Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Video Transcript for Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen

Speaker 1: Today on a 2015 Volkswagen Golf sport wagon, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Drawtite class one sportframe trailer hitch receiver, part number 24949.This is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. As you can see, the cross tube is completely hidden behind the bumper fascia 00:00:18. The receiver tube is nice and flush with the edge of the bumper fascia itself, so you're not gonna have to worry about hitting your legs or your shins on it when loading and unloading the vehicle. As you can see, the receiver tube is nice and flush with the edge of the bumper fascia, so you're not gonna have to worry about hitting your legs or your shins on it when loading and unloading the vehicle. This is gonna be a class one, it's gonna be an inch and a quarter by inch and a quarter. Your hitch pin hole is gonna be a half inch in diameter.

It's gonna have ring style safety chain loops for different size safety chain hooks.I do want to mention, this being a class one hitch, you wanna make sure you are only using class one hitch accessories. You're gonna have a 200 pound max tongue weight, which is the downward pressure on the inside of the receiver tube. You're gonna have a 2,000 pound max trailer weight, which is the trailer plus load included. I do recommend checking your owner's manual to make sure your vehicle can withstand that amount of weight, and you're gonna want to pick the lowest number between the vehicle and the hitch. Now, as far as the installation goes, this is a very simple installation. You do have to remove the bumper fascia, a few screws.

I do recommend, when lifting the hitch into place, get an extra set of hands until you get the first couple bolts in.Now, let's give you a few measurements to help you when deciding on any hitch mount accessories you may need, especially the bike rack or cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost part of the bumper will be about two inches. From the ground to the top innermost part of the receiver tube will be about 14 and a half inches. Now, let's show you how to get this installed. The first thing we need to do to start our installation is you need to remove your tail lights. You're gonna have a small panel on your passenger side, and you're gonna have a large panel on your drivers side, inside your storage area.

So we'll go ahead and remove them. Next, what we need to do is you'll see a white screw, like this, or bolt. That's what's holding your tail light in. We're just gonna loosen it until we get our tail light out. You're gonna have an electrical connection.

Take a flathead screwdriver, and that red tab, right there, just pull that out. And then right in front of it, you're just gonna push down and pull out. So you're gonna push down and pull out. We're gonna do the same thing to the other side.Next, we're gonna have one, two, three, and you're gonna have one that goes up that connects your fender with your bumper fascia. Four total, T25 torx bit heads or screws. So you want to remove all of those. And we're gonna do the same thing on the other side. So next, we're gonna have one, two, three T20 bolts here on our passenger side from underneath the vehicle we need to remove. Next, we're gonna have one, two, three, four T10 hex screws, and these are gonna be plastic, so make sure you watch when you're taking them out.Next thing we need to do is, you need to pop these little square blocks out. You can use a flathead screwdriver, I'm just using a trim panel tool. So now with an extra set of hands, we'll remove our bumper fascia. We're gonna start from the wheel well and we're gonna work our way up to the tail light area. We're just gonna gently pull out. Then when you get up here to the top, you're gonna have little tabs on the inside. Use a flathead screwdriver or trim panel tool, you're gonna push down and pull out. Then we'll set our fascia aside in a safe place.Next thing we're gonna do, we're gonna take a half-inch socket and we're gonna remove the bolts that are holding our bumper on. Next, we'll remove our bumper. We're gonna set it down, we're gonna be reinstalling it. Now, with an extra set of hands, we're gonna put our hitch on. Our bumper beam is gonna go over the top of it, and we're gonna install the bolts that come in our kit with our conical tooth washer. Make sure that the teeth are facing toward the hitch.Next, we'll take our half inch socket and tighten down all of our hardware. You wanna make sure you don't overtighten these. Next, we're gonna torque all of our hardware to the specifications in the instructions. Next thing we need to do is we need to trim a little bit on our bumper fascia, per our instructions. We need to measure from the inside edge of the opening, about three quarters of an inch, and that's gonna give us our starting mark. So from our inside mark, I'm gonna measure over about two and a half inches, and we're gonna measure down about an inch and a quarter. We'll just straighten that square up and cut it out.So now, we'll just take a flat blade, kind of clean it up, get off all this extra stuff I'm seeing in here. So now that we have our fascia cut out, you can go ahead and put it back in place. We're gonna start in the center. We wanna make sure we go under the hitch first. Make sure we get everything lined up, and we're gonna start in the center and work our way to the outside. Go ahead and pop everything back into place. You want to make sure that this plastic piece on the inside of your fascia goes on the outside of this bracket that runs along the back side of the car. If you don't have that on the outside, you're not gonna be able to get your fascia all the way on. You want to make sure this plastic panel here, you want to make sure it's up underneath this lip on the bottom of your fascia.Next, we'll go ahead and reinstall everything on the bottom of our fascia in reverse order of how we took it out. We'll start with these. Next, we'll reinstall all of our hardware inside of our wheel well. Next, we can reinstall our tail lights. Make sure when you plug them back in, make sure you push that red tab in.That'll do it for a look at an installation on the Drawtite class one sportframe trailer hitch receiver, part number 24949, on our 2015 Volkswagen Golf sport wagon.

