Can Curt Hitch for 2025 Mazda CX-50 be Used with Vertical Bike Rack

This hitch says not to use with a vertical bike rack. Im only planning on loading it to maybe 250lbs tongue weight no off-roading at most using my velociraxx 5x, would this still be unadvised considering its less than half the rated weight?

Hey Mark, officially I have to recommend you do not use a vertical bike rack with the Curt hitch part # C33MJ even though you said you'd be at only about half it's tongue weight capacity. The issue is the vertical racks put quite a bit more leverage on the hitch since they hold the bikes so high.
For what it's worth the Draw Tite hitch part # DT67YR that fits your CX-50 does not have this same exclusion so it could be used instead.

Thanks. The vehicle is actually the hybrid version, does that still fit? The drop-down for Mazda vehicles is not updated for the hybrid.
