Question:
I have a 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 and am looking for something to keep the truck level while towing. I am looking at the Airlift Load lifter AL57295 and the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System TDR2500CA. The Timbren seems less complicated to install, does not require adjustment, has a higher capacity and cost less. What am I missing? Why would i go with the air lift? Do these two items that do something different?

For your 2012 Ram 2500, you are correct that either suspension enhancement system will work. However there are major differences between them functionally.
The Timbren system # TDR2500CA is a very solid jounce spring. It is a strong Aeon hollow rubber spring that is a very easy installation. It is not adjustable, and there is no maintenance. The only down side to these is that they can engage on large bumps when the truck is unloaded. This gives you a decent kick because the springs are really firm when under no load, so if they engage they do so at their most rigid point.
The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 helper springs # AL57295 are a more involved install. They are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi, so you can adjust them for loaded or unloaded travel. They absorb shock better because of the air system whether loaded or unloaded, but you do have to either plan ahead to add air when hauling or install a compressor like # AL25592 to put that adjustability at your fingertips in the cab of your truck. This is a nicer option, but there is a higher cost.