2019 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack

As with other users, I was able to install my 1 1/4" trailer hitch without cutting the bumper fascia on my 2019 Alltrack. Looks great! My bike rack awaits! There are plenty of great pictures already posted that take you through the installation so I focused on the fascia removal process and posted a few photos that I hope will help others. Use a 3/4" panel trim tool to pop the fascia loose. It took me a little doing to figure out how to use it but doing so will prevent damage to the fascia. Also, use a little hand soap to lubricate the surfaces to allow everything to glide easily. You'll need to push the hard plastic tab downward with the tool to clear the cutout in the fascia. Removing the lower fascia also requires a little doing. No tools are needed but I had to rotate the lower part away from the main part in order to get the right position to allow for (not so) easy removal. At this point, follow the instructions provided to install the hitch skipping the part where you cut the fascia. Reinstall the main fascia first. Then install the lower part. It's a tight fit so be careful; I crushed my finger because I wasn't. Everything popped back in easily without tools. Note that for my 2019, I did not find the 10mm bolts listed in the instructions so don't look needlessly. 706222

Decent product but didn't meet my needs. I purchased this hitch mainly to carry a bike rack and with two bikes on the rack there was quite a bit of movement due to flex in the hitch. It was enough movement that I wasn't sure about the long term durability of the hitch. Ended up purchasing a version with a 2 inch receiver, and that one is much better. 596349

I installed one of these hitches on my 2018 VW Alltrack last year and the quality was good. However, the product quality seems to have gone downhill as I just received a new hitch for my 2019 VW Alltrack and the chain link welding is way out of alignment. See the pictures. I'm considering returning this and looking at other options. 644572

Got it installed in my 2019 golf sportwagen awd in only 45 mins, it fits perfectly. My only regret is that before looking on etrailer, I wasted 2 hours at [trailer rental place] only for them to order the wrong hitch, and then waste a morning trying to install it. Etrailer was definitely the better option! 667812

It works great, I have bumped around on your site looking for an extension with some kind of expandable mechanism. I mostly use the hitch for a bike rack and unfortunately, the tiny bit of clearance between the bike rack and the hitch turns into a real shaky bike rack. This has nothing to do with the hitch, the hitch is great and it was super easy to install. I saw someone with a bike rack that had this mechanism and it worked great. Not sure if you know what I am talking about.

I have included the anti-rattle devices that we offer, and there are a couple that are expandable but those depend on the style of the stinger on your bike rack. My recommendation would be the Roadmaster Quite Hitch # RM-061-125
Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 1-1/4" Trailer Hitches

After hours of research, calls to the VW dealer, we finally decided to pull the trigger and purchase this hitch for my 2016 VW Golf AllTrack. YouTube videos instructed us how to take off the bumper, crash bar and install a hitch. We completed the steps and FINALLY finished assembly and this hitch is PERFECT! It took some maneuvering to fit it into the precut hole, but it eventually fit like a glove. Bike rack has been attached and could not be more happy with the end result! We recommend this product- the price was great, and with a bit of time, some curse words, and multiple screw drivers- assembly was easy! 573815

The hitch works great on my 2017 VW Alltrack. I use it all the time to pull smaller [rental] trailers. I really like where the hitch fits on the Alltrack, it looks like it was designed to fit in the gap under the bumper. The instructions were pretty easy to follow and the job only took a few hours to complete once I'd gathered up the necessary tools. A few quick notes, the screw in the wheel well has very little space between it and the tire, so you will need a torx bit that can work in the small space (or grip a small bit with a wrench, or jack up the car to let the wheel hang a bit lower.) Some of the pictures may be from a European model, so some of the screws appear to be in a different spot, but it's not to tricky to figure out where they are. The most difficult part of the installation wasn't the hitch, but figuring out how to run power to the trailer light adapter, I ended up running the power through the spare wheel compartment and outside the car (underneath). So far that is working fine. 575266

