The hitch extends pass bumperI saved $65 by buying from etrailer Vs. getting it from my local [….]. This model extends pass the bumper by 3 inches. I would have bought the (shorter) other model if I had known this.

Easy installation, factory fitHitch fit perfectly. Obviously custom-made for the Highlander. Only things I didn't like were some welding splatter and the paint was a bit thin in some places so it may need to be painted one day, but I would recommend it anyway. Great service and fast shipping
20 minutes start to finish. the predrilled holes on the mount are elongated making alignment and installation of the bolts very easy.
I haven't installed the hitch yet but, I am sure it will be fine. This is the second hitch we have ordered from ETrailer. I placed the order Saturday and received the hitch Weds. The service has been great!
Clunky, but goodI had to use PEP Boys to install it only because I'm 67 yo and did not have a good wrench to torque down everything. It's a substantial hitch that I'm using with a bike carrier, so Tongue Weight of 350 lbs was right on the spot. It is a bit obtrusive looking, but no one will rear end me with impunity, either.
Excellent, solid product.Very solid hitch. Had to use a couple of 2x4's and a teenager to lever the holes into alignment to mount on my Highlander, but everything else was very straightforward. Ordered over the phone and the customer service was 1st rate. Shipped regular and it got here in about 2 days. Wouldn't have tried this myself until I saw eTrailers' install instructions on You Tube. Glad I did!
Can't wait to tow stuff!I'm deducting one star only because it's pretty hard to persuade a hitch to bend. In the installation video, which was great by the way, the installer had to bend the hitch a little using a 2x4. I tried the 2x4, but the hitch had to move pretty far to get the back hole to line up. So my brother-in-law put his 2 ton jack on end and we cranked it open pushing against the spare tire and the hitch. Whew! Nevertheless, the installation was still very quick and I saved a lot of money by buying the hitch from Etrailer, installing it myself, and not going to my Toyota dealer.
This hitch was amazingly simple to install!
I was able to install it myself, in my driveway, without a lift, and using a simple ratchet wrench, in roughly 15 minutes. It took such a short amount of time, that I had only consumed about 1/10th of my beer that I had been planning to enjoy during the installation process.
Pros:
- Super quick and simple installation
- Simple and clear instructions (especially the videos from etrailer)
- Excellent build quality
Cons:
- The aesthetics of the hitch leave a bit to be desired, but then again, this is a freakin' trailer hitch. Initially, I was not too happy with how this made my Lexus look at certain angles, but I'm starting to live with it. I can't say that this is a CON against this particular hitch, because the other brands looked nearly identical for my vehicle.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this hitch, and especially the service that I got from etrailer.
The Draw Tite class III receiver I got for my RX350 was as advertised. Fast shipment and very easy to install. I had to use a clamp to pull one of the mounting brackets into alignment so I could get the bolts in, hence the very good rather than excellent rating. The entire job took about 20 minutes. I still have the much longer job of installing the wiring harness left to do.
I installed a similar Draw Tite class III receiver on my 2007 RAV4. It provided 5 years of good service but was rusty after 3 years. Auto makers seem to have solved the rust problem for the most part on their cars. Now hitch makers need to do the same.
Of the three available hitches for my Highlander hybrid, this DrawTight was the one most recessed, so very little but the receiver is visible.
Free shipping arrived (UPS) in three days. All holes lined up perfectly. Installed in 20 minutes without jacking or lifting. I had expected it to be fairly straightforward, but it turned out to be rediculously easy. (Don't tell my wife...)
The hitch was a snap to put on the car - EASY!!! Took 15 minutes max from start to finish. It looks well made and rugged. A HUGE negative for me, however, is how far from the back bumper it sticks out. It is easy to knock your shin on it and looks obnoxious. I thought it would be tucked under the bumper or at least flush with the bumper but it is not. I am NOT AT ALL happy with how far it sticks out. The quality, however, does appear to be top notch. If you could make one that doesn't stick out and exchange it I would be 1050% HAPPY!!!!!
The hitch installed easily and looks good. The weight actually makes the RX400H ride a little better. It tows well and holds bike racks with ease. Feels solid like a rock with no flexing or bending. Also protects the bottom of the vehicle when entering/exiting steep driveways. Would buy again.

A year later and I love it! Dont know how I got along without it before. Highly recommended. Have towed trailers, rental equipment & motorcycles dirt bikes with no problem. Had a professional wire the light harness. This tow bar protects the back bumper from being scraped when exiting very steep angle roadsdriveways. Its a welcome improvement to the 20067 Lexus RX400H. If youre searching for a tow bar, this is the one to get.
Overall I'm happy with the DT hitch. I installed it on my 2004 Toyota Highlander. I went for the DT over the Curt because it has the extra hole to use an anti-rattle J-pin. If the Curt had that, I would've probably went that way.
Starting with the packaging and shipping: the shipping was pretty quick although it looked like the box had been dropped a few times. One side of the hitch had blasted through the shipping box. This could possibly be remedied by over-wrapping the hitch ends with some thick cardboard or low-E foam in bags to make the ends less of a hard point. The result was minor scuffing of the paint...not a biggie for me.
The fit and finish of the trailer hitch was good, not great compared to the Curt hitch I put on my wife's minivan. DT hitch's welds were not as neat and clean and had spatter in various spots. The powder coat didn't look as of high quality as compared to the Curt.
It does stick out a bit more than I would like (roughly 1 3/4") but I don't think I'll be banging my shins on it when I'm taking things out of the trunk. A fair amount of the hitch is visible from the rear and I think I just need to get used to the look of it.
Overall, its a solid hitch and I'm happy with it. The main reason I bought the DT is because it has the extra hole for an anti-rattle J-pin. But if that isn't a need of yours, you wouldn't go wrong with the Curt hitch.

Just wanted to put up my review. Orderd parts and they arrived in a timely manner. The box has a huge hole in it due to the good ole post office not etrailer. I was afraid parts would be missing but the way etrailer packaged every thing all was in the box. It took me literally 5 minutes to put take off the tow bars on highlander and install the tow hitch. Wiring instruction were ok but the video instructions were right on and it only took approx 7 minutes to do wiring. Thank you etrailer for a easy project that even a girl can do!!! :-

Hi Cycling Guy,I am very happy with it. I feel it protrudes out just enough. It literally only took 5 minutes to install with the air hammerjack tool. Etrailer made sure I also got the right wiring I needed and nothing had to be spliced. That took a little longer maybe 15-20 minutes. The video explains everything VERY well.
