Hello, neighbors, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together today at this icon trailer coupler lock for your Hit-N-Hitch 2 5/16 inch ball couplers. Now, folks getting right into it, this 22 pounds of hardened steel. Number one, it's gonna be a visual deterrent. I know if I saw this on someone's coupler, I'd be like, yeah, no way I'm getting into that. So the hardened steel, hardened cast steel here and all these fins that protrude out from it are gonna be a big visual deterrent, number one.
But number two, it's gonna be a nice protectant against power tools, cutters, grinders, those kind of things. Now it does have a nice e-coat underneath everything, and then followed up here by the powder coat in black. As you can see, the tumbler and everything inside that centerpiece is stainless steel. How do you use it Well, pretty simple, you screw off the top here. That gives you visual access to the keyhole.
This big chunk of stainless steel here is solid. It's got threads and an O-ring there, gasket. That's gonna keep the water debris moisture out of the key area. They give you four keys. They're weighted keys, meaning they're kind of thick and heavy.
They are a half circle design and they're only cut on one side. So you put that in there. Number one, it's gonna be harder for someone to lock pick this, because it's not the most common kind of lock out there. Number two, you simply twist it to unlock it, then you can lock it as needed. And again, getting those even copied, you'd have to contact the locksmith, and they'd have to probably special order them to get that style of key.
So they really went over above, in my opinion, to think about how to keep this safe, secure. You get four keys up front, so you know, put some in a safe spot where you're never gonna lose those as backups and then have your main one with you at all time and those kind of things. So very nice design, very quick install. Like I said, remove the external cap, unlock it, slide it over the coupler, replace it, and you're good to go. And again, this fits the Hit-N-Hitch 2 5/16 inch ball couplers. Now the exterior is protected by that powder coat. It's UV resistant, rust corrosion resistant, and it's also gonna give it more stability and resist chipping, mix burrs, those kind of things. Obviously something this big and heavy you're putting it on, you're probably gonna hit something every time, you know, whether it's the metal on metal inside there. But they've got a nice little cushion spot here. It's not really cushion, it's more of like a hard plastic that's gonna help it kind of slide over and not damage the metal as well. So a well thought out design here. Folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look at this coupler lock. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
