Nothing’s worse than a wheel that won’t stay seated after a few trips. This 12" x 4" steel modular wheel uses Improved Torque Retention (ITR) technology with beveled, uncoated stud holes for better clamp force retention. The raised center disc design helps it stay tight against the hub without needing constant retightening, giving you a more dependable setup mile after mile.

Moisture, salt, and road grime don’t stand a chance here. The wheel goes through a zinc phosphate bath, then an e-coat primer, and finally a baked-on silver powder coat on the outboard side. The inboard side gets a light e-coat to cut down friction and prevent flaking. It’s a simple but tough finish that keeps the steel looking good and protected from rust season after season.
This modular-style steel wheel is built for real-world hauling with a 1,250-lb capacity and solid all-steel construction. It meets SAE J1204 standards and includes a valve stem right out of the box. Whether it’s long-distance towing or everyday work, it’s designed to take on heavy loads without flexing or fatigue.
Getting the fit right matters when you’re setting up your trailer. This wheel uses a 4 on 4" bolt pattern with a 2.82" pilot diameter and zero offset for balanced alignment on the hub. Wheel bolt size is 1/2"-20, so installation stays straightforward across standard setups.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. And today, we're gonna take a look at this Taskmaster 12 inch by four-inch silver steel modular trailer wheel with a four on four-inch bolt pattern. This steel wheel with modular design is sturdy and corrosion resistant. This wheel features a three-step finishing process that includes a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion, e-coated primer, and a silver powder coat on the outside. On the inside, it is lightly e-coated to reduce friction and provide rust resistance with less flaking.
Now, this features improved torque retention technology or ITR, which helps to keep the wheel securely in place on your trailer. Uncoated stud holes are beveled to offer better clamp force retention. As you can see, the valve stem is included. And this wheel meets SAE J1204 standards. The rim dimensions, from bead seat to bead seat is 12 inches in diameter.
And it is four inches wide, again, bead seat to bead seat. Now, the bolt pattern, as we mentioned, is four on four inches. And that first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes, which as you can see is four. And that second number denotes the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So, to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an even number of bolt holes, you just simply measure from the center of one bolt hole and directly to the center of the hole across from it.
Now, the wheel stud size is a half-inch by 20 and the capacity is 1,250 pounds. The center cap is sold separately. Just make sure, if you do pick one up, that it fits the pilot diameter of 2.82 inches. And this has a zero offset. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today.
I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me..

Totally, Brent! Now if you have to use the spare, you'll still be riding in style :) Did you spend any time on the water over the weekend?

I love both the tires and rims. With the old tires I’d drive down the expressway doing 60 mph max with a speed limit of 70. Scared I was going to have another blowout which ended up costing about $1500 in repairs plus the experience for 5 feet away from 70 mph semis. Now it trailer my RV at 70 with no concerns of a blow out. Thanks for providing a tire I couldn’t get any where else.