Product fir great on my 2017 All track. Like others have posted......if you remove the bottom valence before re-installing the bumper, you don't need to do any cutting. You do have to muscle the bottom back on over the hitch but was much easier than cutting. 419749

Great hitch for my mountain bike rack. My 2014 Sportwagen TDI had a Curt hitch from etrailer that sat below the car so much, it dragged a lot on extreme dips, etc, and with a bike rack, the end of the rack dragged really bad on some grade changes like at gas stations, etc. That car was replaced last month courtesy of the TDI Emissions scandal, got enough from the buyback (more than I paid!) to get a new 2017 Alltrack. With discounts, I got the Alltrack and had $1,000 left over. Sweet. Drove the TDI for almost four years and basically got a free replacement and a thousand bucks. Time for a new hitch. This hitch fits so nice and clean up inside the body, it's awesome...looks better, and no more dragging. Arrived well packaged and with no dings or scratches. Usual excellent etrailer service with a great price, no tax (waiting for that to eventually end--that other online retailer finally started collecting sales tax in Utah), and fast delivery. The install...it's a little nerve wracking pulling that bumper cover off, but it's durable and did fine. I did break a couple of plastic tabs, but that did not compromise the re-install, there are plenty of them. Everything looks great. The instructions are OK, a few things didn't apply. Like Section 2 talked about removing the screws from a "spare tire appearance panel" or something...didn't apply to my Alltrack. There are basically just FOUR screws in each wheel well, FOUR of the plastic expansion screws with the square plastic 'plates' that pop out under the rear area, and then two more regular screws underneath, like in the wheel wells. Just look for all those and you'll be OK. The instructions say to push the red tabs on the tail light harnesses...NO, those PULL out to release. Then after unscrewing the large spring-loaded retaining screw, PUSH out on the assembly and they pop right out. And as reported, if you remove the lower bumper trim from the main assembly before reinstalling the main assembly, you can then reinstall the lower part over the hitch carefully with NO cutting...awesome. Don't forget to plug in the harness for the back up sensors before you reinstall the bumper cover, or you'll have to partially pull it back off to plug that in. As me how I know. Also I'd recommend a torque wrench to tighten the bumper bolts. It's only 20 or 25 ft lbs, which is way less then you'd think if doing by hand. That's the kind of bolt I would normally hand-tighten as hard as I could...when in fact they call for much less torque. Took me a couple hours. I could do another in less than an hour now. Not technical at all, just a little freaky pulling everything apart. And to get the bumper cover back on near the wheel wells, it took a good whack with my hand to get it to pop back in. The end result is awesome. 523999

Excellent service and fast shipping from etrailer.com. The craftsmanship of the product itself though has a lot to be desired to be great, according to my OCD standards. It will probably do the job and handle the weight it's rated for but it looks like someone was learning how to weld on the unit I received and Draw-Tite's quality control is not that good. The welded pieces of the receiver were not aligned that well. Check out the pictures. 595072

Wanted to wait until I had actually installed (or at least tried to install) the hitch before writing a review. Well, it's done, and I'm overall very happy. I was putting it on a 2018 Golf Sportwagen, just a month out of the dealer, so I was very hesitant to do it myself, even though the videos I saw made it look easy. After staring at it for a couple of day, I finally gave it a go. Went smoother than expected. Don't think I broke anything, except for a slight break on the lights connector (pull red tag out, then squeeze tab). Also, don't look for the appearance panel they talk about it the instructions; gone on the 2018. Otherwise, I think it went well. I think part of it was luck though; the opportunity IS there to screw up. Went well for me though. Hitch seems to be of good quality. Just planning on using it for bikes. Thanks. 525569

Read good reviews about eTrailer and completely agree - great price, fast delivery, great videos and support from other buyers. I installed the hitch on my Alltrack in about 2 hours. A big chunk of that was spent dealing with the plastic expansion screws holding in the plastic tabs on the bottom rear of the fascia. As others have reported, the heads on these stripped out immediately. Not sure what I could have done differently. In the end I just drilled them out. I was able to put the plastic tabs back in without the screws. I will follow up to see if they hold. Otherwise was pretty easy, no cutting and works great. 636200

