Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Folks, today we're taking a look at a nice set of Dee Zee mounting hardware kit for the underbody or sidestep toolboxes. So folks with these, you would simply either weld, drill holes, mount this to the underside, possibly of your frame of your trailer, maybe a truck bed, something like that. And basically you'd be able to then sit the toolbox or any kind of box inside of these angle brackets. You could slide 'em and install 'em at the exact width that you need for that toolbox. And they gave you a nice, rigid hold and hold up.
They are a nice, very heavy duty powder coated steel. They're angled, made out of angle iron. They're about 18 inches tall by 18 inches long, and it's a two inch wide piece of angle iron. Now folks, there is no hardware included. You would've to get your own hardware.
And this is made here in the US. Everything's been welded nice, powder coated, nice and neat. And again, it's gonna require four, 3/8 inch bolts. Those are sold separately. Now again, there's no hole drill these yet.
So the 3/8 inch is just the manufacturers minimum recommendation, meaning they need to be at least 3/8 inches thick to be able to support the weight and the weight of your toolbox and all your gear inside. So if you've got more space, I personally would go up to like maybe 1/2 inch bolt, but that's just me. I sent the brackets back when I canceled the tool box that was delayed on back order for 5 months. The process was easy and went well even after 5 months
Install was easy. Wish the brackets would have came with mounting hardware. Overall, satisfied with the purchase. Now I will have all the tools readily available when I need them without having to remember to put my box of trailer tools and parts in the truck before I head out on a fishing trip.
Brackets were heavy duty and fit great although I did paint them to match my trailer
These were exactly what I was looking for. Easy to install and great quality! Will buy more in the near future for other trucks.
