2014 Toyota Tacoma - Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, -6 AN Inlets - Class V

  • Remote Cooler

12-3/4" Wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep, remote cooler assembly features a high-efficiency, plate-and-fin heat-exchanger core with 500-CFM tornado fan for maximum airflow, ensuring optimum performance for your automatic transmission.

Features:

  • Has highly efficient, plate-fin cooler core for optimum heat transfer and minimum pressure drop
  • Offers superior airflow with 500-CFM, reversible tornado fan
  • Mounts anywhere with aluminum mounting brackets

    • Complete cooler assembly
    • Aluminum AN fittings
    • Brass hose-barb adapters

    • Additional compression fittings
    • 180-Degree, in-line thermostat for power-saving fan shut-off
    • Insta-dapt radiator adapter
    • All necessary mounting hardware

Specs:

  • Inlets: -6 AN

  • Distance between inlets: 8-9/16"
  • Mounting dimensions: 4" tall x 11-5/8" wide
  • 1-Year warranty

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

With a fan-mounted heat exchanger unit, you can be sure that there will always be optimum airflow for your engine oil cooler no matter where your cooler is mounted or what sort of environment you are traveling through. Couple that with the highly efficient, plate-fin core - wherein finned chambers provide increased surface area, allowing superior heat transfer with minimum pressure drop - and you have a truly effective heat-exchange system.

This system is ideal for late-model, electronic overdrive transmissions in which ensuring proper cooling and pressure maintenance is of the utmost importance.

The fan is nice, the brass compression barbed fittings did not work. They leaked from both threads. I paid for fancy with a quickness 2 day shipping, took 5 days. I’m just glad I wasn’t too much in a hurry to cool my dads transmission for his road trip.

by:

Everything was included to install the cooler and instruction sheet is useful. Hardest issue is where to mount. No leaks so far. Should help trans temps while towing.

Great product, awesome price and very easy to install

  • What Is the Amp Draw of the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit D13950
The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13950 will draw up to 4.8 amps. In regards to fluid capacity, this is not a figure that Derale provides. That said if the reason you are asking this is to determine how much fluid needs to be added to the system in order to account for the increased fluid capacity, I would say around 1/4-1/2 quart but this will vary mostly based on the length of line used so it is best to check and then add as needed.

  • BTU Rating of Detale D13950 Atomic-Cool Remote Mount Transmission Cooler
According to Derale, their # D13950 Atomic-Cool Remote Mount Transmission Cooler offers a 22,000 BTU/Hour Cooling Rating and would be a minimally adequate choice for a vehicle used on a drag strip, I'd recommend bumping up to a 46K unit such as the Derale Hyper-Cool # D15960. Drag racing is extremely hard on a transmission, it would make good sense to make the small investment to upgrade to the higher capacity cooler.

  • Can a Transmission Cooler Bypass the Factory Cooler on a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder
A lot of people with Nissan vehicles are looking to bypass the factory cooler contained in the radiator like on your 2007 Nissan Pathfinder. The coolers we carry are designed to supplement the factory cooler although some people have used them to replace the factory cooler. You would want to go with the largest cooler possible if you bypass the factory cooler and the inlet/outlets on the radiator for the factory cooler will have to be plugged. Or instead of the largest cooler you would...

  • Transmission Cooler and Install Location for 2008 GMC Yukon Denali
You will want to install a supplemental transmission cooler on the return line of your correct transmission cooler. This means the fluid first goes into the factory cooler and then goes into the supplemental cooler before going back to the transmission. For a cooler for your 2008 GMC Yukon the Derale part # D13504 would be a really great option that's larger in size and a very efficient style. As long as you install this out in front of your current radiator/condenser setup this will work...

  • Parts Needed to Install a Transmission Cooler on a 2004 Buick Rainier With 3600 Stall Converter
My research shows that you will need to add the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting, # D13035, to the Derale Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13504, that you selected, to complete the installation on your 5.3 liter V8 GM motor. This cooler would work fine to help cool the transmission for towing. It sounds as if you are building a street strip application, with a 3600 stall converter, so I would recommend going with a Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13950. This...

As long as you have the available space in the area where you want to install the cooler, you can certainly use the # D13950 Atomic Cool Transmission Cooler on your 2012 Yukon. Keeping the transmission cool when you're moving in stop-and-go traffic is exactly what this particular cooler is designed for. The # D13035 you already have is the recommended fitting. • How to Select Best Transmission Cooler for 2012 Chevy Silverado
The best transmission cooler for your 2012 Chevy Silverado is going to be the largest one that fits. A unit with a fan will give your truck optimum cooling power, but you do need to measure to ensure that you have enough room for this type of cooler to fit because a unit with a fan will take up more room. For example, the Derale 16-Pass Electra-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler # D15900 measures 15-3/4" wide x 11-1/2 " tall x 5" deep so you would need to find that amount of space under...

  • Will the Derale Atomic-Cool Transmission Cooler Fit on a 2009 Silverado 1500 Z71 4WD
The ideal operating temperature for transmission fluid should remain between 160 and 200 degrees. If your transmission fluid was reaching 195 degrees when towing your fifth wheel trailer, it would be a good idea to either upgrade your factory added cooler or add an additional transmission cooler because this temperature could increase if you are towing on in hot weather or through hills where the engine and transmission will be working harder than on flat ground. The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13503, will provide extra cooling to help keep your transmission at normal temperatures when towing. Whether or not any cooler will provide enough cooling depends on many factors specifically related to your vehicle and trailer setup. I did a bit of checking on the 2006 Nissan Titan towing capacities and found that the 2006 Titan is rated for somewhere between 9,200 lbs and 9,500 lbs Gross trailer weight, properly loaded...

The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 is actually designed to mount away from the front of the vehicle it is being installed on, which in your case is a 2012 Jeep Liberty. Apart from that there are no specific spots this kit is meant to be mounted as it is a more universal application; it can be mounted anywhere else that you have space to fit its 12-3/4" wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep dimensions. • Recommendation for a Supplemental Transmission Cooler for a 2007 Ford F-150 with 5.4 Liter Engine
Based on the information you have provided, which I greatly appreciate, a standard supplemental cooler should be sufficient for your needs. Ideally you want the transmission temperature to be no more than 200 degrees F. Mounting a larger cooler directly behind the grille (in front of everything else) such as # D13504 should get you to the ideal range. Both the Derale transmission coolers you mentioned would work great installed on your 2010 Chevy Silverado with a 4.8 liter V8. The part # D13960 is the more efficient style of cooler as it has a stacked plate whereas the # D13950 is a plate and fin cooler which is still really effective but not quite as effective as the stacked plate. The transmission cooler is not directional so having the inlet on the top or bottom does not matter. You will want to choose the inlet or outlet port location by what will make your installation easier. Since this cooler comes with a fan-mounted heat exchanger you can mount the exchanger wherever you want because the fan will provide optimum airflow.
