Directions easy to follow, videos most helpful. Driver's side rubber plug difficult to pull out, which was strange. Due to rust in that hole, couldn't start threads of new bolt. A metric starter tap to rerun the threads wouldn't have been easy but I didn't have one.Old bolts from tie down brackets had narrow, bare metal tips before the threads began, so by using one of them I was able to get threads started, but I to bottom it out tight to its washer, then back it out to get new bolt started. Whole thing took an hour when I expected to be done in ten minutes. Looks and works great! Would have liked a quarter inch more clearance on 2 muffler side end bolts.
Installation was not an issue, the holes for the mount screws to secure the hitch were good if not perfect. It took me roughly an hour or less to install since I need to secure the hitch along with my rear bumper guard.
I will definitely recommend this particular hitch for compatible vehicles it can be installed. The price is also reasonable compared to other hitch products for my 2003 Toyota Highlander.
I would like to load pictures but as I said before, I had the hitch installed along with my rear bumper guard with no issues.
The product was delivered quickly and in an excellent box. The installation was straight forward and mostly easy. The muffler heat shield needed to be fussed with some, bent some to allow the bolts to line up and tighten, but that really wasn't the hitch's fault.
The hitch looks great on our 2002 Toyota Highlander. It hasn't been used yet, but it went on sturdy and no problems are anticipated.
I first went to local supplier to purchase the hitch and their price was over twice as expensive compared to etrailer and the closest install time they could provide was several weeks. I then went on line and found etrailer. They delivered within 1 week and at a great price. The hitch and wiring was easy to install and it's been trouble free for over a year. I would highly recommend etrailer to family and friends without hesitation.
I think these have a tendency to get slightly bent during shipping causing them to not bolt straight on. The first one I had ordered from another website and it arrived scratched, dinged and bent, no box. Fortunately, that seller did take it back no expense to me except the extra days we could not pull our boat trailer.
I ordered the same Hidden Hitch from etrailer and they clearly had superior customer service. It did arrive inside a box that was about 8" too long for the unit to fit snuggly so again it was slightly bent, about 1/4" off of alignment for the bolts to fit. I was able to stand up the unit, step on one end with my foot and apply moderate pressure the the other with my hands to bend it back to where it needed to be. I'm 6'1", 165 lbs. so no body builder here.
I also ordered a wiring harness that plugged right into the factory harness already on my 2001 RX300.
We've pulled the boat & trailer around several times.

Solidly built! The holes didn't quite line up, but the local welding shop put it on their press, and within seconds, had it bent and the holes lined up perfectly! Welding shop said this happens regularly when pieces are welded together. Rather than drill holes for the plug, I used SS hose clamps. NOTE: If you want the square tube "HIDDEN HITCH" cover, you have to order it separately.
Hidden hitch trailer receiver is great. It fit perfectly and the installation was easier than I anticipated it would be to install. The online instructions reassured me that I could do it. The instructions were clear and everything was just as the guides indicated. The reported time to do work was supposed to be 40 minutes. It took me an hour in rainy weather. I am impressed. Also I am slow and cautious when I get under my vehicles to do work. Thank you for a great product and instructions.
I am very impressed with the new Hidden Hitch I purchased. The installation was faster than getting it out of the box. What a great product! What great company! Every aspect, from placing the order to track it and finally installing it was a dream come true. I have to go pinch myself to make sure it is not a dream.
Wow. I am so happy. Lexus dealer wanted $700 for a hitch installed. Ha! If you have a Lexus with a tow package, get the Hidden Hitch, get the 118245 Tow Pack Replacement wiring kit, and get the 118149 4-Flat Universal Mounting Bracket. Easy installation, great communication from etrailer. No problems. Don't forget to install the 20A fuse (included with the 118245 kit) in the fuse block. Done, and looks better than my neighbors factory Lexus hitch. Thank you etrailer!
