Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Excellent product, service, packaging.

The install of my hidden hitch receiver went fairly smooth considering I did it alone with the assistance of a floor jack and car ramps. I have a 2010 Mazda CX7 but actually watch the 2010 and 2011 install videos and used techniques from both. The install took me about 90 minutes but would have went a lot quicker with an extra set of hands (as the videos stated). In order to expand the existing factory holes in the frame, I used a round chainsaw file and an old drill bit that was larger than the file. I also purchased a Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style 2 Bike Carrier. It required minimal assembly and was out of the box and on my car in minutes. We hit the road and were riding new trails the very next day. The rack was sturdy and easy to load. The only issue is with the ratcheting arms don’t completely secure the bike very well when locked. It is possible to slide the wheel trays in and pull the bike out from underneath the ratcheting arms while they’re locked.

2011 Mazda CX-7

Perfect fit, hassle free installation, Only took one hour start to finish.
Thanks for a great product and service.

by:

The actual hitch is excellent. I am very happy with e-trailer and the product. The installation, however, was slightly more complicated than I anticipated. The existing holes on the frame of my 2010 CX-7 are not big enough to get the spacers through. The instructions suggest using a metal file to expand the holes. That would take forever, I used a drill to bore out some space. Removing the rubber exhaust hangers also proved a little more difficult than I anticipated. Overall, great experience/price/product.

by:

I have not installed it yet, however, it looks great, I will send pictures later.
You have a great customer service program, I have never seen such quick, good and follow up information from any company as good as yours.
Thank You.

2008 Mazda CX-7

Perfect fitProduct fit perfectly and looks very good on my 2008 Mazda CX-7. No cutting bumper or rattling against exhaust as I've heard with some others. Installation easier than expected. Coating is semi-gloss black and matches black car/bumper pretty well.

2010 Mazda CX-7

Hitch assembled great. I just used the video as my instructions, and it went on easily. The only part I struggled with, was removing the exhaust hangers.

by:
2010 Mazda CX-7

Conservatively let's say two hours for the hitch and harness install on my 2010 cx7 but it looks great thank u etrailer for a great product.

by:

The install of this hitch took 20 minutes. Very easy after watching the installation video. I would recommend etrailer.com to anyone.

by:

Great product, I followed the installation video instead of using the paper instructions. Worked great. The longest and most difficult part of the install, was getting the muffler off the exhaust bracket/hangers.

by:

I bought both the hidden hitch and the wireing package. Both pieces fit perfectly. The best part was the installation videos on your website. So much more helpful than the paper directions! I had both the hitch and wiring installed in about an hour and half

by:
2010 Mazda CX-7

Easy to install, directions very clear. Hitch is nicely hidden under our 2010 Mazda CX-7 and the Swagman XC 2 Bike Rack fits perfectly.

by:
2011 Mazda CX-7

Product fit on my 2011 CX-7 was excellent. Hardest part of install was opening up the holes in the frame slightly to accommodate the spacers, but the video instructions were very clear. Took 30 minutes from start to finish. Helps to have 2 people to hold the hitch in place when bolting it down. Customer Service was fantastic.

by:
2011 Mazda CX-7

Product installed in minutes on a 2011 Mazda CX-7!! I didn't even have to drop the muffler as stated in the instructions and video. Instead I jacked the vehicle up a bit on the passenger side and was able to move the hitch into mounting position and secure it. A little hard with one person but a cinder block and a small brick did the trick of keeping it balanced.

2008 Mazda CX7

$250 here,$450@mazdaPut this hitch on my '08 cx7 and it was easy. Just like the vid. showed, no hidden steps. Also I used the wiring harness and that was great too. One thing I dident like was that you are to leave wires hang out the door. Try this: The gromet you run the power wire through can fit the plug. Make a 1/2" slit and lub up, it will slide through. Be sure you protect your wires w/ loom and tie the wires up so they can't snag or drag. Any way, great buy on both, fast shipping, great service.

by:

Great quality, this is my 5th Draw-tite brand. Etrailer was great with excellent product info and rapid shipping. This hitch for our CX7 went on in less than 30 minutes. Two sets of hands is helpful when lifting the hitch up into place. Hitch is very strong, and fully concealed behind the rear bumper skin (except for the receiver end)

by:

Fit perfectly! Was exactly as described on the web site. Excellent instructions made a somewhat difficult procedure very clear and easy to do. The hitch was of excellent quality. Quick shipping & follow-up tracking. I willl use e-trailer for all my future needs.

by:

Installation video is great! Product fits just fine, installation was easy. Make sure you have a helper or a jack to help lift the hitch into position. A dremel is very useful for quickly enlarging the holes.