As others have mentioned, you need to take the bumper fascia completely off to install the Hitch. I have a Golf AllTrack which is slightly different than the SportWagen shown in the video. There the amount of hardware attaching the fascia was not the same. Also my car has sensors built into the fascia and one on the bumper itself. They are attached by 2 cable fittings which were not difficult to separate for removal, just don't forget to re-attach them before re-installing the fascia as access would be difficult or impossible with the fascia in place. I did this by myself and it took about 3 hours! That said it would be quicker with 2 people (or at least a helping hand to get the hitch and bumper in place) and I can be extremely...umm..thorough. I watched the video from the etrailer site, and therefore found the printed instructions lacking information, additionally the measurements listed for cutting the hole for the receiver did not apply to my car. The fascia on my car has an additional trim piece which I removed to cut the hole, then I had to cut the trim to get it to fit around the receiver. This was pretty straight forward and I liked knowing if I messed up, the trim would cover my mistakes! I am very impressed with how it turned out, I am happy there is no drilling involved and the end result looks like it was installed by the manufacturer. Removing and re-installing the fascia was the most difficult part, the job would be much easier if you have access to a lift (Like they do in the video) instead of crawling around on the ground. However if you have access to a lift, you are either a professional mechanic, or rich enough to have someone else install this hitch for you, in either case you are not reading my review! 547337

All components seem of good quality, however I have 2 complaints. One is the instructions don’t really specify if you should run the power wire to the battery inside or outside of the car. I ran mine inside. You have to peel back a few pieces of trim and it got a bit difficult going thru the firewall. Depending what features your car has (I have an Alltrack SE), you can run the power wire thru an extra gasket right below where the main wire loom goes thru. My other issue is the connector they give you to hook up to the battery requires you to completely take the nut off the bolt that clamps onto the battery post. This nut is designed to never come off completely (I forget the type of nut it is) so you’ll need a new nut and bolt to get the battery all connected again. I have the areas where I ran the power wire and power inverter in red on my pics. Hope these help! 441044

Installed at this point, but haven't yet used. When received, it appeared it was missing some finish on a few corners. Box was in good shape, so it appears it was put into the box with finish imperfections. etrailer execution on the order was EXCELLENT. FAST, emailed link with other reviews (helpful). Installed on a '17 Alltrack SE with the rear sensors I scanned through the tips in this review section - so I'll try to offer points not already repeated a few times. I think I'm above average with tools, but it took me longer than the average review - probably three hours. Highly recommend surfing on-line videos for tips. Unplugging the electrical connections slowed me down on tail lights and back up sensor harness (one plug). Pull red tab out, not push in as an example. Plastic screws in clips stripped out (located on the bottom of the bumper cover). I didn't really understand where the screws were that needed to be removed at first, took a little looking around. Recommend having a 1/4" socket for the little torx in the wheel wells-pretty tight with the tire in place. Pulling the bumper cover was not (underscore) a comfortable process. Clips are tight. Afraid that the paint would have stress cracks with amount of pressure, but a standard screw driver in the retention clips got me through that. Bolts to mount bumper and hitch were easy enough. Ended up trimming the cover when it was almost in place (box cutter worked fine with a steady hand. Again, concerned with the amount of flex required to re-install the bumper cover. Exhaled when it finally somehow fit back over the receiver. If I had it to do over again, I could probably do it in an hour, but I'd rather pay someone $200 to just get it done with less stress. Couple of points an extra set of hands would be helpful, but I got through it without. LOVE my Alltrack. 512955

Seems solid. Doesn’t stick out and blends in nice. Install went as expected. As others have said, if you take the rear bumper apart you can avoid any cutting. I marked the area of the bumper to separate in red. Took about 2 hrs. 441046

2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen

I installed the bumper yesterday on my 2015 sportwagen tdi SEL/Highline. There is a good youtube video for this car that shows what to take off and how, so long as you can fill in the blanks with common sense. First time doing this kind of thing, I took my time and it took me 3 hours. I did it by myself. Build quality of the hitch looks good. Is made in Mexico. Fitment of the hitch between the body and crash bar is also good, I didn't have to adjust anything or hammer any tabs flat on the body. Between the instructions and youtube, taking off the bumper and putting it back on is doable by anyone who has the mindset to do it. Torque specs of the mounting bolts are in the instructions, it's important not to overtighten, I used some loctite as well. Instructions for cutting into the bumper is accurate, don't need to cut more than what they say too. Just make sure you are measuring from the correct side (you have a 50/50 chance otherwise :D). You don't need to cut extra for the chain loops, there is an oem hole in the bumper that you can get the loops through, and then the loops sit in front of the bumper. I purchased this hitch because it is somewhat concealed, and because it sits in the bumper rather than below (better ground clearance). So far it has delivered, will see how it goes when I use it after the car's break in period. 389005

