I assumed that this trailer winch would come supplied with a Strap? Unfortunately the replacement winch I removed had the strap sewn on which seems pretty common. Now I am on the hunt for a strap compatible for this replacement winch - which is too bad

This winch does not come with a strap or a rope. A great option for a replacement strap for this winch is the Fulton Heavy-Duty Winch Strap with Hook FWS20HD0200. This strap attached to the winch reel with a bolt and nut.

What are Drum and Shaft Dimensions of Fulton Single Speed Winch?
I headed out to the warehouse and took some measurements for the Fulton Single Speed Winch - 8" Long Handle - 1,300 lbs, # F142104. The drum has a diameter of approximately 5-1/2 inches, and the shaft has a length of about two inches. It can carry 30 feet of 5/16-inch rope, or 20 feet of 2-inch strap.

Due to the age of your Fulton T1401 winch we don't have a repair kit available for it. It has been discontinued so as a replacement I recommend the Fulton Single Speed Trailer Winch - 8" Long Handle - 1,500 lbs # F142201. The slightly smaller option is the Fulton Single Speed Winch - 8" Long Handle - 1,300 lbs # F142104. If you need a larger capacity, you can use the Fulton High-Performance Brake Winch - Cable Only - 2,500 lbs # F143201.

Comparing TUFFPLATE and Z-Max Finishes on 1.3K Hand Winches
When comparing the 1.3K Dutton-Lainson Hand Winch # DL14362 and the 1.3K Fulton Single Speed Winch # F142104, I recommend the Fulton option because it has a long salt spray rating at 600 hours for the Z-Max. Replacement Spring for Fulton T1300 Trailer Winch Made In 1999
I do have an option for you but the spring is no longer available for you Fulton T1300 Trailer Winch made in 1999. Therefore, you will need to replace the entire winch for which I recommend the Fulton Single Speed Winch part # F142104. This winch is a single speed and has a 1,300 lb weight capacity. It can be used with a 20' long x 2" wide strap like part # FWS20HD0200.

Differences Between 900LB and 1,300LB Fulton Single Speed Winches
Currently we only have the 900LB # F142007 with the strap. It is smaller than the 1,300LB # F142104 winch with a smaller handle length and drum size. As far as operating the winch they are very similar with a similar handle and switch being in the same position.
