Is Curt Hitch Compatible With Weight Distribution on Jeep Patriot?

Question:

I have a CURT Class 3 Trailer Hitch # C13081 installed on my 2015 Jeep Patriot my question is can I use a weight distributing hitch in conjunction with this hits that's installed on my vehicle? The trailer that I will be towing does not exceed the manufactures maximum weight rating but due to axle placement that is not adjustable by a feasible means I'm over on the tongue weight.

The Curt hitch you have installed on your 2015 Jeep Patriot, # C13081, is not rated for use with a weight distribution system, and neither are any of the other compatible hitches. However, if your issue is tongue weight, the Draw-Tite # 75712 offers a maximum tongue weight capacity of 525 lbs, which is 150 lbs more than the Curt, but it is also rated for 3,500 lbs of towing, which is 500 fewer than the Curt.
