensions and placement set, you can take them off and store until needed, because it takes just a couple of minutes to re-install at the locations you mark on the bed rail.

- INRT201

The design of the product is great and holds the bike well. The problem is after a few uses, the long black bolt gets slightly bent from bouncing around I guess. I ordered replacement part only to have it happen again after a couple of uses.

Great product. Don’t have to take wheel off or climb in the bed of the truck to haul my two bikes anymore. Easy to mount with no tools. Easy to adjust if we bring a different size bike. Had them for a year, still love them.

2016 GMC Sierra 2500

Great product but could be better. The plastic threaded cap just doesn’t inspire confidence if it was stressed in any way laterally. Doubt a 20 lb bicycle would do it but if for some reason the bikes not in the truck bed and one of these threaded anchor straps were to get hit the plastic probably would break. I mean it is a truck first and bicycle hauler 2nd. Unscrewing the mount straps every time would be a pain. Outside that concern the product does the job it’s intended to do.

Everything arrived in good order, ahead of time. There are some minor problems with the instruction manual. The instructions at the top of p. US-3 don’t make sense. I read them repeatedly and finally realized that the word “are” between “clamps” and “over” is missing (a failure to translate se trouvent in French, estén in Spanish). I am familiar with both of those languages, and so I could consult the other texts for clarification. Similarly, a very minor point of translation: “pushing” in the directions by the arrow should be simply “push” Another admittedly very minor point (but you might as well get even small details right, if corrections are going to be made): “Make sure you follow [the] instruction[s],” not just “follow instruction” (though the meaning is clear, the translation is odd and not idiomatic) Yet another minor point: The opening text instructs readers to contact the service center at “the bottom of the page.” But there is nothing at the bottom of the page. What is meant is the “end of the instructions” on p. 3. The French also has “en bas de la page.” The Spanish is better “al final.” In English simply “below” should suffice and be less confusing — though I doubt that anyone will get confused about how to contact the service center. To move to more substantial issues: One of my main uncertainties about the Velo Gripper was how much to cut my previously installed truck-bed lining (which extends to the top of the sides of the bed) to allow the clamps to fit and be manually accessible. This was also my main hesitation about buying the Velo Gripper. At any rate, I cut holes of approximately four by six inches. The four holes do not seem to me to present any problems. I had years ago cut smaller holes in the lining when installing a kayak carrier — without creating any problems. It’s hard to make sense out of the terms used on p. US-1 under “Caution”: “Remove the bed lining when it interrupts the installation of the carrier.” I don’t understand what “interrupts the installation” actually means in this context; it seems so vague as to be worthless. The French and Spanish versions are not much better. At any rate, I was not going to remove all of my bed lining. I am above all puzzled by the “maximum load 33 pounds,” which would disqualify many bicycles and virtually all e-bikes. Why so light? One of my e-bikes weighs 34 pounds and another around 50 pounds. I can’t see why there would be a danger for them, and thus I ignored this warning. Am I missing something? I would of course not use the Velo Grippers to hold something as heavy as a motorcycle, but up to around 60 pounds seems safe enough. Perhaps worries about liability have resulted in unrealistic directions. I should say that I also use supplementary straps to make sure the bikes remain securely in place. The manual’s instructions emphasize that one should “make sure to follow all of the instructions carefully.” I actually doubt that most of your customers do that — or even read the directions rather than simply follow the pictures — but if I had done so scrupulously I probably would have returned the product. That would have been a shame, since it is a good product, though I will have to reserve my final judgement until I have used it extensively.

I like the product. Easy and quick to get bikes on and off the racks. Would have rated it higher but for a couple of things that I think could use improvement. 1. The rubber pads on the brackets fell off rather easily causing wear on bike frame. Look at using better adhesive. That’s what I did. 2. I cannot install the racks without removing the rails from my bed cover. If the bracket had another 1/2” of depth I would not have to remove the rails. Again solvable but would be nice if the bracket could accommodate this. But having said all that I have not been able to find anything better and I do promote them when asked.

Easy Install and holds bike well. I did need to trim by bed-liner to allow for correct placement on the side-rails and to allow the bolts to be tightened.

This was just what we were looking for. When we go camping and pull the camper the bike can ride upright and not fall over. Keeps it out of the way of the other things we tote in the back with it. Thanks for a wonderful product.