The hitch was a breeze to install. It took me right at two hours but I took some extra time to clean the dirt and crud off of the inside of my bumper and fender wells. I didn’t need a second person to help. I have a 2017 Alltrack and it went on just great. Some other users have mentioned disassembling the second piece of fascia at the bottom of the bumper and reinstalling it afterward rather than cutting the trim. That’s what I did and it worked perfectly. A couple of notes. 1. The video says there are three t25 screws under each side. On the alltrack there are two. 2. I bought $6 auto trim tools online and they helped with all the clips. Nothing got broken or scratched. 3. I did not lift the car or remove the wheels. The torx screws in the fender were probably the most challenging. I used a 1/4” socket and ratchet for the three upper ones but the lowest one had no clearance for even the normal socket, so I used a 1/4” wrench and a t25 bit. It worked perfectly but took a little extra dexterity. The rubber etrailer cover makes it look 100x better. Invest in one. 565214

The hitch was well made and relatively easy to install. I installed it on a 2016 Golf Sportwagen LE. I can confirm that as others have stated that I did NOT need to trim the bumper fascia (as the instructions said I would need to). I separated the black, lower part of the fascia from the top part before reinstalling the main fascia. I was then able to snap the lower part on after fitting it around the hitch chain loops. A couple of other notes: the LE has the rear cross traffic alert. The sensors are bolted on each side of the bumper. I thought with the additional thickness of the sensors that the bolts might not be long enough but they fit fine. As has been mentioned in other reviews, the torx screws in the wheel wells have very little clearance. I highly recommend getting a torx racquet set. I bought one at a hardware store for about $20 (Kobalt 24-Piece Standard (SAE) and Metric Mechanic's Tool Set with Hard Case). This makes the removal of those screws straight-forward. 417306

Product worked as advertised. My second trailer hitch install. My first was for 2011 VW Sportwagon. This was for a 2017 VW Alltrek. All of the instructions steps written for Golfsport Wagon are also accurate for 2017 Alltrek. EXCEPT for one, Figure 5 in the instruction is not accurate and confusing. So re-check your dimensions before cutting. Intall took me about 2 hrs (as compare to 1 hour quoted) to complete. Largest portion of the time was used up in cutting in the hole bumper cover for the hitch. I uploaded what mine looks like. I also wished I had knocked off more of the Ohio salt before I started the work but all worked out . Good Luck. 355176

All most perfect. Took about 2 hours to install, with out wiring. Fit perfectly. No cutting of my brand new car. : )) I was very concerned about that. Works perfectly. Looks great. Looks like factory installed. Easy to install. The small problem; I purchased a draw bar from a local installer on my way to pick up my Waverunner. When it came time to slide the draw bar into the receiver it hit some weld slag at the end of the receiver tube and would not allow the bar to completely slide into the receiver. This required a little grinding and a little force. Otherwise, and awesome product at a great price. My car is a 2017 VW All Track btw 397827

I picked this hitch up for my wife's '18 Alltrack so she can haul bikes on a rack. Fitment is fine and install procedures just the same as those for a '17. I was able to complete the install by myself in 1 1/4 hours, I suspect I could do another in 45 minutes or less now I know what I am doing. There are a couple of Youtube videos that are well worth watching before attempting the install. I did not need to trim the rear bumper cover at all and was able to re-install by just working it over the Hitch and up into position. I did break a couple of the tabs on the body work when removing the bumper cover, but from what I have read this is going to happen no matter what you do. 495720

Other then having to take apart the whole rear of my car to install the hitch, the fit and finish on this hitch for my 2017 VW Alltrack was perfect. I was working alone and the install took right around an hour. 482363

We are so happy with our hitch, it was very easy to install once the rear body panel was removed. After that hurdle everything was very straight forward. We sweated over getting the larger 2” hitch but we have never needed it so this worked out great. We use the bike rack every week, and we also use the roof rack for kayaks every week hence the need for a secondary rack system. We could not be happier every time we use it makes us smile. As the wise one once told me (the wife) that rack doesn’t owe us a penny it was a great investment. 729074

The Drawbar fit perfectly. The difficult part was removing the VW bumper fascia , one just needs patience to figure that out. Did not need any fascia cutting. leaving the fascia in the sun made it pliable and easy to reinstall. Using a Right angle adapter on my power screwdriver made things easier and faster. Took me about 2.5 hours total time. 697288

