This lock fits 2-5/16" ball couplers with a flat lip. Examples of some of the couplers it fits are pictured below.
This coupler lock has a disc tumbler locking mechanism. Unlike locks that use vulnerable spring-loaded pins, this ultra-secure lock is bump-proof. The cylinder has a series of rotating discs that can be correctly lined up only when you turn the corresponding key. Two identical notched keys are included to operate the lock. Because these keys feature 1 of nearly a million possible key codes, it's extremely unlikely that another individual will have a key that can open this lock.

What's up everybody, it's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the AMP lock two and five sixteen ball flat lip coupler lock. So this is going to go right here on the coupler, on the front of your trailer. And it's going to keep anybody from pulling here and hooking it up to your trailer and taking it when you're not around. What sets apart this lock from other ones is some of the ones just have like a little tab that's going to cover up the coupler. And that can be pried out with a tool, or you can get around that.
This ball goes all the way up in here. It takes up all that space. So it's going to be hard to even get a tool in there and you're not going to be able to hook up anything else to it. So that's that extra protection and you have the cast iron part here. That's going to go over the lip of the trailer.
So you can see this groove here is exactly for that. And this is going to fit right there in the ball, put into place. You can just push the cylinder at the bottom and it's locked in. You're gonna get two keys with it. That way you can put one on the key ring, leave one in your truck just in case you lose it.
And you got a rotating disc tumbler lock here at the bottom. So that's going to be resistance to drilling or anybody trying to pick it, they're not going to get through to it. It's really easy. We just put the key in there turn and the cylinder will drop down. They know it's unlocked.
So right now it's unlocked so I can remove the key and then slide it off. Outside you have the cast iron portion that goes over the flat lip here on the coupler and that's going to be shock absorbent. So even if somebody was going to hit it with a hammer or something it's going to be able to absorb that punishment and not get destroyed. In addition to our coupler lock I would recommend getting a coupler latch lock. This is going to go right in here and lock this up. That way nobody can mess with this or this. We have them on our website. So just look for a coupler latch lock. The maximum width of the coupler with a flat lip is going to be four nine sixteen". Now the maximum thickness of that lip is going to be seven sixteenth of an inch. The other thing to point out is the ball itself is only going to fit two and five sixteen" couplers. Overall I think is going to be very useful to have just seeing this on the front of the trailer is going to keep people from messing with it. They're just going to see that and move on to the next one. If they want to mess with something but otherwise it will be locked up. You got all that protection there and nobody can hook up or even really pry out on it. So it's going to keep your trailer protected. I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out. I hope this helped..

Has worked flawlessly for over a year stored outdoors in Chicago. Finish seems to be holding up and the action still works smooth. This is a very robust design that would be difficult to defeat.

well, nobody has has tried to put a sledgehammer to it in the middle of the nite yet,but from the looks of it, I don't think it would hurt it much anyway. I like the design, an it looks very strong,an so far I'm happy. I like the way it locks.
Great heavy duty lock. Have put it on at every stop, we feel secure leaving our home knowing it’s not going anywhere. The lock hole being on the bottom of the unit is a bit of a pain at times but would also make it harder for someone to pick it. Over all I am happy with my purchase
