Good hitch, not great delivery. Everything was as advertised and installation was perfectly consistent with instructional videos…. But the boxing came messed up and the metal was scraped up considerably with paint gone in multiple places. Not the end of the world - I threw some protectant paint over it - but not the kind of thing you want to see with something you just purchased brand new. I realize this is partially a shipping issue, but I think these products should be boxed with the expectation of rough handling and provide padding accordingly to prevent this kind of thing.
The hitch is up against the exhaust muffler pinch weld and makes an unbelievable amount of noise when both going over bumps and when the hybrid system starts and stops the motor.
It also induces a very loud resonance through the car from the exhaust touching the hitch and the hitch being attached to the frame.
We will now have to find some way to isolate the hitch from the exhaust, which is extremely unfortunate.

I read many reviews of this product, and a common concern by many customers was the condition of the hitch when delivered... I agree. The box was damaged, and the finish on the hitch was very scratched, exposing bare metal. I know this is a shipping issue, not a product quality issue. I will fix it myself, but etrailer needs to be aware of the packaging issues!

The hitch was easy to fit and works perfectly. The paint and finish are still good after one year of use in the south.
Easy job in the apartment parking lot, a screwdriver, socket wrench and a blade are all that's needed. It's probably as much the car model as the hitch design but it looks really clean, the 2" receiver section is all that's visible. The hardest part was peeling the tape off where the holes are (haha, seriously). Installation video was helpful.

Great product and fits well on the car. The packaging needs to be more thoughtful however; a wider but lower box with foam around the flanges would be one solution.
This is my fourth hitch from eTtailer. Easy to install. Good video. Quick delivery. However, Packing was minimal and the ends pierced through the box and some paint chipped off in transport.

Hitch looks great except areas of chipped paint exposing the bare steel on the upper edges where it gets bolted. Otherwise delivery was fast and service rep Will was extremely helpful throughout the process.

Easy to install and looks like factory
This does not fit a 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid without slight modification. The mounting holes do not align with the Mazda’s predrilled frame holes, otherwise the plates and crossbar fit perfectly. I filled in the slotted holes on the receiver by welding them closed and redrilled the holes using 1/2” bit, since that is slightly larger than M12.
The Mazda Hybrid frame has a 9” (and some slop) opening between the bumper and the exhaust mounting plate. The first predrilled holes are roughly 1-3/8” from both the bumper and the exhaust plates, with 6-5/16” on center spacing. The slots on the receiver are 6-3/4” spacing, starting 5/8 on center from the front side of the vehicle/exhuast mounting plate on the frame rail. I took about an 1/8” from the front and back of the plate to give myself some room incase either of my holes were slightly off. I measured everything down to 32nds of an inch accuracy, but rounded up to 16ths. The hole spacing is exact though. M12 bolts are .43” roughly, so 1/2” (.5) holes gives some room.
I opted to modify the receiver hole instead of returning the receiver because I have the tools and don’t know how literal the vehicle model selection is given they list a CX-50, then CX-70, CX-70 hybrid plugin, CX-90, and CX-90 hybrid plugin.

Hey Jacob. I'm sorry to hear that you had to go through all that to install the hitch. I did have a look at the hitch we have available for your 2025 CX-50 Hybrid and it looks like the only one that is available for a Hybrid model would be part # C33MJ. All other hitches are not a confirmed fit for the Hybrid.
