Expert Reply:
The transmission coolers that we carry are meant as supplemental coolers anyway so they will work great for what you want to do. The path of the fluid will start at the transmission, go to the factory cooler, then to the supplemental cooler, and then back to the transmission.
For a remote cooler that includes the mounting hardware you can use # D13950. I have included a link to the installation details for you. I have also included a link to our FAQ article to the right on transmission coolers. Remote coolers with powered fans will provide you with optimum cooling whether the truck is moving or not. This kit also includes an in line 180 degree thermostat so it will kick on and off automatically.
