Question:

Is there any class 3 trailer hitch for a 2002 toyota highlander thats rated for use with a weight distribution hitch? one site clearly states that the Curt 13429 can be used with wd. But other sites do not. I want to tow a KZ camper with a 320lb hitch weight. This camper has a 2800lb gvwr. KZ150rbt Sportsman Classic Well below the 3500lb highlander max and Im confident that actual towing weight will be about 2600lb loaded. Im concerned about hitch weight and rear vehicle sag. Thats why I want to use a WD system. Any advice would be truly appreciated. Thank you!

I checked both of the trailer hitches that are Class III and are a confirmed fit for the 2002 Toyota Highlander. Both the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41541 and Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13429 states that its not rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

To double check this I reached out to my contact at Draw-Tite and they confirmed # 41541 is not designed for use with weight distribution and will not hold up when used for weight distribution systems. I also have contacts at Curt Manufacturing that confirmed that they do not offer a hitch that is compatible with weight distribution for the 2002 Toyota Highlander. # C13429 is the only hitch we offer and it is not rated for weight distribution.
