One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

This oil cooler has really helped improve the oil pressure in my GEN III Hemi by reducing the oil temperate approximately 20 degrees cooler than before we installed it. Excellent product by Derale and service by etrailer.com.

by:

The cooler was easy to install, the instruction were easy to follow. I did check the oil temp after pulling a 4000 ft grade pulling a camp trailer with an electronic temp probe and there was a 50 deg temp drop thru the cooler.

Fittings came contaminated with metal shavings from machining and wouldn't even fit in to the cooler really poor quality. If this is in the fittings who knows whats in the cooler. Complete waste of time do not buy

  • Transmission Cooler Kit for a 2018 Ram 3500 Dually w/ the 6.7 Cummins Turbo Diesel Engine
The best transmission cooler kit for your 2018 Ram 3500 Dually with the 6.7 Cummins Turbo Diesel engine is going to be the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets item # D13611. • Transmission Cooler for 2018 Ford F-150 with 5.0L V8 Engine and Sealed Transmission
In regards to transmission coolers, the best option for your 2018 Ford F-150 with a 5.0L V8 (or any vehicle for that matter) is you want the largest cooler that you can get to fit because you cannot over-cool fluids. So you are going to want to measure at the installation location on your truck (see accompanying diagram) and select the largest cooler that fits. Your options are: - Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13504: 11" wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep - Derale Series...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2005 Chevy Colorado
The best way to pick out a transmission cooler is to measure the amount of space you have in front of your radiator and pick out the largest cooler that would fit there. If you have room for it I would recommend you go with a Derale Transmision Cooler part # D13502. This cooler measures 11 inches wide by 7-1/4 inches tall by 7/8 inches deep. You will also want the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting # D13035 to make installation easier. Check out the install video and FAQ article...

  • Which Transmission Cooler is Recommended for a 2005 Honda Pilot
Mounting a trans cooler in front of everything else, radiator and AC condenser, will yield the most cooling ability. The size of the heat exchanger is the factor that weighs most heavily on the cooling ability followed by location and construction/design. The best way to select a cooler is by considering the load you will be towing and the area you will be towing in. The cooler needed to aid in towing a single jet ski in a cool or moderate climate would not be nearly as big as the cooler...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation and Installation on a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 4.7L
The plate-fin transmission coolers are more efficient than the tube-fin transmission coolers. Both types of coolers operate the same, but the plate-fin coolers uses smaller plates to allow more fluid to contact the aluminum surface inside the cooler. More surface contact results in greater heat dissipation. I have attached two FAQ articles on transmission coolers for you to check out. When choosing a transmission cooler, we always recommend installing the largest transmission cooler...

  • Will Transmission Cooler Resolve Mixed Coolant Issues On A 2005 Nissan Frontier
Any of the transmission coolers we sell are designed more as a supplemental cooler that is meant to augment the factory transmission cooler portion of the radiator, not replace it entirely. If you are having the common problem with the radiator leaking causing the engine coolant contaminating the transmission fluid, your best bet would be to have the original radiator replaced. Nissan has extended the factory warranties on radiators on 2005-2010 Frontier, Pathfinder and Xterra models....

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendations for a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado 4X4 5.7L
To determine what kind of transmission cooler you will need depends on how much weight you will be towing and where you will be towing. Also, you will want to check how much room you have in front of the radiator to be able to install the transmission cooler. If you will be towing a light load, less than 2000lbs, in flat driving conditions, your 1998 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 5.7L will do fine with a class I rated cooler. If you will be towing more than a 2000lb load through some hills,...

  • Secondary Transmission Cooler For A 2000 Honda Accord V6 Needed
The best way to select the correct transmission cooler is by determining where there is enough space to mount it. The attached diagram shows the best three positions to mount the transmission cooler in order. Transmission coolers are more efficient when they receive maximum air flow. The factory transmission cooler is likely inside of the radiator on your 2006 Nissan Xterra so the only way to replace it would be to replace the radiator. You can probably find an aftermarket one for less money than an OEM replacement from Nissan. I can tell you that what they want to charge, assuming that includes parts AND labor, is not a bad price for that type of repair. Bypassing the factory cooler would be the best option if you don't want to replace the radiator. If you do that...

For example, a small cooler like the Derale # D13611 (about 11 x 4-inches) carries a Class I rating while the much larger # D13503 (11 x 8-3/4-inches) is rated...