I would recommend etrailer and Draw-Tite Products to anyone looking to purchase a hitch!

2010 Mazda CX-7

Fit was fantastic on my 2010 Mazda CX-7. Installation video is sooo helpful. Took me about 2 hours to do myself, including a trip to the hardware store for a metal file to enlarge holes in vehicle frame. Used a motorcycle/atv jack to help position the hitch and hold it in place while securing bolts, because I didn't have help. UPS delivered on-time despite record-breaking floods in the area. Still have to hook-up the wiring harness to OEM connection behind passenger taillight. All in all, 10 out of 10 so far. Excellent product, superb value.

2011 Mazda CX-7

Thanks to the etrailer videos there were no real surprises. The hitch fit as expected on my 2011 CX-7. I do suggest you plan for some assistance holding the weight of the hitch while securing the fasteners.

The only exception I found was with removing the rubber exhaust hangers. I was initially under the impression I had to remove all four after watching their video. This would mean I had to find a way to support the muffler. However, the instructions with the hitch said to remove only the rear hangers which is exactly what I did. That actually left plenty of room for me to place the hitch. As a bonus, the front two hangers supported the muffler. Also, removing both rear hangers completely off the CX-7 made it much easier to place them back on the muffler.

by:

Very nice hitch; this 3rd one I purchased from etrailer, and like all them before they are great! This one was a little harder to put on; but it looks great! The main use is to be able to carry my bikes; maybe light towing if needed.

  • Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with 2010 Mazda CX-7
For your 2010 Mazda CX-7 you would want to first start with a trailer hitch. For that you would want the Draw Tite part # 75512 which is a confirmed fit. • Largest Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2010 Mazda CX-7
A 4 inch trailer hitch receiver is not available for a 2010 Mazda CX-7, or for any vehicle that I am aware of. The largest hitch that fits a '10 CX-7 has a 2 inch receiver: - Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75512 This hitch is a custom fit for your CX-7, does not require drilling to install, and has a 3,500 lb towing capacity. • Which Trailer Hitches, Ball Mount, Trailer Wiring, and Hitch Balls Fit a 2007 Mazda CX-7
Yes. The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75512, will fit on your 2007 Mazda CX-7. For many vehicles, the manufacturer will not change the chassis and/or frame platform so the same hitch can fit multiple years of the same model vehicle. I have included two links below. One is the instructions for the 75512 hitch. The other link is for all the hitches that will fit your 2007 CX-7. I also recommend adding trailer wiring to provide a 4-Way trailer connection at the rear of the vehicle. If you do...

  • Does Saris Bones Hitch Bike Rack Attach to Trailer Hitch or Ball Mount
The Saris Bones Hitch 2 Bike Rack # SA882 installs directly to a trailer hitch and would not need a ball mount at all. Since there is sometimes confusion on which part is the "hitch" and which is the ball mount I attached a picture of this bike rack installed in a hitch plus a review video for you to check out. If you need a hitch for your 2011 Mazda CX-7 you'd want the Draw Tite part # 75512 which is a confirmed fit.

  • What Will a Class III Trailer Hitch Look Like When Installed on a 2009 Mazda CX-7
We have several Class III trailer hitches available for the 2010 Mazda CX-7. First is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75512. I have included a link to the instructions and a video for this hitch as well. For the most part, only the receiver shows. The other Class III Hitch, # 13593, will have a similar appearance after it is installed. Both of these hitches, when installed, are pretty well hidden as you can see in the videos. For the most part, only the receiver shows.

Let's start with a hitch, there are Class III hitches available for your 2008 CX-7 that would be excellent for using to carry a bike rack. For that I would recommend the Draw-Tite # 75512. Install video attached. With that hitch installed you could use the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack part # TH69TX. This has everything you need to use as a 2-bike or a 4-bike rack. • Hitch And Wiring For A 2010 Mazda CX-7.
For your 2010 Mazda CX-7 I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" Item # 75512. This hitch offers a 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. Having the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening rather than the 1-1/4" allows you to use the hitch for a lot of different accessories.
