Question:
My 2021 Sundowner horse trailer has a Hit-N-Hitch coupler. Does the alter icon lock AL43DQ still let me access the latch, or do I need to remove it every time I hook up?

Courtney, once the # AL43DQ is in place, it completely covers the latch housing. That’s intentional - thieves can’t access the latch or the ball cavity. To hook up, you’ll remove the lock (takes just seconds with the key) then re-install when you unhitch.
You may be getting confused with a lock pin that goes in the coupler's latch and that can stay on when you're towing. Something like Trimax Adjustable Trailer Coupler Latch Lock - 1/4" Pin - 7/8" to 3-1/2" Spans # TMX98SR.
Do you typically store the Sundowner at fairgrounds or at home?