Great quality hitch. fits perfectly. Once you have the bumper of the sportwagen removed, unclip the lower fascia portion of it. With it off, you can re-install the bumper without having to trim any plastic. Simply install the bumper over the hitch, then re-clip in the lower bumper fascia piece. Looks factory! Wiring was more difficult than the bumper since the trunk panels are more difficult to remove. 676901

2019 Golf Alltrack. Went on great, just took a while. Spent most of the install time just removing the fascia. It'd be easier if I had a 1/4" socket wrench for the T25 screws in the wheel well or just remove the tires... Two of the plastic screws didn't come out after they stripped, so I drilled them out. Everything else went as advertised. You don't need to cut the bumper if you detach the lower section and reattach it after reattaching the main bumper assembly. You don't need to remove any sensors. The sensors are all routed to a big cable, but I also couldn't figure out how to unplug that big cable, so detached the green cable anchor by squeezing the sides together which gave it more slack. I then rotated the whole bumper and half stuck it in the trunk out of the way. (still plugged in) 666459

Hitch receiver fit as specified on my VW Alltrack. Installation was complicated and time consuming as the rear bumper facia needed to be removed and modified to accommodate the receiver. The finished installation looked very clean. As the receiver has complete ground clearance, I would recommend it and purchase it again. 635421

Could not get the hitch to be level. The holes that bolt to the car did not have enough play? If you are going to be putting on a bike rack or other type rack it will be crooked and lean toward one side a lot. If you are putting on a ball to pull trailer it would be fine. If using for a rack, I would not buy this product. 628040

The installation was a little work, but it's hardly noticeable when put back together. The other huge benefit is that this unit puts the receiver higher than the "under the muffler" hitch receivers. With the vehicle loaded and rack loaded, I would regularly scrape or drag on some deeper driveway ents. 601474

My 3rd hitch from etrailer and again everything went smoothly. Shipping is very fast considering it's such a heavy item. Received it within 3 days of ordering. The online video instruction that's part of the product description is very clear and it only took a little over an hour to do it. It'll help to have someone when you have to keep both the hitch and bumper up in order to install the bolts. 590687

Hitch works great -- and it the receiver itself seems to be built to much tighter tolerances than my last hitch. Once inset the drawbar, there is very little play, even before tightening the bolt down. 588265

Ask the Experts about this Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch

Do you have a question about this Trailer Hitch?

  • Benefits of Using TorkLift EcoHitch vs Draw-Tite and Curt on 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack
  • The trailer hitch options for your 2017 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack can be seen on the linked page. The Class III TorkLift EcoHitch # 306-X7315 is the one that offers a 2-inch receiver opening, rather than the 1-1/4-inch receivers found on the Class I hitches from Draw-Tite and Curt, parts # 24949 and # C11422 Although the weight capacity of all three hitches is the same 200-lbs tongue weight and 2000-lbs towing, if you already own 2-inch accessories such as a bike rack or cargo carrier...

  • Hidden Trailer Hitch for a 2015 Volkswagen Golf TDI
  • I do have some trailer hitches that are hidden for your 2015 Volkswagen Golf TDI but # 24949 will not fit. I recommend going with Draw-Tite hitch # 24925 or EcoHitch # 306-X7310. Once either of these hitches is installed only the receiver will be visible. These are both 1-1/4 inch Class I trailer hitches. If you want a 2 inch hitch then I recommend # 306-X7309. If you want to use the hitch for an accessory such as a bike rack or cargo carrier then you have to make sure the accessory...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2015 VW Golf SportWagen TDI
  • For your 2015 VW Golf SportWagen TDI, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame Receiver Hitch # 24949. This Class I hitch is confirmed to fit your vehicle and will use existing holes in the VW's frame for a no-drill installation. The hitch itself has a towing weight capacity of 2,000 pounds but you will want to check your vehicle's owner's manual for its capacity. It is very likely that your VW Golf SportWagen has a lower capacity than what this hitch can handle. You will need to follow...

  • Difference Between Draw-Tite, Curt, and EcoHitch Trailer Hitches for 2019 VW Golf Alltrack

  • A lot of people use trailer hitches to carry bike racks or cargo carriers which is why we offer trailer hitches for vehicles like your 2019 Volkswagen Golf Alltrack like the Draw Tite part # 24949. When you install an aftermarket part on your vehicle like a trailer hitch in this case, you are protected by the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act.
