Torqueing the Bolts on the Curt Hitch C23FR on a 2021 Ford Escape
Updated 01/05/2026 | Published 09/10/2024 >
Question:
When I was torquing my hitch, I think it shifted a bit to where its slightly off center on the frame bolts on one side are not in the center of the hitch holes. Should I loosen it to readjust or do you think it be fine as is?

Hey Nate! If you already have your Curt Hitch item # C23FR installed then just leave the bolts torqued down. If you only had one side on I would say back them out but you're good.

Hey Nate, how did things turn out with your Curt hitch after you torqued it down? Did it stay lined up well once everything was tightened? Your update could make it easier for the next person working through the same step.
